He looks cute in his new wig, Fairy. And Rasputin is adorable as well.
I agree with everyone that tiny little clothes are hard to make. I don't have any problem making clothes for my bigger dolls, but Alice's clothes are always too big or too small. And I hate hate HATE putting elastic in the waistband of pants, but I find that's the best way not to have the pants fall off his bottom when he sits down, so I have to suffer any time I make him pants. Not looking forward to making my deer's pants. I wish he could share with Alice but I don't think his hooves will fit through the holes for Alice's tiny little bunny feet.

I have to blush his hooves this weekend and make him some clothes and a wig, but I'm so happy with him right now! He poses so well (he's really loose and I love it) and I'm actually not nervous at all about taking his legs off to blush them cuz I already pulled his hooves back to see the hook and the elastic is so loose that it gives really easy. I might tighten it up a bit after I finish his hooves, but maybe not cuz right now he poses like a dream. It's so easy to make small alterations without having him snap back to the way it was before. Which is good cuz the first time I put his antlers on I had to lean him forward slightly so he wouldn't topple backwards. He's, by far, my best poser.I don't wanna ruin that by restringing him right now, so I'll wait til he's too loose to do anything with.

congrats on your latest arrival, ookami-chan! He's lovelyAhh, the more I see these deer boys the more I want one haha
Terribly tempting, aren't they? I like DZ's skintones, too. He's my first DZ and he's normal yellow. He's darker than my DS normal dolls and I like that. It's a nice change from my paler dolls. He's gonna be fun to blush. His fur also looks a lot more natural in person than it did in pictures, I think, which makes me even happier with him.

I know - they're so tempting, but I'm doing my best to resist. LOL!!!
I got my very first dz doll this weekWell I bough him last week and he arrived this week. He is a DZ Momo.
Just got done sueding him because he was super kicky and kept curling up like a baby.
Today I gave him a faceup, made eyes for him and made him a hat! His name is Link. He's actually going to be a character doll :O I've never had a character doll, so this should be new and exciting!
Anyway, he's based off of the character from the Legend of Zelda. He's mostly based off of the kid version in Ocarina of Time. I need to find a yellow wig somehow :O

Hooray ocarina of time! looking good so far.
and congrats on the baby deer ookami-chan03! Can't wait to see your hoove blushing
I finally broke down and messaged DDE and politely asked if they good give me any info regarding my order, like if I should expect it in time for christmas. They were very nice and said they they expect my boy to arrive in thier very next shipment from dollzone, and they think that'll be before christmas!
I'm so excited, I want to contribute to this thread more!

Tried making a wig for Juniper... Didn't work out so well.I followed the same tutorial I did for my SD whose wig came out perfect on the first try. But first Juniper's wig was too short. Then I added a strip along the bottom and it fit + had a little room to hem it and finish it up so it wouldn't be too loose or too short, but for some reason when I hemmed it it got a LOT smaller and wouldn't fit over his head anymore.
So for now he's bald cuz I can't make a wig for him and there are no 3-4inch short brown (preferably fiber) wigs on the MP. It's so hard finding wigs for tiny boys.

ookami-chan - my no-fail method for tiny wigs has served me well with my dragon boy
To create a pattern:
#First cover the head with masking tape, to slightly more than the extent that you want the wig to cover. doesn't have to be neat.
#Then draw out the pattern pieces onto the masking tape in pencil, and neaten up the outer edges to where you want the wig to end. For example if you usually make 2-piece wigs, just draw a line down the middle of the head from front to back. Or you could draw out the pieces for a 3-piece wig, or outline a strip at the front for bangs.
#Next CAREFULLY peel the masking tape off the head. If you have a very delicate touch you can score the tape gently with a craft knife along your pattern lines (pressing too hard will slice into the headplate) or use small, short-bladed scissors to cut along the pattern line as you peel the tape off.
#The pieces of masking tape you now have will be curved to the contours of the head. Stick them down onto paper - the paper will bend to match the curviness of the tape but that is fine.
#Cut out the shapes you have stuck onto the paper, then carefully peel off the masking tape from the paper pieces without ripping them. Flatten out the paper pieces.
#You now have flat, paper pattern pieces for your tiny wig! You can discard the masking tape and use these paper pieces as guidelines for cutting fur fabric.
#BUT remember that your pattern pieces have no seam allowance, so you must add as much seam allowance as you need when you cut out the fabric
-edit- don't forget to account for the hem in your seam allowance too. A wig made this way should fit your boy no trouble![]()

Thanks deadpixel. I'll have to try that. Right now I have no fur left. The sample I got from Distinctive Fabric was sorta sparse, so I didn't really care for it anyway. I'll have to figure out how to get ahold of some shortish brown fur without having to get a yard of it. Probably just continue to scour the MP and hope I get lucky and find a nice wig like I did for my YoSD

Places like joann fabric and craft and wal mart let you buy fabric in smaller quantity then a yard. its just reduced in price from the by yard price. I buy fabric all the time most places will sell less than a yard because most patterns take partial yards. both those places often have a sale and clearance section too![]()

our walmart doesn't have a fabric section anymore. Sorta sucks. Their fur was really cheap and excellent quality. And I've heard of Joann Fabric, but never seen one. It's ok, he can be bald for now.
In other news... I blushed and painted his hooves today!

I really like that casual pose xD and the hooves look great! *scampers off to box opening thread for more blushing pics*
-edit- *returns even more impressed* You've done a brilliant job on them, looks professional! I've seen several different styles of leg-and-hoof blushing on these guys, and I really like the cool shades of brown you've chosen. Makes a pleasing contrast to the warm shades of the antlersdid you use acrylics for the hoof itself and pastels for the leg fluff? (can't think what else to call it, lol)
