Thanks DanceCat. Ivy is really gorgeous. Love the way you've coloured her. Awww... she's shy.

You did such a beautiful job on Ivy, DanceCat! She came out wonderful!

I ordered a white female body and head (without face-up). I'm going to see if I can finally muster up the courage to create my own pink Catsy.

Oh, wow! Can't wait to see the results, Cattwo! Just what we've been longing for. And I really doubt if Elfdoll is ever going to revisit the original Catsy sculpt.

Thanks, phanuel! I just hope I can do her justice. I agree with you - I don't see Elfdoll ever using the original sculpt for another color anymore. If they do come out with more cats in the future, they'll most likely be new sculpts and, like you, I have a real appreciation for the original Catsy.

Please do remember to post pictures as you go, Cattwoo. It sounds like a wonderful project. Are you going to hand dye your Catsy or air brush the colour?

I'll certainly be sure to post pics here when I'm done, spencers_mom! I'm not sure yet as to how I'll go about giving her the color change - I'm still checking out info on it. If anyone has suggestions, advice or things I should watch out for, please let me know! I'd love to hear from those with more experience!

Oh, I don't think you need worry about your Pink leaving, DanceCat. He's in such a great home now and has you and all his cat buddies to spoil him - there's no way he'd leave such a great set-up!

I have no experience doing a dye job or any modding on a BJD (as I have absolutely no artistic ability whatsoever! Lol!) but I think there are threads in the Modding or Workshop subforum on dying a doll. I know people have used RIT dye on pukis.

Yeah, people use RIT dye but you have to be careful how long you leave each piece sometimes - sometimes smaller pieces take less time being dipped than larger/thicker pieces.

I saw a doll in person once that was "coffee" dyed, in my opinion it looked quite horrible. It looked as if it was left laying in something that it shouldn't have been. However, I've seen many RIT dye and other dye methods one the forum that have come out very lovely.
All I mean to say is - please be careful of your medium choice.

Thank you both for your input! I do believe that if I go the dye route, it will be with RIT dye. That's what I've seen people use most often, with decent results. But as you pointed out, DanceCat, you do have to be very careful. I watched a video that one young woman posted on You Tube. She mentioned that you need to be careful about making sure you don't leave fingerprints of the dolls - it won't pick up the dye right in those spots. So every resin piece has to be spotless. I've also heard that if there are any seam lines, the seam lines can absorb it more and so show up darker.

So that's why I've been looking into alternative ways of coloring, like pan pastels, which I know some artists use. It may need touch-ups more often if I chose to use a method like this or paint, but I think I'd be okay with that. I'm more concerned with making mistakes I can't correct. Anyway, I have several weeks to think about it, while I wait for my order to arrive. Thanks again, spencers_mom and DanceCat! I really appreciate your comments!

Cattwo, I've also 'heard' that sanded seamlines will take up the dye more also. That would certainly bother me more than just some darker seamlines. All dolls have those darn seamlines, it's something I've easily come to terms with. If they aren't pointed out too much then it's a job well done, me thinks.

But do be careful as to how well you do; you may find yourself with a few commission requests!!! Especially from Pink who might offer up poor Ivy! Or he might demand a new white catsy just for the purpose of pantherizing! LOLOLOL

I'm still wishing to bring home an orange boy. He will be next. I'll just have to keep Pink off the computer when you post your updates!
Although Chrome doesn't mind all the estrogen, it will be nice to add another boy to the crew!

I was thinking of getting another male this time, too, DanceCat, but I could only commit to one purchase right now and I figured I waited long enough for a pink Catsy. Have to at least give that a try first. But I'd love for my Bogart to have a couple of male friends, so maybe one day I'll get around to getting him some. Hope you're able to get Chrome a nice orange friend some day soon, too!

I'd love to see a pink kitty, Cattwo. I wish they'd venture into other colours. A proper Pink Panther would be wonderful. He has such an expressive face. Yours will be great, I'm sure.

Prowl is still waiting for his body blushing stripes. *sigh* I've too many other things needing my attention at the moment.

Congrats to all those who managed to order another Catsy.

    First comes love,
    then comes marriage,
Is that really Bogart pushing a kitten carriage?!

Looks like Lucy May is having another one of her fantasies about life with Bogart. Poor Lucy - Bogart is a confirmed bachelor!

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! And a belated Happy Mother's Day to all you moms!

Cattwo, that is so cute! You're right, Bogart doesn't look to enthused. And Lucy is the cutest little thing since sliced bread, as usual. I never did get that sleeping face for my Remy.
Anyway, I just love the kitten coach. My mom is here and she saw it, she says "that is so adorable."

Chrome wouldn't touch being a father cat with a 10' pole. Of course, he would never opt for being neutered either. My lady cats are so sophistocated, I think Ivy might be the only one who might ever reproduce. Remy's still just a kitten herself. Panthea and Posh wouldn't think of it.

Oh, I renamed Shyla (my gray girl) Posh. It's certainly more fitting.

Thank you for the nice comments, DanceCat! Glad your mom enjoyed seeing this pic, as well! That little stroller is from a Littlest Pet Shop set. I spotted it in ToysRUs back in April and wanted to do a pic for Mother's Day, but didn't get around to it in time. At least I made it in time for Father's Day.

LOL about Chrome! Bogart is the same way. Guess they're both confirmed bachelors. My Lucy is just too much of a romantic to let that get in the way of her dreams, though. Like the name change for Shyla - Posh fits her well!

This is utterly fab, Cattwo. I'm enjoying Lucy's dream. That LPS set is purrfect.

So cute,Cattwo! And perfect for Father's Day. You can see the little tan kitten takes after her mother, with the white forelock from her Dad. But where did the grey kitty come from?!

Thank you for your nice comment, phanuel! As to that grey kitten, I'll have to take that matter up with Lucy May. Maybe her dreams include another male besides Bogart - lol! There's only one male grey that comes to mind - better watch out for your Chrome, DanceCat! My Lucy may have designs on him, too!

Cattwo, Chrome is just the type!!! Only, the fact that they are part human gives him a conscious; so he's got issues of having a crush on Remy (my orange girl who is the kitten of the bunch) so Lucy might just suffice! But he's a tom-cat at heart, not the type to settle down. I wouldn't be surprised if an angry mob of mother cat anthros didn't show up at the door one day!!! In which case I suppose I'd really have to get finished on the doll house... or start a shelter in the MP!
