Looks like their website is brand new - still 'test' messages up on their boards. I can't find anywhere yet that it states these dolls are made of resin. They look pretty shiny, I wonder if they're vinyl instead?

I emailed them and they replied that they were resin and were a brand new company in Korea. they do look rather shiny but I've seen other resin dolls that photograph that way with flash too.

Aren't Unoas really shiny when they come out of the box, too? Perhaps these just need a bit of light sanding, much like Unoa.

The Unoa Mocha I worked on a while ago was really shiny under her sealer. ElfDoll resin is also notoriously shiny without sealer, I think.
I've never seen an MSD body that looks like that one. So I don't think it's a copied doll, which is good, considering how many copied dolls show up on e-bay under a new company name.

not really... besides, that doll is 43cm and the dollstown elf is 52 i think.
it's not that uncommon of a jointing systems - it's more artist doll than mainstream.

Those are quite interesting. I really like Riz. They don't really look the the Dollstown Elf body, to me, from the photos, though the sculpting style is similiar? They look like they're made of resin, if a bit shiny - some companies do have very shiny resin. Perhaps someone should post that as a question?

Mmm, I saw them on ebay too and my first thought was that the body looked just like a larger breasted version of Dollstown's 7 yr girl body, right down to the solid ankles.
Be interesting to hear from someone who buys one, they are very cheap but I suppose that does not mean nasty ![]() Last edited by redastor; 09-13-2008 at 06:53 PM. |

I completely recognize the face sculpts.. and indeed the body looks a little bit to much like dollstown.
I'm not trusting this.. Especially because their faceups are completely noob skill works. |

though the link isnt working yet (e-mailed with a question about when it will be) on the top right of their home-page where it says view work bench there is a picture of one of the dolls that is partially sculpted in clay. And as to the face-ups not every doll sculptor is great at it, it could be a cost thing for them that they may not be employing a "professional"
Anyways, I've entered my highest bid and if I land Roseanne and it turns out to be a scam... thats what paypal is for And if its not I'll spam here with pics and you can all make up your own minds.edit: I noticed the dolls are $199 on the web and $250 on ebay?? Sent another question about it... will add the reply when it gets here. edit again: ebay has been changed to $199 from $250, anyone who purchased the doll at $250 would know that the price was inclusive of eyes and postage, whereas the lower price does not.... Also the reply I got through ebay said that the prices on the web-site are not conclusive and they are still working the bugs out of the links etc.... I saw her and thought she was cute, but the body looks like a shrunk-down Dollstown 13age girl body, which makes me uncomfortable. ^^;;

I just stumbled across this doll while browsing through on eBay, and, excited and thoughtlessly, I bid on it - and subsequently, while researching it and finding this - I won it.
I agree; the body is simply way too similar to the Dollstown body. Ironically enough, that was the first thing I liked about the girl. (And I hated the face-up, and the face, but looking at the blank heads in their store made me realize that I really liked the face, and the lips - the large lips are nice like AiL heads, but not similar in the way the Dollstown body is). But now, I really regret this. I haven't sent payment yet, and I've just contacted the seller to cancel my order. There were other bidders, so I told them to go through with a 2nd chance offer, and that I wouldn't leave negative feedback; only that I was uncomfortable with the purchase. Hopefully, it'll work out all right. If she does turn out to be completely legitimate, then I won't mind paying 200 + shipping for her. If you look at her blank mold, she's really quite cute and very much appeals to me. I like the immature body, and I hope she's legitimate. But I just don't want to take any chances, so I'll simply wait and see. EDIT & UPDATE: We mutually agreed to withdraw from this transaction . Their reply was as following: "Esteem your selection. I know dollstown's doll. I like doll of there. However, dollstown's doll and my doll differ clearly. Of course, it recognizes that whole line is similar, but there is difference in specific part. If see body of other companies, it is same there is each other similar part. Thank you." Overall, planet_doll was easy to deal with, and very fast with replies. All signs of a good seller, at least.

You can see more information here:
Oficial Website: http://www.planetdoll.com/ Sculptor´s Blog: http://blog.naver.com/jupi0104 I the blog you can see a lot of works of this creator. So the dolls are sure NO COPYS or fakes from other company´s doll. Now I am waiting for my Riz, I think she will arive soon. I will be pleased to make a review of head and body. Please, not accuse without proofs. Copy is a crime, don´t call anyone criminal so gratuitously ^^U 250USD is including eyes, and shipping. 199USD is the price of the doll (only the doll).

Hmmm... I didn't see any sculpting photos, but did see different castings of this doll, or at least of the heads. What section/page are the sculpting photos on? Perhaps I missed them.
