DoA's 8th Anniversary, Off-Site Artisan Subforum to be Removed, and Gentle Reminders
8th Anniversary
State of the Forum - 8th Anniversary
We've come a long way, babies!
DoA is currently undergoing major transitions in regards to the moderation staff. Although these changes are NOT affecting the forum at large, the staff is not currently in a position to host the ginormous Anniversary celebrations we've hosted in the past. We appreciate your understanding on this issue and we thank you for your anniversary wishes as we move into our ninth year of enjoying this wonderful hobby.
We would like to encourage interested members in joining us for a few small "games" in honour of our 8th year! No prizes just fun and bragging rights!
DoA's 8th Anniversary!
Off-Site Artisan Marketplace Subforum
It is with mixed emotions that the moderation team has decided to abandon the Off-Site Artisan and Dealer Mall project. We are certain that this will be a relief to our talented artisans as there was confusion around which Marketplace subforum was the correct subforum for those with Etsy shops, eBay shops, customizing blogs, and e-websites to post their threads. We will begin the process of moving the Off-Site Artisan threads back into the proper Marketplace subforums. Those members who have threads with multiple items and sizes and services listed, please begin new threads in the correct marketplace subforums. The old threads will be deleted. Thanks for your patience with this failed experiment!
We are registering new dealers weekly. If you are a dealer or a company representative, you may not use the DoA Marketplaces to sell your product. You must post into News and News/Event Chat only. Likewise, members with e-marketplaces may not use the News subforum to advertise their services and products. Guidelines for Company Representatives
A Reminder About Marketplace Rules
In spite of the fact that current Marketplace Rules have been in place for some time, far too many members are still failing to observe those rules, or reacquaint themselves with the January Reminder Announcement. We strongly urge all members using the Marketplace to reread the MP rules. The following breaches are among the more common still being made:
- Deleting contents in finished doll MP threads. Please do not delete content since the graveyard exists as an archive of MP threads. Leaving content intact is a basic rule of the Marketplace. If you withdraw a doll from sale, simply state so in the sales thread without removing the previous information. Similarly, with WTBs and WTTs, when you've finished or if you've changed your mind, you must leave the content intact.
- Marketplace threads must include photographic evidence that you have the item in hand. Photo placeholders will not do. Moderators reserve the right to delete any Marketplace threads without owner photos.
- Please remove lists of sold items from your Marketplace threads. The reason for this is simple: if you don't remove them they will come up as false positives when members do keyword searches.
- Please read the off-topic and banned dolls in the Wiki before posting a doll in the Marketplace.

I appreciate the hard work you do and the fact that it can often be a thankless task or even a task that involves being treated badly by some of the "bad eggs" in this hobby. The mods are people too, and they have feelings and care about this forum and this hobby. I am thankful for everything they do to keep this forum moderated and alive, because I love this place (despite the "bad eggs")!
