Thread: Fairyland PukiPuki Discussion Part 17

Hi everyone! I hope you don't mind me popping in with my pukisha. Shame on me, I've neglected him for a couple of months, so he is a bit sad and thoughtful on this picture.

He is adorable! Can I ask where you purchased his boots?

    "Gangsta Puki"! How great!!!!

I too am very picky about my wigs. While the link is nice and extremely helpful, there's nothing like hearing from actual users.

Wigs. Honestly. The accumulation of not-rights gets rather expensive.

That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. The expense. And with the economy it's so difficult to sell stuff. I've had things listed on the marketplace for ages! Plus I only have 1 puki (and the other one I want won't be here for a while and he's a boy) so I have no use for a ton of extra wigs lying about. -sigh- I wish companies had a better return policy sometimes and that international shipping wasn't so freaking nuts.

Hullo! I'm nearly new to this. I had a puki several years ago (three, maybe four?) but gave him up for adoption. Sigh...

I was hoping to be able to flip a rather large doll and buy two pukis with the funding (and possibly yet another [ugh] with a paycheck), but I've noticed that the doll market has crawled to a trickle during the time I've been gone. Woe am I!

I've resorted to making wigs. Briar is bald so he's easy enough to clothe now he has his hat, but Bea needs hair. So I got some free fur swatches and had a go making. I'll post pictures when I finally get to hemming them (it's the fiddly bit)

Sewing for these little guys is a lot of trial and error, especially since I do it by hand and it's a learning process. I know practice makes perfect, but on my rare successes my clothes look so raw compared to those with the talent that I get discouraged.

I tried making a wig once; there's got to be a way to cut the material without leaving a hack job along the seam.

If you cut the faux fur from the back using a n X-acto or razor blade you can carefully cut through the backing without cutting the long fibers. HTH

I can never keep up with these discussion threads about the FL tinies, but I thought I'd drop by and introduce my modded Madeleine, Kitso, master woodsman and survivor.

He makes his own clothes from stolen scraps, which is why they're so raggedy.

    Welcome Satoru
I totally know what you mean: I have just realized that I will have to part with one of my MSD's in order to buy a new tiny I've had my eye on – and I will have to take whatever price I can get ✽double-sigh

Darkwind: Thanks for the nice comment about Spam as a delinquent. I ordered some 1/6-sized goggles for him and they came with a free gun ✽gasp✽

…and Wigs! I hear 'ya! That's why I recommended Monique: At least they have an exchange policy.

Thanks! I tried to get his ears as smooth as I could and someday I may re-mod them. He's had his eyes and mouth reshaped too, especially the mouth.
Great shots, Wilkies, I love their wee outfits.

Trying to find eyes in this size is kinda tricky for me, is Fairyland still making eyes in this size?

Pukis are sent from Fairyland with default Glib acrylic eyes, they do sell some of course, but you can find these eyes at other places, like Denver doll. Otherwise they take various other 8mm eyes rather well (the last discusion seemed to come to the idea that for many sculpt low dome eyes are best, if I read it all right). I know Safrin acrylic eyes at 8mm fit pretty good
