Loki's mom~ Is the Canadian dollar really that much different from the US dollar atm? I checked Fashonista stuff at our walmart and they were just under 6, and the dolls right around 12. Glad you found some of the dolls on sale though, that's pretty awesome. Our Wallyworld's selection was -absolutely- aweful. And with me on the prowl for some decent clothes for my son's Logan... a 6 buck outift would be really nice to have... I'd grab a doll... but he'd get mad at me for giving it away or tossing it out >.<

You know, it's not the exchange rate because we're pretty close to par with the US dollar. It's just ridiculous pricing. For example, Michaels up here is generally 40% more in pricing. They send the price tags with both prices on them and they sometimes forget (or miss) taking the US pricing off and there's a huge difference in prices (something $4.99US is $8.49 here, even at times when the Canadian dollar was up to $1.10US). It's really annoying and there are absolutely times when it's still cheaper to go south, buy something and deal with duties at the border, than buy it here. My WallyWorld had almost nothing by way of Ken Fashionista stuff, just a couple dolls. They have been abysmal the past 2-3 years in the Barbie department.

We have a lot of things with "canadian" prices on them (mostly books) and they've always fluxed right around the "nearly double" kinda space up until for a while there I saw some stuff that was like... only a 25% mark up. But still... Thats just not cool >.< But if it makes you feel any better... our walmart has very little of interest in the -Ken- end of things. :/ not that I expect it to be much solace...

YAY! all my dollies will have shoes sooooooon! ^o^ Poor barefoot Lotus has shoes on order! ^_^ I'm looking soooo forward to her actually having shoes! And they look enough like fancy egyptian sandals for me to be like "yep those will work" *makes very little sense atm*

yay for Lotus! Mine went a while without shoes. I only have like 5 shoes total in their sizes (boys and girls)
I need to get my boys some shoes, they have like 2 pair that they use in between the 3 of them..lol. I think my girls might be ok...but I think I am in much need of shopping for shoes for all my boys (MSD, SD included). Yep off to go look at some shoes I think..lol.

A single outfit here varies between 3 and 6 dollars, those fashion packs with pieces for about three outfits are 13-15. Basically what you are describing in your area of Ontario isn't that different than my area of Michigan.

Often I wish I could time travel back to the 80s when I was a kid with a bunch of Barbies. Not for the prices (though that would be nice too) but for the selection; I remember an entire store aisle of clothing, now I'm lucky if there are three different choices. Of course 80s Barbie clothes wouldn't fit Anjeni, but Ken's might, and at least they had more than one, or two, outfits for him back then.

I feel bad for Lotus mostly because I've bought 2 pairs of shoes for her now... and the one pair didn't fit >.< Luckily I know this pair will fit... Cus Raesha's girls are wearing them like >.> on the first page XD Of my resin kids... Only Cassie has an abundance of real shoes (like 4 pair?) Poor val only has one pair... and I can't ever find Tenis shoes for dudes that LOOK like they are for DUDES. He needs some stompin boots, And Cassie always needs more shoes... but Lotus... she was always gonna be a pain cus she is just persnickety. I just can't buy her -any- shoes they have to either look egyptian, oriental or they have to be a purple that works with her slowly growing closet.

On a less dolly and more irritating note... I have to get my place ready for a bedbug check and spray cus APPARENTLY someone in our building has them T_T DO NOT WANT!
