Loki's Mom, Aww, I adore that photo of your Laika!! x3 Her pose is so innocent and natural... is she waiting for some fishies to surface?

Kim, Congrats on Reina's homecoming!! I wonder how she will look as a redhead with a new face-up... your dolls are always so creatively individualistic. ^^

hobbywhelmed, Your girls are so brave, taking photos with dragonflies and other mysterious flying creatures!!

Larin-Lazet, Mikayela is gorgeous!! Her long eyelashes!!

Shannon M., Your girls do look like a group of friends hanging out for the weekend. I especially love how sleepy-eyed Eden looked like she had just been dragged out of bed for the photo!! xD

    Jane, Thanks for the hugs!! >o< Actually I haven't heard from BF for months!! The last bit of news I've was from February -- when she was still waiting for her face-up. ;o;

limedragon, Oooh, Louie and Benjamin are my favorite WC boys, too!! ...Though Flora has the potential to be a very cute boy as well! xD In the beginning, I did worry if WC clothes would fit over Tommy's dandy body -- especially since my Louie has the ver.1 WC boy body (a.k.a. "the beanpole"). It was really a surprise how perfect the fit is! On the TF boy body, WC clothes actually look better and more tailored than MSD/Little Gem/KDF clothes!

But since the calves of TF boys are wider by about 0.3mm, WC trousers with fitted or non-stretch leg openings might be a little challenging to pull on. Also, due to how fitted WC shoes and boots are, I had to take off Tommy's socks prior to wear.

Here's a quick and blurry pic of Cecil trying on my WC Louie's fullset.

rainwaltz, Such bad news for my wallet that WC dresses also fit TF girls!!

xaya, Thanks for your comments and encouragement!! I've been trying to take a patient, laissez-faire, "she will come when she comes" approach, but now I see I might have to be more aggressive in reminding BF they still have an open transaction on their hands!! >_<"

almyki, With all of the purchases you're already getting for him, it sounds like it won't be long now till you bring your wishlisted TF boy home!! xD

shisukii, Haruki simply looks adorable in his new outfit!! x3 His "Time Mage" staff is especially awesome.

hobbywhelmed, xaya & Bonberry, thank you for the kind words. I love the park where I shot this. There are so many places to have fun pictures.. I'm not sure if she was contemplating or waiting for fishies (there are quite a few in that little pond, as well as a turtle and some frogs). It's one of my favourite pictures.

Goodness! You've been waiting that long?! Yes, a definitely poke reminder is necessary, especially if she was getting a faceup in February.

Another picture of Laika in (a different section of) the park..

Thanks for the feedback guys, especially Bonberry's extremely detailed reply. I think I'll end up with a BF over RL as I really like their simple face-up so much more.

Another question for you guys, is the default face-up for the Spring Emilie exactly the same as the basic's?

Heartstrings, the Spring Emilie faceup looks fairly basic (ie: no eyelashes, which usually come on the limiteds), but the color palette is a bit different from the one I have. Spring Emilie is a bit more peach (to go with the hair color, I suspect), which my choice Emilie has more pink tones in hers.

But Bluefairy face-ups can vary a little: it's subtle but I suspect it is the difference between whoever is doing the face-up at the time.

I do like Spring Emilie's dress, though. If I didn't already have an Emilie, I'd get her. The price difference is really about the outfit/wig. It depends on if you like the outfit, I guess?

So far behind in the thread--love seeing everyone's pics! Kim, congrats on your new girl! Looking forward to seeing how you transform her!

Have any of the White Choice dolls started coming in yet? Or is it too soon? Can't wait to see what everyone got! (Still am full of woe that I couldn't jump in then!)

almyki, Good idea to try first, I'm sure they don't mind if you bring your doll with you and try both, the feet for colourmatch and the shoes! ;D Both the better I say. I have some dolls which are even older than yours and I'm going to buy them tiptoes, despite the colour difference. They'll use socks or so. It's great to buy things for doll, even if they're not home yet! Then you have something when they come. ^^

    Larin-Lazet
, Awww thank you so much. ^__^ That makes me very happy!

hobbywhelmed, I think it looks like a small fly, but the girl seems not to care, I love her wig, it's Monique?

shisukii, Oh Harukiiii! Long time no see! He always looks so fashionable, I like this style. ^^

Bonberry, Cecil is stylish. ^^ And what a fabulous little pipe! I'm in awe for how long have you waited without asking, do ask them, at least then you know what's going on!

Loki's Mom, ^^ I love to see dolls outside, Laika has clearly gone into an adventure.

Heartstrings, I have to agree with Reynardine, Emilie is the same. ^^

And just a little notice, even if this is just for Shinyfairies and not Tinyfairies, (already updated SF thread), the SF May (1st and 2nd) editions will have an orderperiod and then they'll put up 3rd SF May, I think this third looks more like TF May again. ^^ Notice about it. I love the first SF May, I have to photograph my SF May with Sylvia. They'd look adorable together. ^^

Nuuuu not while I am poor! I've wanted a Shiny Fairy and I love the first edition of the May sculpt so much more than any of the others.

Version three I love much more than the other two! Augh, Bluefairy, why do you do this to me?

Reynardine, it's too soon--they start coming in August, I believe!

Phew, finally red all the posts! Can't reply to all though, so here:

    Kim: congratulations on your girl!!
hobbywhelmed: it almost looks like a pinky ring instead of a bug x'D But still a nice summery picture.
shisukii: that is one amazing outfit!! He (she?) looks gorgeous in it ^0^
Bonberry: was the pipe included in the fullset? It is an amazing prop either way, especiallyfor a young gentleman like your Cecil. Hopefully he will soon get his companion, when Bluefairy has been poked!
Loki's Mom: nature is the best backdrop, isn't it? ^^

I really like the Shiny Fairy's size and proportions, but so far none of the sculpts have really spoken out to me... So I'm not eyeing one one myself, but I sure am curious to see who will get the new type! Xaya, do post some pictures of your Fairy's together

It is indeed. I love to try to get out. Haven't been able to in a long time.

Reynardine: Shannon M. is right. I calculate my Niky won't be shipping until about mid-August. Not 100% sure exactly when.

*de-lurking* Hi guys, does anyone know if BF normal resin would be a good match for Dollzone NS-yellow? Thanks in advance!!!!

Nope, Dollzone is too yellow and too light ^^" You might be able to blush the Dollzone resin to match Bluefairy's, though.

I haven't seen any DZ yellows lately. Have seen a pink, but that was too pink. I'd say BF is probably in the middle. Pinkish-to-peachy-pink. Hopefully someone here has both or has a meet where they could see both!

Thanks, Pete and hobbywhelmed guess it's not a good idea trying to match an Olive girl head with a DZ body ^_^

If you're game for doing the blushing work, the BF heads (or at least Niky) do fit nicely on DZ bodies, and my older BF head (unknown age, got her second hand four years ago) is not too bad a match to some of the DZ resins I'd compared her to (original plan for a body before I found the Island Doll one). Of course, I'm highly UN-intimidated by blushing resins to match, been doing it from my first doll.

Loki's Mom, Laika is quite the explorer! I love outdoor photoshoots but haven't been brave enough to venture out to public places with my crew yet!

Heartstrings, No problem, glad I could help! Both BF and RL are excellent choices, but now that I notice you're waiting for Momocolor Elle, I've to agree that BF and Momocolor seem to have complementary aesthetics and together would make great siblings/family! ^^

Pete, Yes, the pipe was included in the fullset. xD By the way, Cecil wants to thank you for your kind compliments! He detests dressing out-of-character, so finding/buying outfits for him is always a costly and time-consuming ordeal.

Loki's Mom, xaya, Pete, Thanks for the support! I've just given BF a poke, now I'll just have to wait and see what they've to say. *fingers crossed* =,=

Bonberry> Thank you for your opinion!^^ Cecil looks great in that outfit.

Can anyone tell me if BF's NS has changed throughout the years? More peachier, paler or still kinda the same? I think I've only seen NS 2008/09 so I'm sort of curious.

It's paler and less pink now than it's ever been. Or it was as of winter 2010 when I got Kurenai and Keisa.

Good luck. I hope things work out okay.

As for the exploration.. it helps to have others around. That day was a doll meet, although a number of the pics I took were after most everyone had gone home. The one by the pond and the one below were with other doll peeps about.

A better view of Laika.. she doesn't wear this wig as much now, she uses a Monique Gold Yuri instead (same colour and similar cut, but longer).

Killing two birds with one stone: One demonstrating my usual doll setup (someone asked for that a few pages back?) and one showing Miu in a Rosenlied Wednesday's Child dress.

    Mew. by rainwaltz, on Flickr

I usually set up for SD dolls, so the sofa and banisters in the background look slightly out of proportion for Miu. If I want a plain white background, I use large pieces of white cardboard taped so that they can stand behind as a backdrop. Sometimes I drape cloth over it for a more interesting look. If I'm taking photos indoors, I use studio lights on tripods because my house is really dark. XD For this photo there were three: the main one right in front, a strong one to our right to provide the rim light on her hair and sofa back, plus a fill light off to our left.

The fit of my Wednesday's Child dresses are good. Miu is on the full blossom body so I thought they might be tight in the chest area, but it fits really well! I haven't tried WC shoes or wigs yet because they have few choices to pick from, and I'm not a fan of the fibre RL uses for their wigs.

    --

    Catching up on the discussion~

Kim Congratulations on your lovely May V.! I love that sculpt, Reina looks so delicate yet with just a touch of sultriness to her. (OT: Is that you with Chris Hemsworth in your profile pic?! /MAJOR ENVY ALL OVER) *^*

Bonberry You have that wonderful princely WC set! Cecil looks handsome in that outfit, and the pipe made me giggle. XD I really wanted to buy some of the limited boy outfits, but seeing as I don't have any mini boys... :< Recently there have been a lot of lovely boy outfits, from RL and other companies alike. Volks' detective set in particular was soooooo tempting. I hope Bluefairy pulls through for you, it's unusual to have their dolls take so long.

Re: Dolls outdoors, I am totally the weird person who likes bringing dolls out! I have a photo of me being surrounded by 20 or so people who stopped to gawk. XD

Re: SF May, I love the first edition best because of her teeth, then the third. I think the second really looks more like BF Diana than TF May... something about the eyes, which lack the lovely inquisitive look May has. The third version seems to be more symmetrical than the other two, though -- is it only me who thinks the first May's nose is a little off-centre?
