5StarDoll Tinies Discussion Part 2

Benjamin has a slight scratch on his faceup. I don't even know quite where it came from, but you can see it if the light hits just right. Old pic, but it shows the scratch really well, right next to his nose



Sorry he's so crazy eyes there. There's a reason he doesn't wear that pair of eyes anymore. They're too high domed and there's no way to position him that he doesn't just look O__O

I'm generally pretty easy going with my dolls (they sit out on a shelf and not in their boxes, I touch their faces to pose them, usually don't bother with a faceup cover when traveling, change their clothes a lot, etc), but faceplants are scary. I recently had my DoD Calla faceplant onto brick during a photoshoot. Her sealant chipped on her nose, but a little magic eraser buffing and you can't tell. Luckily there really isn't color on her nosetip to get scratched off. I'm not sure if that would work for Benjamin, since it's on his cheek, and he's got that semi-translucent environmental resin that 5Stardoll used to use.

cowpewter - would it work to do a very thin layer of MSC over the face-up to have the scratch show less? (I don't know if that would work, I have never tried)

Scratches, rubbing off, msc flaking, chipping is all part of having a doll with a face up. It can happen from the doll just sitting untouched. Over time is just wears away, I guess. My Yunae had her face up redone a little less than a year ago and it's all messed up. I'll have to get it done again.

As for the boy vs girl thing. They are almost the same height and girth. There's not too big of a difference that I've noticed. But then again my Yunae has the old body type and style.

Mine have the 'new' body - and they can wear each others clothes. I see little difference.

I loved my tiny at first but her body wasn't really what I expected. She was my first doll as well so i really wasn't sure WHAT to expect. I'm currently trying to sell her. But she is beautiful nontheless

Everybodies dolls are so darned cute! My Jayne has some chipping on her nose but I don't worry too much about it..I like to play with them. I am visiting Gettysburg PA and brought all 3 tinies with me! I hope to get some decent pics of them tomorrow.

I got my Quintus twins today! Me and a friend ordered together and had so much fun doing the box opening x3 Mine are the readhead and blonde!

I just got my Tong Tong today and she is so awesome, however, I can't quite understand how to change her hands. Can anyone help me? Can I just unhook them or do I have to wedge the hook with something to keep it from slipping inside. I have changed out other dolls hands but hers seem kinda hard as they don't want to pull forward from her body much. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

Oh ok I got it now.. . it was really hard because of that extra wrist joint. I took off her head so I could stretch it out more. Now she is a cute little kitty girl. Will post some pics soon.

Ok, here is little Astrid, she is the Tong Tong doll. I just grabbed this dress off one of my MSD dolls so it is a little big on her. The dress was actually an under dress for a fairy costume I was making so excuse the zigzagging on it. It was never meant to be seen. I love this look so much though, I'm going to make Astrid her own little green dress, preferably shorter so you can see her cute little stockings.

hehe... yeah Rin... that is what she is saying for sure. I just love this line of tinies, they are so adorable!! PaOla, awww... sorry about your Quintus, I really like them as girls too. He's cute anyway. I like the shoes they sent you. I got a white wig similar to the one you got. I didn't like it on Astrid so I put it on my RS Yao doll. It fits kinda if you really cram it on, and it makes her look like Marilyn Monroe.

My Pam got a new face-up too A little more pink and some accents and now she doesn't look that pale. I find the white skinned dolls difficult to give good face-up.

I wasn't going to buy a Quintus, I really wasn't. I'm really not a fan of half closed or squinting eyes. But I now have one on layaway. After seeing all of your great pics I became taken with this cutie.
