    Paging Arlequinne - RESOLVED

I purchased a Migma doll from Arlequinne that turned out to be damaged. The doll was listed as "only been unwrapped once for the pictures and has never been exposed to sunlight," but turned out to be badly yellowed.

I was offered a full refund of $880.00 that was to be sent to me via PayPal as soon as I had shipped the doll back (on my own dime, as I offered) and provided a tracking number to the seller. I had a few delays due to the post office not having power after a bad storm in my area, but I contacted the seller daily with status updates on the electricity issue, and finally shipped the doll back and contacted her with tracking on 07/06/2012.

The seller has not contacted me since 06/30/2012 and has not logged onto Den of Angels since 07/03/2012. I would like to have the refund before or on the day the doll is scheduled to arrive back at the seller's home, which is tomorrow, 07/13/2012, at which time I may need to escalate the issue through PayPal.

I apologize for the delay. I did not mean to alarm you by disappearing. I was unable to check my mail as I was hospitalized from the 6th, when you last contacted me, until yesterday morning. It is not an excuse, but it was unexpected and prevented me from contacting you. I have issued the full refund via paypal as of today.

I am sorry you were unhappy with the Migma I sent you, I have apologized before for the condition you received her in. There was no discoloration when I sent her and I was being completely honest when I said she had only been taken out of her box once; I would not sell something so expensive on false pretenses. The only explanation I can think of is that she was exposed to extreme heat during shipping, which is entirely possible because she shipped from Texas. I have tried to be accommodating and understanding and felt that my willingness to resolve this issue and work with you showed itself throughout the entire process. I am very concerned with all transactions on this website and try very hard to make them happy ones.

I have sent a copy of this to your inbox with information about the refund.

    Thank you,
    Rachel

    Glad to see you back!

I started this thread merely as a 'page' to get your attention in case you had forgotten about me, in the hopes that it would reach your email inbox. I'm not trying to be malicious; it was only a precaution, for example in the event that you did not or could not return to Den of Angels for whatever reason.

Please understand my concern and try not to take it personally. As I explained to you via PM, the doll is badly yellowed. The legs are completely different colors. You told me that you had not looked at the full doll or taken it completely out of its box prior to the sale, so there is no way for you to have seen there was yellowing. In the future I'm sure you will fully inspect your merchandise before making a sale, and I will ensure I ask for clearer pictures when making purchases myself.

I have been very happy with your communication and willingness to send a full refund in exchange for the return of the doll, but when you disappeared for two weeks and I had neither a refund nor the doll to show for the transaction, I started to get worried. I hope you understand.

Thanks for your prompt response. I will await refund and then mark the issue as resolved. Hope you're feeling better!

No offense taken, I'd do the same thing if it happened to me. I just wanted to explain fully to avoid bad feelings!

I believe you that she has yellowed. I admit I didn't take the full doll out of the box, but I would have noticed extreme discoloration and the pictures I took don't show anything. It must have the heat spell we had down here when I shipped her. It didn't occur to me that she might be damaged in transit, I've never had that happen before.

I am doing better today, thank you for asking. I'm restricted to the house for the next month, but at least I'll get to work on my art while I heal up.

    Thank you,
    Rachel

That's cool! Just glad all's well.

Update: Tracking information shows that Migma was delivered to Arlequinne today, and my Paypal refund is scheduled for tomorrow, July 16, 2012.

Paypal says the refund has been made to my credit card, so let's consider this resolved. Thanks!
