Migidoll General Discussion - Part II

Hey, does anyone here have a migidoll Ryeong or can show me some pics? I found a few but I found they weren't truly detailed enough ^^;;

amiieey - I bought a Ryeong recently, he's already been shipped, but I don't know when he is going to arrive, maybe next week. As soon as I get him I'll take pictures of the blank head and post here.

Same here. It was to the point that I wanted to sell him I was so frustrated but finally he is working correct. I was so happy I about cried from relief.

Now I just need a body for him since hes borrowing. :/

Well I'm really glad you got it worked out and didn't have to sell him. That would have been too sad!

I know the feeling. XD I feel like poor Migi boys are the ones who are bodiless the most... all of them doomed to be floating heads....

Meanwhile in Alexis-land, he's finally back in commission after I met up with his faceup artist! I apologize for this crappy pic but I wanted to show him off now that he's all settled! May it never happen again!

Don't talk to me about face ups! >< My boy has an identity crisis. A part of me wants to wipe off his face up and redo it (and don't do eyelashes this time) but the eyelashes are a part of his character and another part wants to keep it. I'm also stuck between choosing a punk-ish style and a more softer style. Maybe I should give him a face up that works well for both styles. (I don't know if it'll work)--help! -_-

Here's a link to my Migi's on flickr, more girl MD's than boys in it, although I sadly have to say that both Cho and Owen are boys in the group. Oscar isn't up there yet because she hasn't got a faceup, but here she is on the Granado Nuevo body nudely hanging out with SO Cass. Hope this helps?

I really enjoyed seeing your pics on Flickr. I like your Kleod and Kagehisa. Both very handsome. It's nice to see a forum/photos on Migidolls, as I am anxious to learn about them.

I felt the same way with Demeter. I had a clear image of what he should look like (I've drawn and had the character for over ten years now) but upon doing face ups none of it felt right. So finally I just let go of the "Need for his character" look and free styled it in a feeling. Ive happier with his face up now then ever.

Hullo migi-experts!

Does anyone know if an older batch migidoll would match a iplehouse SID? Slightly off in tone is fine, but I'm a stickler for proportion. I'm hoping because of yujins large features it might work...if anyone knows, or has a better body suggestion it would be super helpful!

I did the face up a while ago but had not the time to post photos.
Well... it is not bad for my first try. But I messed some things up, for example the lips... I sealed them before I checked and noticed the stupid error on his upper lips. Now he has some point over it and the lip ddoesn't look symmetrical.
I think I was also impatient with drying the MSC coats. I was also in a hurry (now I know I must have a free day to do this...). And next time I will be going to thin out the acrylics even more. Maybe I correct the lips in a few days, because it really bugs me looking at them. And they are way to dark than I have planned. But at least he matches his yellowed body now and smiles XD'

Oh DarkAsteria I think I saw your boy on DA right? And yeah it's important to let the spray dry, I was so afraid to screw up my face ups so I always waited at least a half hour.
He's creepy but in a good way of course ^^ I hope I get my eyes soon,the tracking page said they were supposed to be on delivery today but I wasn't at home. They didn't even leave a note. I ordered them from Think Pink because they were on stock and wouldn't take long to ship since it's from the Netherlands.

I love this shot. I know the scarf around his eyes look weird but heh how should explain. I did it for a concept shoot. ^^;; Hope you still like the photo

I really enjoy my Jina boy - he is pretty heavy though - but he is going to be spoiled some more. I am currenty waiting on clothes for him [2 hoodies, 3 shirts and a beenie] and for a customized wig from MonstroDesigns. I am excited to see him with his finished look - unless I decide to change his eyes from blue to caramel...still debating it though.

I really were too stressed on that day so I became impatient. I will try to be more careful next time. I think waiting 30 minutes is quite long though XD (especially because I put always a new layer after finishing one layer of color.) It is more time consuming than I have imagined... but I love it so I have to live with that.
And now I have to save money and go shopping for clothes XD

I really love your boy. Especially his hair and the necklaces. Can't wait to see him when he has got his eyes ^^ Actually all Migi boys and girls posted here are wonderful. The sculpts are just beautiful X3

The only thing that bugs me is that Migi is starting to sell the Volks matching resin type again. And I think that would have fitted better to the body I have...

DarkAsteria: Dont worry about being impatient. It happens to us all. I think once you get to that point of annoyance meets frustation with a day or with a faceup ...you are going to irk something up. I've found that if I feel that way towards a face up I just put it down and walk away. Ill come back to it after Ive had some tea or chatted with my sister or friends. Just let myself settle. The more impatient I get the more the face up suffers.

I had no idea that Migi had two different colors of resin again. It's nice though, I wanted my head to match Volks and I thought I'd have to end up blushing it! Just ordered Owen...Hopefully he'll look ok on a girl body!
