2011 DoA Curiosity Survey!

I just did it - it only allows you to type up to 10000 characters (in case anyone needed a heads up). But I'm pleased at how thorough it was. I hope some of my ideas helped make the forums a little easier to navigate.

Where the survey was concerned, there needed to be a box that would allow you to skip certain sections; for example, I've never used the Marketplace. I've looked in it, but have never actually 'used' it. I ended up going by what I would do if I ever decided to use it.

After that, I contributed some ideas - mostly for navigation. I gave the idea of having a sticky or a subsection for patterns in the sewing section. I also mentioned how name origin threads seem to be semi-rampant in the memes section.

Please try your best to be concise and to the point when filling out the actual survey.

If you have any further suggestions it would be best to start a new thread in the Ask the Moderators subforum with the title '2011 DoA Survey' so we know what it's going to be about, but these suggestions won't be counted as part of the actual survey because the results of the survey are automatically generated. We will certainly take your suggestions on board, but we won't be able to add them to the survey for you.

Members with Marketplace Suspensions and Bans will not be able to access the survey.

Just took the survey, I thought the questions asked were very relevent. Though it would have helped to have had more options in the line of "don't use it" or "never experienced it" or some such thing. Also in the "how often do you use the marketplace" question, I had to click 0 times a month, because I only buy things from the MP a few times a year- though I do use it!
All in all I think this is a very good and helpful forum that has helped me so much in learning how to care for my dolls ^^

The other sections are pretty clear on their goals. For example, if you get too much "I had no idea DoA has a wiki" feedback you'd work to make the wiki more prominant. It doesn't seem like there's much you can do with the feedback from the Community and Hobby Perception section.

Some of it is, just as the title suggests, curiousity.

I'm not sure how or when we'll share the results - the form output isn't as clean as we would have hoped so it'll take a little time to tidy up at the end before the data can be really looked at.

Reading people's suggestions and wishlists is interesting so far - most things are either things that aren't feasible or are already in the works!

I don't currently have any dolls right now (sold them all, am waiting for more financial stability to maybe reenter hobby), but the survey wouldn't take 0 as a legitimate answer. Fairly sure I'm not the only one to fill out the survey but have to lie about how many dolls I have just to have my other honest answers go through. Just so you guys know.

I'm not sure why it wouldn't accept 0... I know for sure that 00 and 000 work, so future survey-takers can use that if needed.
