Soom Super Gem Discussion (Basic, Limited and Special) - part 2

This will be the first time I've posted here! I recently have become completely soomed. I love them. All of them. But my ABSOLUTE favorite is Dia- though like many I like her as a male! He fits my OC Kit perfectly and I am happy to say that I acquired a Dia head and sent him to Soft_Poison (Who also has a dia boy) for a face up. Thus I just wanted to share the picture she took of him now that his face up is done with my fellow soom fanatics. Here his is, My soom Dia with his simply beautiful Face up by Soft_Poison. (The photo was also taken by her <3)

Your _love_less Your Sphaler is so beautiful, he looks like ivory. The special eyes look great in him, too! I think he was less popular because of the blue lips, it wasn't a very flattering look for the poor man! But once you take off the default makeup, he is very versatile...and handsome

Oh yes Kahdrill Dia's are just beautiful! I love all soom dolls but Dia has got to be my favorite. Dia is what made me soomed.

Oh! You're right Fishcake I didnt even notice that! He does! Thats funny! Sometimes I DO do RPs where Kit is a water spirit but I didnt realize it fit him so well! Haha. Kit is actually A japanese call boy from the red light district (Putting it in gentle terms haha) - thats his back story anyway! But he now has a boyfriend so thats in the past. But hes still a flirtatious little thing- old habits die hard~ <3

My Heliot girl is finally complete!

The match could have been better, but I'm okay with it. Heliot is an oldish sculpt and with a completely new body, how can I expect it to match perfectly?
But in the end, I'm in love.

Heliot girls are so cute--I have not wanted him for a boy, but as a girl she is soo darling it's tempting! I love her cute sassy look, Akatsuki!

Here's one of my Sphaler guys, helping carry stuff out to the yard:



He's on those big Chalco hooves, and I love them for standing--they are super heavy, which is why you can often find them on the MP for a reasonable price, but they work better than any other hooves I have tried, especially on uneven ground. He even sits pretty well, though in a hakama or kimono he needs underwear, since his legs flop open

I asked Soom if they are going to use the new female SG bodies for their current Basics, hoping they answer my question soon. I would hate to spend extra just to get the new body on a Limited doll.

oo; I only just got around to going back to reading about the old monthlies (the combination of some of the typefaces and the english translations makes it hard!). I totally did not know that Galena and Chalco were supposed to be husband and wife.

Can you think of a worse combination? Serious Galena with goofball bisexual Chalco? No wonder they had tiny terrors. And you shouldn't read the backstories. They'll make your head explode..or your brain turn to stone, as Sphaler's does now and then.

Thank you so much Akatsuki! I was a little apprehensive about the blue eyebrows but because his hair is blue- I thought black would pop too much and look silly against the blue hair. So he was stuck with blue haha.

By the way- You're girl is so lovely! I just love when people gender bend a mold! She looks great! <3

fishcake: xD Yeah, the backstories on many of their sculpts just... don't fit. At all. So I guess it goes to say that Galena and Chalco are just too bizarre to be a couple. Especially since he's supposed to be a god of wealth, peace, harvest and comfort. Uhm, what? xD; Totally not getting that vibe, or that he wanted to be a nomad and thus left the day after he married Galena. Makes no sense what-so-ever.

EDIT: By any chance, none of you happened to spring for the recent Beryl SO, have you? There are plenty of variables for the why not's, but darn is the waiting room rather quiet and little!

The sculpts are similar, but you don't want to think about it too much since right there in Sphaler's family tree...is a horse. "Yep, that horse out there in the paddock, that's my uncle. He likes beer." And it's written in such a understated way, like this happens all the time.
I sort of gave up and just made all my Sphalers kirin, which are so goofy and chimerical they can wear any Soom fantasy part.

Oh gosh whenever I try to read the little stories.... I remember trying to read Breccia's the other day and I was just like... what? what did I just read?? fdfskjgdf but I give them an A++ just for sheer entertainment value haha.

Anyway, does anyone happen to have a Coquina and a perhaps a bunch of eyes sitting around?;; Soom lists her as using 16mms and it looks like Soom's 16mm eyes have an ~8.5mm iris according to this size chart I am looking at...? Buuut I'd like to get ED eyes but it looks like their 16mms can be ordered with either an 8mm or 9mm iris - I am not entirely sure how much difference its makes in the end (woo, .5mm in either direction!!1) but urethanes are expensive, and I don't own any eyes with irises those sizes and so I dunno wat do >: I do like seeing the whites of the eyes, but I want a cute sweet look so I don't want the eyes to look too small weh weh halp.

Also, awesome choice. Kirins and chimeras are both awesome in my book. Sadly, I'm one of those boring people who admires the fantasy parts, but can't see many (if any) of my characters using them. At least not yet. They come around with a female super gem with proper feline paws/eras/tail and I'm doomed. Dx; ...I don't know whether to hope for this or pray they don't do it.

Renarys: Yeah, it just literally makes your brain try to implode. XD You have to wonder what the text really says in Korean, though. I bet it makes a whole lot more sense... in that odd way that mythology (especially Greco-Roman anyone?) tends to have.

As for eyes.. oo; I am still new to the eye world with my girls, I am of no help. x.X;
