We have 10mm glass eyes in my wife's Fir and her nubs are still intact. They're small enough to fit through without problems and don't gap at all. I'd be sad if the nubs went away, because they're pretty handy with silicone eyes.

Amet- Good to know about the 10mm eyes. I was just afraid that I'd find a pair of glass or acrylic ones that I love and wouldn't be able to get them because of the nubs.

Elsii~ I agree with everyone else. lol. Daphne looks amazing! I can't wait to see all the new incoming Rosettes.

Livi and I along with the rest of my girls made a trek to the Great Cheese State, Wisconsin, for a large meet up. Myself and a group of my friends did a vintage circus/carnival theme for all of our dolls. Here is Livi in her Kissing booth...Feel free to look at the other pics in my flickr.

Miss Margarita is back from the spa at Xhanthi's! I'm so much happier with her now

Though, the 14mm Soom eyes are way too big for her, so I'm waiting on a new 12mm pair (if only Soom would ship my Cylin order from February... grrr).

Also, a question for those who use Flickr to host pictures. Any idea why my photos always appear darker after I upload them? When they are viewed full-size, they are fine, but scaled down they are darker than I like. Is it just the way Flickr scales down pictures?

Anna She's super pretty! Love those lips - they remind me of your Daffodil's!

IDK what's up with Flickr. I feel like it adds unnecessary noise to my photos when I upload them, but I've no idea why.

I wonder if it's the eye putty that is being used. The silicon ear plugs that people use are no good for silicon eyes. There is also some other putty around that will give you some problems as well. I used the putty that came with my AOD Sara with Soom eyes and it yellowed them. There is a thread on this somewhere

wow... and this is why I stay with good old fashioned glass or urethane; sure it means the eye-nubblies gotta go; but I much prefer them to silicone- them things are dust-MAGNETS!! xD

I'm kind of dreading the pupil-leaking stuff. >_< I've only got a few pair of silicone eyes so far. I was pretty unimpressed with the Soom eyes I got (although I'm giving them another chance, as I ordered a pair with my incoming Fir) but I've got a few pairs of Eyeco. One of them arrived to me with the sclera already obviously yellowed. The others look gorgeous and I love the pupil detailing on them, but they really do stick to every bit of dust and lint; it seemed like they go almost instantly fuzzy and dull and I have to clean them constantly to prevent it.

Good to know about the dust-magnetism of silicone eyes! I might get some from Soom when I order my Fir- if I get to order her, that is. I'll spare the details suffice to say I got the most lovely e-mail this morning informing me that I'd lost my job. Wonderful...

Pandy and Malaryush- Thanks. I'm just hoping I can find a halfway decent job soon.

I always use silicone earplugs with my silicone eyes (I found out it was bad only after I had all my girls' eyes in) and so far so good! As I mentioned--I've had mine for years with not a hint of trouble. I assume that means it takes a lot longer for silicone eyes to react to silicone putty.

They do get dusty though. I find washing them in water helps. I also have been known to use tweezers to pull off any visible dust when their eyes are placed.

I personally like non-pupil eyes, and I find that urethane and glass non-pupil eyes just don't hold up to the color of Soom's silicone eyes. They reflect the light better, and they have a lovely gradient to them to make the color less uniform all the way around. I have a few pairs of Soom silicone eyes with pupils, but I almost never use them.

There's actually a Flickr group for Soom silicone eyes as well that might be worth checking out: http://www.flickr.com/groups/soomeyes/

Sethrea - sure! I'll work on that and post the pictures. But, basically, it's streaks of black leaking out of the pupil into the iris. You can't really tell if you are looking at a doll from afar, but if you take a close-up shot of the face, then you'll see the wonky pupils.

whitewolf - in my case, it's not the putty. I do use silicone earplugs for glass and urethane eyes, but not for silicone eyes. For silicone ones, I use the stuff Soom provides or similar putties.

Malaryush - I really like how Soom eyes reflect light and photograph, but I do get annoyed with the dust. I usually take a damp cotton swab and wipe them off once in a while. It works pretty well, but it has to be done often (pretty much before any photo sessions).

kaschan502 - I'm sorry to hear about your job. I hope that you are able to find a new one soon.

Anneke - I'd recommend looking for alternate putty. Silicone is fine in the short term, but over the years the silicone putty will 'melt' into the silicone eyes, distorting the shape of the eye and discoloring it. Though, I wish Soom would send better putty with their eyes - their stuff gets dry and brittle quite fast .

Sooo... anyone thinking we might be seeing a Rosette NYCC exclusive this year? The NYCC announcement is up on the Rosette site (and not the Idealian one, suggesting it's not just that all announcements are spammed to all of Soom's sites).

I'd love to see the unveiling of a new Rosette character/sculpt. Maybe even one with a con-exclusive alternate outfit (they could give her a super heroine costume and have her fit right in at the convention ).

The unveiling of the first in a line of boys would be amazing, too (I haven't even got my two girls home yet, but I'm already dying for some long-legged boys to keep them company ).

I just hope that whatever they do, they keep the same system as last year where most of the con things were also available on the website, for those of us stuck in countries that aren't America!

I second that idea for those of us in America that can't afford to go to NYCC! xD

I've made a new dress for Ophelia again! I'm glad I managed to achieve this slightly thin and 'crumpled' look for the top, it's supposed to be victorian underwear, haha!

Though I do not know if it's so appropriate for a 13-year-old lady to sit around in her underwear while her teacher is around...

Ivory that dress is incredible! I love it!

Last year they had the Mega Gem guy (Pholoneous? I don't keep track of their boy dolls) and two new MSD sized dolls, the donkey tiny, and Super Gem girl Alex as the only sculpt that was exclusively made for the convention.

I hope this year if they do make a Rosette exclusive for the convention, it will be in the same vein as Alex and have ELF EARS! I don't know why I bother hoping for that though, I can't get another doll XD Though I third the motion that they make everything at the convention available online! For those of us also in America who live SO FAR AWAY from New York we may as well be in another country, lol...
