ABJD Lovers Under 17 Years Old!

Speaking of new sculpts, has anyone seen the recent stuff about the Feeple60? I'm literally dying over here, on one hand I'm really happy 'cause I loved the Delf line (never got to own any though), and I'm hoping they'll be a revamped Delf line sort of thing, but I don't want to add to my list of things to save for! It's overwhelming enough as it is, haha!

And hiii runners! I run, but not competitively like the rest of you guys it seems. Our school's xc and track environment is somewhat unhealthy imo, its so intense and focused on nothing but winning, which is great if you're one of the very top runners and less so if you're not..

DeadRoseCircus- I think for me its the lack of a steady source of income, like what it seems to be for you also, random jobs and windfalls (saving loose change also) are pretty much how I make money for this hobby, but there's also things like movies or the mall with friends which I need money for also, and while I've cut down on spending in those areas there's also no way I'm cutting out my social life completely. So its slower saving, and yes, I totally agree about the parents thing! They definitely can exert some amount of control over buying and such and my mom doesn't completely see the whole "point" of BJD's in general.

 

All of you are crazy! I loath running. Only time I run is for life or death. Or to save a bjd from crashing xD I was a volleyball kid, though.

 

Oh gosh, running. I have a knee problem so running is not an option, but I do swim recreationally and horseback ride competitively. Sports aren't really my thing. Music and acting sum up the majority of my extra curricular activities.

I can't wait until Eirik gets home from his face-up. It's only been a few weeks, but I miss him so much. Though Soren has been getting a lot of attention and photo time.

 

I have chondramlachia(I think is how you spell it) patella. A problem in my knee. Where, the muscles in my inner thigh grew stronger that my knee and lower leg muscles and outer thigh and it pulled my knee cap to the right when I bend it, and instead of my knee cap going up and down in it's little groove, it goes side to side. And it is bad enough now, it's damaged underneath, but it doesn't hurt me, the docter says running is good for it because it works the whole leg to kinda equal it out, but I have to get sergury sometime.

Mhy prob. is I never really wore the kne brace, but I still run. xD
I horseback ride some, but not competitive. I have a quater horse, but she's never done much of any competition.

I can't ride a bike,though. xD
I know it sounds whimpy, but I tried as I was little, and right before I got my training wheels off, my knee got screwed. v.v

But back on topic. My ShuShu Ember's BIO story and all are going on a blog! Making a book for those of you curious about what's gonna happen and all. Every week I am gonna post a chapter on my blog.
I got the idea from the great crazykimochi. xD

 

I used to jump horses competitively from 5th to 9th grade. Thats how I got my knee injury actually! But after tons of PT I am taking up running as I said before. We all have a lot in common!

On an on-topic note, I think I'm going to go for the Soom doll instead of the leekeworld. . I'm a sucker for anthros.

Congrats dollyb! That's fantastic.

My saving has been put on hold as I have some important things to pay for in the next couple of months. At least I don't know who I'm saving for next, so I'm not specifically disappointed. Sometimes indecision really pays off. Plus, I can spend more time with the boys that I have.

 

Thanks! It's about to make me nuts- all this waiting and spending and stuff. xDI am just excited to finally be getting one home!

 

I know how you feel. I'm so anxious about saving money in time, selling stuff, etc. I just hope the Soom checkout works for me. In the past it hasn't.. but I read somewhere that it doesn't work because of my internet browser, so I'm just going to download a different one, and hope for the best!
But I think the saving-up process is actually pretty fun. It gives you time to obsess over it. haha

 

Ah the age old (no pun intended) age debate and money saving debate. Okay they're not really debates but I can understand where you guys are coming from. I'll be turning 18 next year so I hope I can still visit this forum. I still have job issues ( I can't find one, nor do I have a paypal) so i'm still looking for work. I've been just sitting tight making new things for Benny dreaming of getting him an older brother or a dad.

Age wise I don't get a lot of people thinking i'm a freak for that specific reason. Maybe it's because everyone my age in my area is a tad bit "weird".

Well, I finally got Rails unstrung and she is soaking in water now. I'm a little more confident about sstringing now!

 

I feel like I am still such a noob in this hobby because I've only had one bjd and am now selling her. I have never re-strung, sueded, or done a faceup myself. I think I'm more drawn to the backstory/ OC/ photography side of it. I definitely do not have enough artistic talent to do faceups and such.

How did you guys first learn about bjds? For me, I purchased this book called Japan Ai by Aimee Major-Steinberger. It's basically her sketchbook (made into a story) of her trip to Japan and visiting Volks while there. ​

 

Don't feel bad. I have been in the hobby two years. I have only had one BJD I got a year ago,I haven't sueded,made clothes for, or done a new faceup on yet. XD
I just figured out how to string her. V.V and that took a day. XD and her head is way too wobbly!

 

I have a friends that's moving to Japan in the beginning of September for University as well and she invited me to visit her in December. I'm so hopping my mum will let me go because it has been a dream of mine for years ^^ I love Japan

Yes, I've considered it. My problem is that I'm not prepared to be apart from my girl just yet even if it's just her head x')
Besides, I would really like to try to do my own face-ups. That way I could experience more with her, see how I would like her style to be and everything... If I send her to a face-up artist, she will do it once and send her back if you know what I mean...
I'll just buy one thing at a time... It will take me a while to get all the supplies I need but I guess it will be worth it

Oh, I've been to Lisbon tons of times before and I always spend my summer in the Algarve ^^
But I've never been to Evora before :/
And I've been to quite a few places in Spain as well but none of those haha x) I've been to Madrid's airport though...

Haha, for real. I hate running! I have low blood pressure (or whatever it's called since I don't really know the equivalent expression in English) and running makes me dizzy and out of breath in only a few minutes. All sports do eventually :s
However, I managed to do ice skating for a while for fun as well as racing Go-Kart cars. I even entered a few competitions but had to quit due to a injury in my right arm :'(
I'm now unable to practice most sports unfortunately :s

 

Embers boyfriends name is now Peter,Peter Parker. If you recognize the name you should be able to predict some awesome stuff gonna happen in her future..
