Thank you. I really like how he turned out. I keep practicing my face up skills and make improvements when I learn new skills. I can't wait to finish Sidonia, and take some photos of the three of them.

Most SD13-17 boys have fit, muscley torsos and then these stringy little arms!
Heheh... Those toothpick arms on meaty torsos always make me laugh. Granado boys certainly have muscles you can sink your teeth into - all over!

Will you be making your own bow and arrows for this guy? I'd like to see him in one of the costumes you make and actually putting those lovely muscles to use! ^^

You can have some added confirmation from me - I trade my Volks and Granado heads/bodies quite often and can't notice a lick of difference (in any lighting).

kfuhustle - I can't wait to see what you do with your Sidonia, either! Your two boys look fantastic, so I'm eager to see what you come up with for her. XD

Sanity...? What is this word of which you speak?

I do so love his sexy shoulders, but in testing some posing tonight, I found I'm going to need to wire his right elbow to get him to come to a proper archery full draw. Ah well, easily done. I got him with jointed hands, and the fingers may need some light wire too, just to hold the proper draw position on the string.

I've been cutting out some clothes for him, but I need to get my sewing machine back from my Mom's house so I can sew them up. Surprisingly, several items I already had in my clothes drawers fit him. I got him into some nice green trousers and some boots that used to belong to another doll, and both fit him perfectly! He'll get a full forester's outfit eventually.

I tried to use some techniques to bend some wood for a bow but it snapped. I may end up using wire and Apoxie Sculpt, but he's definitely getting a bow. I've already cut six or seven arrow shafts for him, but I'm hesitant to try to fletch such tiny little things, and they need Apoxie points too. I've cut out some leather for a quiver already.

Once this boy is done, he's getting a hunting photoshoot in the woods!

I think of them as "Tyrannosaurus Rex arms".

Rosslyn, can't wait to see your archer photoshoot! I have seen doll-size bows cut out of wood, in the bent shape. Or could you make the bow in three pieces? The grip as a solid piece, and the two arms out of something bendy?

Witty, what's happening with your lost delivery? Has it gone back to China yet?

Wah... You're already 'full steam ahead' with this guy!
Lucky that you already had some stuff that fit him. Especially getting boots over those calves! ^^ Given that they appear to be so large and thick though, Granado boys turn out to be surprisingly lean, don't they? I was quite surprised at the amount of stuff they fit into.

What techniques did you use to try to bend your wood? You shouldn't need to steam it for all that long, given its size... It could simply be the wood you were trying to use. Older wood doesn't bend that easily (even with steaming) and some types of wood are more brittle than others. My high school woodworking teacher advocated shaping your wood on the same day it was cut. Hehe. He then had us trying to shape wood that had likely been stored in the tech room for the past ten years!

Whatever you decide to use for it, I can't wait to see your guy drawing back his bow! Like everyone else, I'm really looking forward to your photoshoot.

SD13 works. He has fairly small feet for his size. Just watch out for things that need to fit over the calves.

Thank you Alewife! Now I must only pay my Chaka!

Alewife: It went back to China and EMS did an "investigation" but now they've reshipped it to the states yesterday. It's still chilling in China but should hopefully reach the states soon. I was worried Granado wasn't going to be very helpful in the beginning but in the last week they've really been on top of it and keeping me updated, so hopefully everything will be resolved soon. Haha sorry I didn't want to info dump you guys.

I was wondering what happened with that.... Glad to see it's been sorted out, though! Not the most pleasant of experiences, but hopefully your package shows up soon. ^^

Some things they've never shown before, they say.... Hmmm. Could be a mini body. ^^ Have they actually ever shown any updates for a smaller body, or has it just been rumour?

I do wonder what Crocus has planned for that random chunk of coral(?) he seems to be making. I still think it has to be some kind of headpiece for a future sculpt.

Sanity...? What is this word of which you speak?

  15. #635
I remember that they had posted the mini body somewhere...
If the new thing is "never shown", I think that won't be mini doll or body... Maybe a new head or new project?

I agree. It is like a headpiece or or a pair of wings.^^

  17. #637
They're teasing us! It looks like two separate pieces, so maybe a headpiece?

I wish I could go to Dollism and see their booth! Is anyone here able to go?

I wish someone will take pictures on that day so we can see those "surprising things".. Just hope someone living in Hong Kong is a "Granadoer".

Really? I don't remember ever actually seeing any picture updates about it - just Ikaru mentioning that they were considering making one. Could've missed it though.

I wish I could go to the event... It'd be so much fun! Maybe Granado will post photos of their own booth afterwards, if nothing else. Something like that would be nice to see. ^^

I hope they can take a few pictures of the booth. I'd love to see.

Here's my guess on the mystery coral piece: Caliban or Ariel from Shakespeare's Tempest? Full fathom five my father lies, of his bones are coral made?
