IMPL dolls 64cm Star line and 58cm Model line Discussion thread Part II

Hi all, just ordered my first Impldoll and she'll be my first big girl. I'm a little nervous about the size and hope I can get used to it. My biggest doll is 43 cm. I got in on the free head sale so I've got Abagail and Erica coming. Can anyone tell me, if I don't like the Star body, can these heads be used on the model body? Thanks!

SISEN: The Star body is very elegant and they are very tall and weedy. Sure much bigger than a MSD, hahahaha and bet you're going to say ...WOW ....big difference . This was how I felt when I got my first SD compared to my MSDS but I'm sure you will get used to her and then love her weedy look. I can't see Erica as a boy but that's my opinion omly. I'm also waiting for an Erica.

Guys, what is the waiting time from Impl ? When I got Yun Yan it was only a month but this time it's almost 6 weeks and still ....nada.

Ironically, I think those are Erica's lips on Miguel.

You can always ask for comparison photos. If you check the gallery you can see some have been posted there. http://www.impldoll.com/doinfo.php

From the looks of their Q&A board it seems Impl must be pretty busy these days. The free head event probably meant a lot more sales. I know they snagged me with it. But I'm not even on week two, so I couldn't say. Seems like people who order face ups are waiting longer. Otherwise, unless it's a big order, it seems like the average wait is a month.
Make sure I freeze in a dignified position. None of that "huddled over for warmth" crap.

Thanks scrollbrush and xtal, I ordered mine from Denver Doll Emporium and they said the wait was about eight weeks. I plan on making Erica a girl also. Just going to give the heads different looks, one sophisticated and edgy and one more natural and young.

Xtal : Yes, I think you have a point there ...must be because of the free event and I was thinking about that too.
I also think that Erica's lips do look quite alike to miguels while the other dolls have the same type of shaped lips, I guess it's just one sculptor for IPL.

SISEN : would love to see what you do with Erica so don't forget to post photos and I will also do the same.

Hey guys. I had to come to this discussion because I saw a picture of the new Model boy Ziv and totally had a "O.O...fffffffff, OMG " moment. I love the mold, it's too awesome for words (might mod that round nose though O__o). The one thing keeping me from snatching him up though is the Model boy body. It's too "smooth". I prefer more realistic bodies. I wanted to ask if there was anyone here who had success with Model heads on different bodies? I thinking that I would get in white skin or possibly pink.

    Sorry , double post.

Sisen, it seems the 8-9 wigs are a little too big but with the silicone caps they will fit nicely. I have a dollmore wig of 7-8 and it fits too. Their heads are a wee bit smaller than the normal SDS.

It would be interesting and helpful if we had some information from others that have hybirds from Impl , what do you guys think ?
I have a body coming from impl ...pink and will try it on my Asa's head from IPH . I know that there will be a little gap around the neck but will see how the match of the resin will come out. The head is a IPH RS.
    Will let you all know.

I agree with you scrollbrush it would be useful to see Impldoll hybrids....I can't afford to keep buying expensive dolls so the next best thing to do is get the heads and put them on cheaper bodies....Impldoll bodies look really good for this so it would be so helpful for us all to do a bit of mixing and trying other heads on these Impldoll bodies. I want a DT Hue but the DT 15 body is rather expensive, so I'm looking at an Impldoll body for him....I think it would look really good too

I haven't mentioned my hybrids in a while, but I do have them! I have a dollzone bb head on a impldoll body, both white skin
I also have a notdoll lab ligaya 'crystal rose white' head on a pink skin model body, and i blushed the head to match.

    Woops, double post!
I just have a question for anyone who may know buuut, do the SD13 size shoes on nine9style fit Star line bodies? Impl says on their site that the foot length of the Star body is 7.5 cm and the length of the SD13 shoes on nine9style are 8.4 cm. I'm assuming they will but would like other opinions. Same question for the clothes seeing as the SD13 shoes are larger than I assumed.
So to sum it up, do SD13 size shoes and/or clothes on Nine9style fit Star woman body?
Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions, this doll is my first and I'm still a BJD noob!
(These are the shoes I'd like to buy in the SD13 size by the way, http://nine9style.com/shop/step1.php?number=1898 )

I would love to know that shoe info too! They have a pair of boots I love. The Impl site says the flat feet are 7.5 and the heel feet are 7.3. I have a feeling only the heeled feet would work

  16. #16
    hey everyone

I usually keep the heeled feet on my Star Line Christoper, since most shoes that i have bought only work with them, (shoes mainly coming from Alice's Collections)

I am thinking about getting a 7-8 wig for one of my free event heads that i just had ordered on the 16th, a Happy Camille wig and i hope it will fit since i read a bit ago that 7-8's fit pretty snugly. I doubt anyone can help me specifically but i cant find any for my Antonia head that i am getting free >_<

In regards to the Star girls, has anyone used 12mm instead of 14mm eyes? If so, I would love to see pictures please. TIA! Maybe Erica?

i think that zaoll would be best suited to a model body depends on the neck size i havent seen a zaoll in person, the only dollmores ive seen are the msd size, the model f ispae and my mums bella spider queen which actuallyi think she comes under the model f too not sure will have to ask her! the in between havent been in the family! lol the model f ispae looked like it would work on star body.

    EDIT

ok just looked at dollmore website it said that the Zaoll neck is 9.5cm so the Impldol star neck is 9cm so i would say it would be possible if the neck is of a similar size and the colour match is good anything is possible.

just a note too the neferti billabong head (if thats right) fits ok on the impldoll model, colour match is slightly out but it does go fairly ok! lol mum got a neferti head and she was looking for a body for the head and she tried on her impldoll model for size, its not bad to be fair!
