I'm just on any thread that users are allowed to respond to(galleries, Meme's, Box Openings, etc). Oh, and my private message.

What should be happening and isn't?

The little box for typing in the response is not there. I am unable to type anything. Obviously, since I am writing this now, it isn't all the time. It seems to work for a couple of threads throughout the day I respond to and then it won't be in the next one, or any other I check the rest of the day. Haven't figured out how to fix it myself. It's been happening for about a week I think.

Sorry if this is not a bug but human error (mine), I just don't know much about computers. I also checked to see if there were rule changes for waiting times between responses we could post in threads and couldn't find anything, so I figured I'd give this a shot. Thanks.

This also happens to me. All of yesterday I could not post anything, but today I can... It seems to come and go, which is really weird.
OS: Mac Snow Leopard
Browser: Safari, the latest update
I've tried: Emptying the browser cache, restarting browser, logging off and onto DoA, closing all other applications to free up more RAM in case it was somehow a processing issue...
Nothing seems to help when this bug happens.

Next time it occurs I will try switching to Firefox and see if that helps us find out whether it's a problem Safari is having, and I'll post results here if I get any.

Unable to post or PM.

What are you doing when this error occurs? Trying to type a post or a PM.
What should be happening and isn't? I should have gotten the white text box at bottom of the page. It didn't appear. The space where it should have been remained light blue and it wasn't possible to click on it or type text there. Problem lasted a couple of days.

Troubleshooting: Logged off and on DoA, cache flush, system reboot - did not help. However, this morning it's working.

Troubleshooting: Tried also on my phone, and it doesn't work there either. Logged out and logged back in, still no dice. It seems to be a problem with my account rather than with the actual forums.

What should be happening and isn't:

This morning, while logging on, I was asked to download a file called forum.php. I did this, figuring it might be something survey- or member-related. Nothing happened, except that a file with Excel markings appeared on my desktop. Four of them, actually, as I tried four times to get on. They have alphanumeric filenames like A69B4700.

I cannot open these files. I cannot change the names of these files. I cannot delete these files. Not at all sure what to do.

Don't know if this is a bug or just an "undocumented" revision of a feature - before when you came across a post made by someone who's on your ignore list, you saw the existence of the post and the ID of the poster, just not the body of the post. And there was an option to view a particular post for that visit (once you left the thread and went back, the postbecame hidden again). This itself was a feature that appeared after an update. Previously, you had to amend your ignore list to see a post. Was useful in database and comparison threads to be able to do this.

Now, the entire post itself is invisible, as if it doesn't exist. I played around, and some threads renumber all the posts as if the ignored post isn't there, while others, if it's the first post, start the thread with post #2.

I checked this on Firefox 3.0.19/WinXP, and on another computer with Firefox 4/Win7.

I use a mac os x 10.04.11. When I click on new post it say " does not exist".
Safarie quits when I open this site, retarting the computer helps.
I forgot to mention Most of the time I cannot reply to post using the button" reply to threat" but replying on the last comment does work.

I'm not seeing the "report" button at the bottom of users' avatars. Not sure if it's a bug or if that feature has gone away. I just noticed it the other day when I spotted a thread that needed reporting, so I'm not sure how long it's been missing. I'm using Firefox 6.0.2.

Several people have mentioned to me that they are unable to post.

One of the members told me:

I can't seem to post any photos or comments anywhere on their site anymore. It started Monday night. I can sign in to the site and open all their threads, but it won't let me make comments anywhere. The comments and new threads boxes used to be white and I could type right in them. Now all the 'boxes' are a pale blue, the boxes are gone, and nothing I do will let me in. I've tried going to Ask the Moderators, but it will only allow me to type in a title, and then it won't send it because there is nothing in the comment section - but I can't fill it in. I even tried going the PM route to a Moderator but the same pale blue hides the comment boxes and I can't send anyone a message.

Something that might help people with this issue who need to answer a PM:
The PM text area wouldn't load (stayed blue), but the title box loaded (was white) and it could be edited. I could Reply to a PM by sending it back with a new title that was my one-liner message.

Like last time, I was still able to read all PMs and threads.

Browser and Operating system: Happening on all my computers, but I am usually on my Windows Vista or XP, using Chrome and Firefox.

Every single time I log in I first receive an error saying my username/password and incorrect. When I log in a second time using the login screen where it say I have un/pw incorrect I can log in fine. So basically I have to enter my info twice before it lets me in.

What are you doing when this error occurs?

In the last two days as I move from page to page I will occasionally get a popup window asking me for my username and password. The URL at the top of my toolbar goes from the usual http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php to http://www.dev.denofangels.com. My first thought was that I had picked up a redirector virus, so I had simply shut the page and started a new session, but some poking around didn't uncover an obvious bug on my computer (i haven't dug through all my cookies yet.) Needless to say I have not entered my username and password in the box so conveniently provided.

What should be happening and isn't?

Firefox keeps me logged in and has my DoA password, normally. The few times I have cleaned everything out/reinstalled Firefox and needed to log back on, DoA has me marked as Visitor at the top, so the popup prompt for the password is abnormal behavior for the forum as far as I know. It has a very non-DoA style to it, if that makes sense.

Emma, I am unfamiliar with Macs, but on windows, when a file is somehow not allowed to be deleted, its a registry or permissions mixup. It can be sidestepped by going into the windows "safe mode" upon start up and deleted there. Perhaps Mac has a similar administrative Boot mode. It would be worth investigation.

What should be happening and isn't?
Very randomly, when I post a response in a discussion thread, I get a pop-up box asking me if I want to stay on the page or leave it. If I leave the page, I get a message saying I must wait 30 seconds before posting another comment, however, it does post my commet. If I stay on the page, I *think* it posts my message twice (not sure, only did it once so can't remember). Either that, or it doesn't post the message at all. Next time it happens I click "stay on page" to see what happens and then report back.
Doesn't happen every time, just on a very random basis, maybe one time out of four or five? It isn't really a big deal, but it is a bug of some sort so I thought I would report it.

What should be happening and isn't?
It happens random, when I response the discussion thread, a small pop-up window asking me if I want to stay on the page or leave it. When I press "leave it" it said that my message are to short and then I have to repost my reply again. If I stay on the page, nothing happens... my post won't appear in that discussion...
