Thanks for all the sweet comments on Grannybelles impending big ol' mesquite root house. Now I need to decide how to decorate it (which will be a long on-going process I'm sure!) Of course, the first thing that came to mind initially was to do it all traditional woodland fairyrealm in scale like other houses of this type I've seen. And someone suggested desert southwest style seeing as how it's a chunk of mesquite and I live in Tucson. But the more I think about it...I'm just not sure either of those is truly me, nor is keeping to a perfect 1/12 scale like I initially intended. Each of the larger dolls in my collection have their own elaborate display areas...sort of an exotic or exuberant randomness that reads like visual poetry to suit their individual characters. I absolutely
love
repurposing odd things and mixing scales so long as it works visually. And then too, things need to be easily dusted here in the deserts of Arizona...that's always a consideration as well. So lots of delicate moss, lichen, and tiny twigs everywhere could quickly become an issue. I think I'm starting to lean more towards Grannybelle's fairyhouse becoming far more "fairy ecclectic" than "woodland realistic".

Lil Spark, your little one in a birdhouse is just way too cute! I love it!
JenKat, what a wonderful, unique and artistic way to carry on your father's legacy! Please keep us posted on what you do once you get started. It would be enjoyable for us all to see.![]()
