I filed a claim with them last week. I also got a letter from my credit card company today, saying they've contacted Paypal, Celyne, and her bank. It also basically said that unless she can prove she's sent the item or refunded me my money, they'll credit me back my money and be going after her!

No dragondavy1, celyne don't talk anymore to french people. More, she blocked her msn messenger to us.

Today I visited Dollstown board and I saw her new doll on it...

I don't understand how she can't feel guilt over what she's done... doesn't she look at her new doll and feel ashamed at how she got the money for her?

I hope everyone is able to get at least some of their money back. What I really hope is that she gets brought up on fraud charges!

I don't understand my self. She should be feeling very guilty about what she did to us. In a time when we should of been happy in getting what we ordered and the holiday season here, we are all here very upset and worryin if we will get our money back.
She say she has no job but yet she takes from hard working people who saved, its not right.

Thank you Kirane!!! though it makes me mad as hell. If I were rich I would be over there now knocking on her door!! I guess thats the difference between regular hard working folk and really rich people they think it and they act on it!! how fun that would be.


I checked my paypal today and it showed case closed the real kicker is it said Refund Given! HOWEVER NO refund was given. I called and they shruged it off as attempted to give but no funds available. I wonder if they add up all the so called Refund givens to make themselves look good. One thing that concerns me is the bank taking the funds from paypal and then me not being able to use it again being locked out which seem to be what they want to do. I can't afford to lose the paypal service even though I don't like the business practices letting scammers off so easy and being unwilling to assist me in getting her info.

Yea PayPal won't do ANYTHING, they could care less. I've tried getting back $600 that I gave to a lady way back in August (she scammed me, I was supposed to get a camera). So I wouldn't rely on PayPal AT ALL. I know I'm never gonna see that money ever again

I'm really really sorry to hear this has happened. I just stumbled on this thread and read through it all....

I'm not on PayPal's side or anything but I do have a little more insight I guess, just wanted to try and clear up a little bit about the whole PayPal claim issues. No I've never been defrauded (thank god) but yes I can see where you're coming from, so it's understandable to feel anger towards all parties invovled (both the seller, PayPal, banks etc)

Just a clarification - Although PayPal can see where the money has gone to, just like how you are filing claims through your CC and Bank she can do the same to any charge posted on her account. Though in this case her PayPal is frozen so she simply doesn't care about never using it again.

PayPal also cannot just 'take the money back' as it would constitute an unauthorized charge on the account and would be highly illegal to simply go after her bank account for funds. PayPal does need to follow all standard federal/state and international laws in regards to banking, money laundering laws, anti-terrorism funding laws etc. So often it's not as cut and dry as that. Yes they can freeze the account, but they are also in a tight spot.

Ultimately, like the forums here they can't give out that information though if asked by law enforcement or other authorities they are able to release that information I believe. So my guess at best course of action is to file a suit or something. Police and law agencies will be much more open eyed once they know the total amount you have all been defrauded for (the individual amounts to them may not seem like much but with everyone we're talking thousands of $$$). Like the last big thread that went around, it might be a good idea to spin the dolls as collectables, expensive collectables like an antique or some such (they're more likely to understand value then) and right off the bat express the amount of money that's been stolen.

If possible since you have the address see if you can have notice delivered. Usually once lawyers or police are involved in an investigation (and from the sounds of it credit card companies as well) I certainly would be scared. It's no small amount so local law enforcement should perk up a bit once they hear the total amount. (This however is speculation since I know very little about French laws surrounding these matters)

For those worried about buying in the future (I seriously hope this hasn't soured you from the hobby >.< I regularly buy and sell dolls here and now eBay and the guilt alone from just contemplating such a thing makes me wonder how someone could do this...no matter how desperate...and just for some new dolls...) Escrow might be an option - costs a bit but for peace of mind....either that on Cash on Delivery/Arrival can work in some areas too.

I could be wrong on some of this, like I said I'm no expert but that's my limited understanding. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please (I always like to know so I don't give out wrong information)

EDIT: oh...um don't tell anyone I gave you this....
