Thread: Dear Mine Dear Lover Mini 40cm Discussion Part 1

  1. #201
TrinityInRainbows, welcome to the thread from a fellow Seattle-ite! I actually created a post a while ago showing the posing capabilities of Dear Mine MSD body. You can find it here. Most of your questions are answered in that post

About the bust joint. I generally prefer well engineered bust joints vs. waist joints, but it's all a matter of preference. I have both Irene and Priscilla, and the bust joints are easy to manipulate on both girls (their bodies are identical, except feet - Irene has human feet and Priscilla has more animal-like feet).

When you ask if her make-up "clashes" easily, what exactly do you mean? I have 5 Dear Mine dolls at home, and the face-ups on each of them has held up beautifully over time.

Please ask any other questions you may have!

chibi-kagu, Nelli is gorgeous! I really love that wig on her

Anna , Very nice to meet another Seattlite!
Thank you so much for the information and the pictures! She is so gorgeous!
How would you say the jointed bust is? You said she has the locking groove parts in that, and I actually like that feature a lot! My MSDs waist locks in and out all the time! It's a bit annoying to say the least. Haha. Is it a strong hold?
I saw somewhere in this thread that they are planning to make flat feet too? That'd be a good thing.

As for her makeup, I mean clashy as in the colour scheme. The blues/yellows are complimentary colours, but it seems you could only do so much with the rest to 'match' that. So I am debating getting the basic Irene so I can match her faceup with a lot of different wigs, eyes, clothes, ect.

TrinityInRainbows, I'm glad that thread was helpful to you!

The locks in the bust joint hold very well. I can lock-in her bust into any of the grooves and get a firm hold - I've never had either of my girls snap out of a pose so far! Having the joint at the bust preserves the smooth line of the torso, which I enjoy.

Dear Mine limited face-ups are definitely very colorful! If you want a more neutral scheme, then basics are the way to go. Limited Irene has very smokey eyeshadow in green/yellow/grey tones. It's very much like the pictures on the site. Also, it's quite sparkly!

Here is a picture of Irene I took during the box opening. She's modeling a pink mohair wig I got for Priscilla.

With Dear Mine face-ups, what you see on promo shots is what you get - I have 5 of their dolls here and it's been true for each and every one of them. The colors may not be for everyone, but at least you know exactly what you are getting!

Thank you! She's a lovely sculpt, very different from my other MSDs

So, now that Angela's pictures are out, is anyone planning on bringing her home? She reminds me a bit of Dorothy, all grown up

Ooo...just saw that the Rose dress shoes will be available seperately! I will definitely be looking at some of those, even if I won't be able to go for Angela's full-set right now

    I had to pop in here for some quick pic-spam of my own Dearmine girl~ I've not gotten around to blushing the tip of her tail yet and am seriously considering doing some nailpanting or giving her siamese points on her hands and feet- but it's a project for one of these days. ^^;

    Xhai-pan all on her lonesome.

And begrudginglly letting Nathan cuddle on her while he waits for his sister to come back from getting her faceup.

While I absoloutely love my girl and she's exactly what I was expecting her to be I have to say she's a nightmare to pose! She nearly refuses to stand in her heeled shoes (which has resulted in chips to their lovely blue paint...) and can't really seem to keep her arms in most of the posistions I try to put her in... Asthetically she's a beautiful, beautiful doll and one I know I'm never going to part with, but I don't think I'm going to be getting more DearCats in the future. She'll just have to deal with being spoiled rotton all on her lonesome.

    Xhai-Pan Gale, she's such a pretty girl!

I'm sorry to hear that you are having troubles posing her! Maybe she's strung too loosely? My Priscilla poses like a champ, though getting her to stand is a bit of a workout, that's for sure. She does stand eventually, but she's very picky with balance. Is your girl able to do the poses I show here? If not, I'd suggest re-stringing her.

I actually think -alot- of my issues are with her legs. She can lounge and the like easy enough, but crossing one leg over the other always looks awkward (and painful. >>) and her arms don't like to keep a posistion. I don't -think- it's an issue with stringing quite so much as it is her balance and just... something different with the legs (which I imagine is mostly due to her kitty-nature). I'd also be terrified to try restringing her myself. XD

I think I was just incredibly spoiled with some of the previous dolls I've had that seemed so much easier to move fluidly however I liked. I seem to have the same sorts of issues with posing my JID girl- although she stands quite a bit better than Xhai. She's still darling and I'm very happy I managed to snag a BRP the second time around. ^^

Xhai-Pan Gale She looks little bit rock and really cool! Maybe loosening arm strings would help position keeping. I sueded the ankles, helped little bit standing problem, also tightened strings little bit. Restringing seems scary, but actually its quite easy in the end, so be brave. ^^ btw cool tattoo and handsome jid guy!

What comes Angela, she looks so sweet! But luckily little bit too sugary my taste. Those Rose high heels is a must getting to Nelli!
She's not crazy, she just sounds it.

I figure I'll poke my head in her now before I totally commit myself to doing something I probably shouldn't...! ^^; But...money, I has it, and money, I am bad with it.

Angela drew me in, but I'm thinking of ordering a Dear Mine Priscilla. I wish they still had her Blue Rose full set in stock because dear LORD it's gorgeous, but I'll happily settle for just the doll and her face-up. ^_^

Can anyone tell me how these lovelies pose overall? I love the aesthetic, and they look like they hold up pretty solidly, but I'm still not sure if I should take the plunge...I MIGHT have a friend to split shipping with, too, especially for the awesome event. (Wish I had money enough for a third doll! I'm dying to know what is in Wizard's special gift pocket! xD)

    Thank you!

EDIT: Also! Can these girls stand without their shoes? From what I'm seeing they only seem to have high-heel feet, and those resin heels. But I swore I saw a picture of one of them standing without shoes...

Could somebody please tell me what Irene's body measurements would be? The site gives some of them, but I would like to know more detailed measurements if somebody wouldn't mind

A new dress is available! Nice, and dainty, and pink!
I don't have a DearMine doll yet, but I still buy the clothes, because they fit my LittleMonica so well!
The package came right away! I was surprised! I'll love to show it if you'd like!

I'd love to see it, TrinityInRainbows! I was considering that dress myself, but my order was huge as it is and I figured I'd get it next time. Please post pictures when you can!

Does anybody know if Dikadoll, Illusion Spirit, and/or Dollzone resin matches the DearLover WS? & if possibly their hands would fit the joints?

Thanks for at least posting It's unfortunate but I think a lot of people just don't have Irene so I feel like my answer will go unsolved

Try posting in the Dear Mine Tiny Anthros thread. You may not get the hand question answered, but some folks over there may have dolls from companies whose resin match you are interested in.
