Please note that we have updated our "no drama" rule to the following:
No drama. Do not discuss offsite snark or drama on Den of Angels. Do not attempt to involve forum staff in personal rivalries or disputes.
While the DoA staff takes issues of harrassment, bullying, and cyberstalking very seriously, we are only able to intervene in cases where the problematic behavior is happening on-site. In these situations, harrassment or threats must be readily identifiable within forum posts, private messages, or emails sent through the DoA server.

Due to the ease of forging, we do not accept scans or photographs of legal documents. For the same reason, we do not want to see screenshots or logs from other sites. If harrassment is happening on other sites, please contact the administrators of those sites for assistance. Harrassment, bullying, etc., must be documentable on DoA for action to be taken on DoA.

As staff members and individuals, we do not want to hear about off-site disputes or rivalries. We will not get involved in them. As long as people are behaving on-site, they will be permitted to remain.

Please keep in mind your language choices when contacting forum staff. Should you make it sound as though you are considering putting DoA in a tenuous legal position, there is a possibility that we would simply remove your access to the forum as a means to protect you and remove ourselves from the risk of being a venue for harrassment.

If you don't get along with someone, your first line of defense is the Ignore button. You can ignore someone via the dropdown that appears when you click their username in a thread or by going to their profile and clicking "Ignore User." ignoring a user will prevent them from being able to contact you and will hide all of their posts from your viewing; in short, it will be as though they no longer exist for you.

If you do receive a threatening or abusive communication, please use the Report button to alert the moderators. This works on both PMs and forum posts. If you receive a threatening email via DoA, please forward it to ads@denofangels.com as that is the most frequently tended DoA email address. All emails forwarded must contain the original headers; any on-site harrassment must be sent to us using the report feature to preserve original content and formatting.

You may express concerns about any issue in the Ask the Mods subforum.

Swap drama

There's also been a lot of drama lately regarding swaps. Please remember that swaps are not exactly trades; you are taking a chance that the item you receive may not exactly match the value of what you sent. Part of the excitement of a swap is not knowing what you will get in return. Each swap partner will, to the best of their ability, provide a pleasing product but keep in mind it may not meet another person's standards or expectations. Please only join swaps if you are willing to put time and energy into it. The rules for leaving feedback for swaps have been clarified: Only swap leaders may leave feedback for swap participants. This feedback should focus on whether or not the participant fulfilled their swap agreement. Swap participants may only leave feedback for swap leaders.

Update to feedback rules

Regular Market Place Transactions
  • Unchanged.

Swaps
  • Swap feedback will be only between the swap leader and swap participants.
  • Swap organizers may leave flakey feedback for participants who do not fulfill swap requirements or who fail to complete the swap.
