Bug Reporting/Bug Fixes (7/25/11 Patch Issues)

Of course, vBulletin can't release a patch or version upgrade that doesn't break the forum.

These are the known issues.
PLEASE do not report them again, we already know about them!

• WYSIWYG Editor not functioning normally in Safari
• Strange right justification for some users when writing their posts, but corrects itself on submission
• reply box grayed out on Opera
• Invalid Redirect URL error on login when going to http://denofangels.com. (Workaround: access the forum including the www at the beginning - www.denofangels.com)

These issues have been FIXED.
If you are still experiencing them, please clear your cache, then try it again.

• Image insert button does not work. (Workaround: Go to the "from URL" tab, then untick the box that say "Retrieve remote file and reference locally")

When you report a bug, please be specific. It doesn't help us when people say something "isn't working" or they're "having trouble with" something; we need to know what exactly is happening (or not happening), what error messages you're receiving, what browser you're using, and what operating system you're using.

We will be working on bugfixes and updating this thread. Please do not post bugs anywhere else; this is where Dezarii and I will be checking. Thanks!!

I'm sorry to bother you ladies, but would you be able to tell me if there's a way for the Rich Text format to show up in an iphone or ipad? I was able to see it in the last version [including the little face icons], but in this version I can't.

Today the "PM reply" no longer works right.
Both "reply" and "go advanced" give me a text box filled with the PM I just received in it instead of a blank one to write in. When I create a blank space ro write in the letters enter from the far right and scroll across the screen traveling left. I am using IE as my browser. Thanks!

The quote of the previous PM appears to be the default now, but you can clear the text. I agree the new text is starting off right-aligned, but it does seem to post or PM left-aligned okay. This post was entered right-aligned and straightened itself out during the posting process.

Enki, we'll look into that. I think it's a Safari issue.

Much, could you be more specific? How exactly are you having problems, what are you doing when they happen...? What vrowser and OS are you using?

Well the Quick Reply is not working.... when you go to reply to a thread and mouse to the Quick Reply box and click in it, but nothing happens. No cursor appears to begin typing your message. You have to go the the Advanced screen to send anything or reply to anything or make a post.

themasterjinn -- don't look for a cursor, just click into the reply box and start typing. The letters will start appearing on the right hand side, right-aligned. I've been using the quick reply boxes all afternoon and they've been that way. Only saw an actual cursor once!

I noticed that when editing a preexisting post, the raw BBcode formatting showed up by default, and the button to switch modes was not available (the A/A button). I normally don't mind seeing the BBcode, but I was editing a post with a lot of formatting, so it made things a little more confusing.

Also, for some reason the links in that post were broken after the mode was switched to raw code; ellipses were added after the links for some reason, which weren't there before. I had to manually fix all the links in the post.

I'm on Firefox 4-something, and Windows Vista.

I'm using the most recent version of Firefox. I cleared my cache, but as greeniebone said, it just shows up as raw code now. I don't mind it too much but can be a little confusing in format-heavy posts
The vanishing image thing seems to have been fixed.

I checked, and my version wasn't as recent as I'd thought (it was 3.6.18). I upgraded to the newest 5.0.1, and upgrading seems to have solved the problem for me.

It seems to be better now for post replies, I managed this and saw a cursor ( although everything for PM's is to the right of the reply box, and there's a vertical row of icons)...I am on IE8

Logging in from any device (mobile OR desktop OR latop) has been giving me an error message the first time through when I click >log in

Invalid Redirect URL (http://denofangels.com)

When I hit log in again it logs me in fine, but that is an error that is mildly irritating.

This issue has been had on:
HTC Hero (Android OS) - Opera and Internet
iPod Touch 4th Generation (iOS) - Safari and Opera
Dell Desktop (Windows XP) - Firefox and IE7
MacBookPro (Leopard) - Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, and IE7

Quick-reply Errors:

Quick reply is now working fine for safari on the iPod touch 4th gen and internet and opera on Android, but still won't do anything when in Opera for iOS. It looks like the window is just an image - you can't even bring up the keypad to type in.

I updated to the newest firefox, 5.0.1 and I still get the same problem SmoteyMote is talking about. I have to log in twice, as the first log give me the Invalid Redirect URL (http://denofangels.com) error.

I also cleared my caches and still not working.

Access the forum at http://www.denofangels.com, rather than http://denofangels.com. Our URL does technically contain the www, and the cookies may not be catching correctly without it, which would cause the Invalid Redirect URL error. I'll look at doing an update to the cookies, but doing so requires taking the forum down and I'd like to avoid that for a few days if possible so I can have a to-do list.

I'm looking at the issue for Opera; to my knowledge, there are fixes that you can do via your browser settings, but I feel like we should be able to do something on our end. More research is needed.
