Here's a timeline of the events

I entered a layaway with masumi_zu on 10/3/11 and I made my final payment on 3/29/12.

The last communication I received from masumi_zu through DoA was on 3/26.

I managed to find her via facebook. I messaged her on 4/13 and received a response on 4/16 stating that she needed my address to ship the dolls. I messaged her with the information and waited for the tracking number.

On 4/18 she messaged me to tell me she would send a picture of the dolls packaged up before mailing them off. I messaged her afterwards to ask for the pictures and tracking number again on 4/22 and again today.

On 4/26 I posted on a facebook group requesting she get in touch with me and for anyone who knows who irl to let her know it's urgent.

I will be writing a certified letter to her address this evening in the event she is having internet problems. If she is unable to get online then she would have a hard copy of my address.



I'm running low on patience as it's about to be a month since this layaway was finished. I've also received very little communication since the 3/26 and I'm becoming worried. I understand that life and school happens but I'd just like a response and an expected date for my dolls to be shipped. And proof of their shipping.

If I don't hear anything by 12am CST on 4/30 then I will file a paypal claim and a police report with the Vancouver police.

You seem like such a nice girl, masumi_zu, and I don't want to have to get this drastic. Please get in touch with me soon!

I decided to give her a couple more days after the 30th of April thinking that she would have exams being that she's in college.

Today I filed my paypal dispute and attempted to get in contact with the Vancouver police. They told me to file a local police report with the Alabama police department and that it is up to the local police to contact them to further their investigation.

I've still have received no contact from masumi_zu on DoA, in email or over facebook.

I will attempt to file a police report with the local police here within a few days and will update this thread when I do. I'll also include the results of the report if any.

I didn't mention this to start with but the doll I had on layaway were: Volks SD Nana on an SD13 body and a YOSD Kun. The total of these dolls was $1,200 CAD.

Today I was refunded $167.82 CAD via my paypal claim for my final layaway payment ruling in my favor. The time for the other payments has elapsed. I still have heard no response from masumi_zu on DoA or anywhere else.

I'm still out $1032.18/$1,200.00 CAD and the rest may have to be recovered from the efforts of the police. I'm still working to collect the necessary evidence to submit to the authorities.

I sent masumi_zu (the address was provided by someone who has done business with her previously and who's identity will remain anonymous) a registered letter requesting that she return the dolls or issue a refund immediately. This was sent on May 4th, 2012. It was returned on May 11th, 2012 which indicates that she refused to accept the letter or the address is now invalid. Either way, I'm out another $15.00 USD in efforts to contact her. Not to mention my time spent writing countless emails/messages and speaking with authorities.

If masumi_zu is seeing this, it would be in your best interest to refund me the $1,032.18 CAD and avoid the possibility of being prosecuted.

Besides the police investigation, I am now at a loss as to what to do other than continuing my efforts to contact her.

masumi_zu has not returned to the forum since 27MAR. Please keep DoA updated as to your progress with this case.

I managed to get in contact with masumi_zu today and she stated that a resolution would be made between now and Friday, May 26th. I'll keep this thread updated as to whether or not she keeps her promise and does the right thing.

I've been waiting for the dolls and a tracking number since our last contact and still nothing. I've had a lot of irl issues crop up lately (a tree fell on my home and we had an emergency move because of it as well, finals and now problems with registering for the Fall semester) so I haven't tried making contact until today.

I saw that she was online on the 13th so she's obviously well enough to check here. But can't make a simple trip to the post office.

I had my boyfriend try and call her number today but he couldn't get an answer. He thinks it might even be disconnected. I'll try calling it myself once my home phone is in working order. And no news from the police regarding anything that can be done.

The police still have no news for me. I live in a somewhat high crime area so I suspect they've been busy with more pressing matters than an online doll theft. But I have been keeping in contact with them and will update this thread if they give me any new information. I messaged her again here on DoA and any other contact information I have.

I also tried calling the number myself, the same one she initially answered to, and it's definitely disconnected now.

I don't know what else to do besides get in contact with people she might know or Vancouver doll owners and see if they know a way to get in touch with her in person since over the internet isn't working for me. I also found out via her facebook that she turned 18 just this summer. Had this knowledge been apparent at the time of the transaction then I wouldn't have done business with her.

I feel this transaction needs to be made known to her parents. Maybe then some responsibility would be exercised on her end.

So no real news on my end.
