    Upgrade/patch install: Report problems!

We will be down for approximately 45-60 minutes at around 6pm tonight. We will be installing patches, which will necessitate that we upgrade to vBulletin 4.2, which has some slight changes and fixes. As usual, there may be some bugs to work out afterwards. We'll update this thread after the upgrade.

I am happy to help you, but please use the Ask the Mods subforum!

All right, the upgrade script has been run, which should fix most of our buggy issues lately. Of course, as with any vBulletin upgrade, these bug fixes will come with fun new bugs!

Things may look and feel a little different - please give things a little time to settle. Please don't ask if we can revert anything; it's unfortunately not possible. Small tweaks may be possible, but that's about it!

When I look at the Marketplace Dolls - Larger size, I see this:

I've validated this on FireFox 13, IE9, and Safari on the iPad 1.

(Also, I lost that link to the Den of Angels iPad app that was prompted when I was trying to replicate this on my iPad. Is it linked here anywhere?)

Okay, the weird display issue has been fixed. Unfortunately, it means that one of our plugins doesn't work with 4.2... but on the positive side, it's not a plugin that we had actively started using yet.

The extra commas thing seems to be related to the forum's skin... so it's going to take a little bit of time for me to figure that out.

I'll probably be reskinning the forum in the next month or so anyway, so it may just need to be considered a cosmetic flaw for now until the new skin.

This isn't as big of an issue as the thing eveshka pointed out, but some of the alignments are off on the main forum page.
(See Here, I hope my handwriting isn't too bad) I included the second section on the screenie to show that it applies to all of them.

The weird alignment issue that Savaille points out, is being caused in the CSS.

There is padding-top on .forumicon. If you remove that, all the icons fit nicely again

The headers - looks like .forumbit_nopost .forumhead .forumtitle needs to be adjusted down from 76% width to ~71%

Not sure if this is a problem so much as possibly part of the upgrade. But is the Home page no longer going to be a part of the site?

quiet0, thanks so much for your help.

Testing to see what's up with the smilies being trimmed too... >_<

Edit: That's a fix for tomorrow, I think! I'm getting a little grouchy.

When I try to pm a member I get a very strange presentation- all the smilies are at the top, and the message formatting & body of the message is squashed down the left hand side?

I have a similar problem to Saba- I'm using Firefox 12.0, Windows 7. I tried to edit a post, and was immediately taken to what was formerly the 'go advanced'edit ( no option to just put my original post in a text box and fix it on the thread page). Everything is squashed to the left, and although I can make the text box longer, I can't make it wider. I don't know much computer lingo, but here's some screencaps to show you what I mean. Big images are big, sorry. 1 2

Thanks for all your hard work, you make this forum so easy for all the rest of us to enjoy. ~<3

I'm using the newest version of firefox and noticed when I go to edit my signature that the box is all messed up... Not sure if this is because of the new patch or something else but thought I'd mention it.

I just tried something for that... could you try it again for me and tell me if it's fixed?

you're welcome! smilies alignment - looks like .postbody img.inlineimg is the culprit - take out the vertical-align:bottom and it should fix it.

Just checked out the edit signature box and everything looks good. (Firefox 12 on Windows 7).

Me, too! Everything is in one, long, thin line to the left. Only when I go to create a thread. Haven't tried editing a post, yet, but making a post in an existing thread is OK. It also told me I had not signed in with the proper user/pw, but when I clicked the 'Den of Angels' link, I was OK and logged in.

I'm also on v12 of Firefox, Windows 7.

I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but the page seems to be stretching so I have to scroll to the side to see my username and the log out button. Though this had started before the update. I'm using Google Chrome.

The way that they've done some of the css on the default templates is ridiculous... I'll try that for the image alignment, thanks!
