OMG I love this thread! Too bad I can't post here yet because I'm only customizing a Calico Critters house - it would be severely off-topic to post without a doll Plus it's not finished yet. It will house my RP who is still 6 weeks away.. Anybody using Calico Critters / Sylvanian Families, care to share some inspirational picspam?

Love the wine celler and the bedroom is coming along a treat.

The bedroom of the Nook. The fireplace is almost finished. Still need to fix the plinth and sort out the wiring.

mehi - Your wine cellar is so clever. I love it! How creative!

101i74 - What a great design that your house will fit on a windowsill. I need to do some planning like that for my next house. Mine end up so big, I don't know what to do with them!

Laurey - Thanks for your comments! The fireplaces are really fun to make. For my most recent one, I cut corners and bought an unfinished inexpensive fireplace at hobby lobby and then glued the little stones to it. It was really easy if you want to try it sometime!

Roombox/diorama Update! by 101i74, on Flickr

    aaaand it is complete!

Will be adding some "posters" and not sure what to do with that little mirror yet.

That bedding was made for the other bed I have (seen in my other pics, the pink one) so it is too small for this one. I will make "sheets" that will drape over the sides so you won't see under the bed! And of course a new blanket & pillows.

Yes the side walls are uneven--this is because I added them afterwards, one is one of the posterboard "wings" and the other I made from cardboard! don't mind, I won't ever be photographing that high up lol.

This was such a fun project! And as you can see it fits perfectly on my windowsill I never open that one and the shade is always closed so it's perfect~

101i74, that is such a sweet project and such a wonderful and imaginative use of space to fit it to your windowsill. Applause, applause!

I love finding little nooks and crannies like that to fit displays in. And it can really pay off too...hubby was saying only today that because the dolls are displayed in their rooms where he can see them all the time, he thinks of them like family (in fact, he was teasing one of them today.) That's really helpful when you're asking to bring home another doll...and as a matter of fact, hubby has actually bought me several dolls just saying, "hey, get one for that spot!"

I'm currently in the process of putting together a button house.. Or a house covered in buttons.. Its going to be for my puki sugar (Silvermist) who is a button fairy. : D So far I've finished the easy parts.. The hard parts going to be figuring out how to work around the front... The dollhouse itself was a kit I put together. And any part that isn't covered in buttons (or something else) will be painted green. (as seen in photo) :b Guess which room of my house Misty's house will match.. Hehe.

And I'm enjoying looking at everyone elses houses/rooms.... And with all the pretty beds on here you guys are making me feel badly about having lost Misty's bed... xb I can find the bunk-beds for my other dollhouse, but not the single one I had set aside for this one...

I just imagine your Silvermist on buttonhunt, rummaging through your sewingbox ..and cutting them off your clothes if necessary

Here's a bit of spam of Pip's Travelling Howse, with Mister Tibbles the cat valet, Nikos and Pip enjoying a sugar binge meant to cheer Pip's case of the early spring Gloom.
I made this house out of some upholstery fabric and a modgpodge job on a little craft box, the cardboard kind with a handle and a latch. Scrapbook gems decorate the inside wall with fanciful art from the Alice in Wonderland and Looking-Glass stories, a favorite of Pip's.

My real reason for posting was to show this little room setup in a bookshelf in my bedroom. Stella my Littlefee is Yo SD sized and lives in this space, or would if I ever let her off the dresser where I can admire her easily. The stool and little moroccan table are antique store finds. I made the bed blanket, but not the little doily over the pillow end. The Mojo staff in the corner and the pendulum made of beads were gifts from friends. Her food is erasers of convenient size.

This is such a fun thread! Everyone, thanks for your inspiration!

101i74: Very cool room box! Congrats

LittlePompom: Your button house is so creative. I'd love to see your button fairy, too! What a great idea

Rosslyn: Very cool idea for the craft box. I just picked up 3 different kinds of similar containers at Hobby Lobby yesterday. I'm going to try your modgepodge approach!

Ah! You all are making me feel like I need to finish my bookcase doll house that I started two years ago and never finished. And then you make me want to attempt to make a LTF sized house, or at least furniture to go on one of my shelves. At this rate my books aren't going to have anywhere to go.
At Home: Too many to name anymore...
