    Bad transaction with gottabegenki [resolved]

Her DOA name is gottabegenki. Her real name is Karla Kaminski from Covina, California and here is her original post:

    http://www.denofangels.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=55183

I had made her an offer for the nude doll, since I saw that alot of people wanted the outfit. Long story, short, I purchased the nude doll, sent her payment via PayPal, and never received the doll. Of course, she would not respond to any of my PMs or e-mail messages, except for one short cryptic message four days after she was originally supposed to ship him and send me the tracking number; in that brief contact, she said she would ship the doll during her lunch hour at work and would send me the tracking number that same day. I realize now that was probably to hold me off for a couple more days to give her time to withdraw my payment from her PayPal account and have it clear to her bank. That was the last I ever heard from her and there has been no trace of the doll.

I had no choice, but to file a dispute through PayPal; they sent her an inquiry and gave her ten days to repond. She did not respond to PayPal's formal inquiry, either, and the case was decided in my favor, by default. However, she had withdrawn my payment from her account and PayPal is unable to refund me. I am without my money.

Am very heartbroken and upset over this, needless to say. I really wanted the doll and had purchased clothes for him and had a name picked out. I guess I should have been more careful about checking references and such; I intend to do so in the future.

    Please beware of this person.

    Regards,
    Sealpup

This is such a dirty deal Ellen. I sure hope they catch this thief, and your money gets returned.

I agree I wish people would stop treating each other with such utter disrespect it's not fair to those who have fully given you their trust I hope you get your money or your boy back I know you deserve him!

Thank you both. I guess there are a few people out there who think stealing is okay as long as you can get away with it. It's the same as breaking into someone's house or car and taking something. I really feel violated.

Her profile shows that she's been on DOA just over a week ago, have you PMd recently?

    Hope everything goes OK.

Did you pay with credit card?
If so, you can file a claim with your bank. I had this happen to me on eBay. The seller's account had no funds, but my bank was able to credit me for my loss.

It looks like her last post was at the end of March, just right before I paid her.

That's good. Actually, she had contacted me several weeks after my offer and said that her original deal "fell through" and asked if I still wanted the doll. It could be that it did not fall through and that she was selling me a doll she had already sold. Anything is possible. It's hard not to speculate when something like this happens.

    Best of lucks in this!

I was switching internet providers and was unable to get access to my paypal and the forum for a week because my work blocked both sites. The address of sealpup was in my paypal. By the time I went to get it late last week to send the doll she had already taken back her money.

I apologize to Sealpup and I didn't mean to dissapoint her. I'll still send her the doll, even if she took back her money. It's the least I can do for putting her through this.

Sealpup: I'll pm you the tracking number tom. When you get the doll please retract this post.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it sounded like she didn't recieve the payment back from Paypal because you had already withdrawn the money.

People have said this time and time again, you can always go to the library or a friend's house to access things on the internet. Not having access to the internet is just no longer a reasonable excuse for not contacting people.

Now that you mention it, I went and checked my paypal and saw that my balance has been returned to it's original amount. When I checked it last week my balance was negative due to her claim, which was the very reason why I didn't send the doll out, but now I'm seeing paypal didn't push through with the claim and deduct it.

I know. It's ultimately an excuse, it doesn't change the fact that I'm at fault, and I take the blame for poor Sealpup's stress. I won't fail in sending the doll out tomorrow.

    Wow...

That is so unbelieveable as to be laughable.

I especially love the save after Darkrogue posted.

Of course, if you can provide Paypal statements to prove this, I will, of course, apologize.

From what I understand, she doesn't need to prove anything to you.

I know Karla personally and have done business with her. She was very honest and prompt with our transaction so please don't think that this is how she always conducts business. IMO this was an honest accident with NO intention to steal from Sealpup... Ultimately I'm only a character witness, but I fully believe she would not deliberately steal from anyone on DoA.

I'd like to close the loop on this issue and let everyone know how things ended up.

The doll arrived at my door exactly two days after I posted, so I did finally receive him. I have tried to keep my posts to this thread confined to the facts, so I will not use this forum to further vent my feelings of disappointment in this transaction and the extra time, effort, energy, and stress involved in finally getting what I paid for. This can be well imagined, anyway.

Thank you to those who posted and/or PM'd me to lend your support and guidance.

    Regards,
    Sealpup
