It makes wiring easier (and fixing any wiring problems) and then you can "redecorate" without really any issues if you want to later. He said only to put everything on to the walls in a permanent way if you are REALLY sure that's the loock you want and will never change it.
that is a great idea! makes it kind of like a re-positionable backdrop. it would sure save space over trying to store a bunch of finished styles!

Love the colours and description of your house Stephanie. You have a lot of patience to build it from scratch.

Here's the first side of my sharabang covered in fabric, button and ribbons.

    And the roof

All the corners will have felt flowers with button centres. A client gave me a box of pastel buttons that would work perfectly on the roof.

I've been painting the details inside today, pics on Flickr.

I had that idea but the Victorian house is hard to come by and when you can find it, it costs a fortune! But there are some other cute houses made by Playmobil. It should be the right scale for realpukis and (maybe) pukis.

    Stephanie how's it going?
Valli how cute is this? So colorful! I did see some pics of the inside....wonderful!

So much fun to share ideas as we all go through our learning process. Never in a million years did I ever think I would be playing dolls at my age, absolutely LOVE it

I'm now entering into unknown territory.......deep into the world of plastic!

I have been collecting plastic houses for awhile now....a couple given as gifts, a few flea market finds and other's from eBay. I did cleanup, plastic bag them without any idea's as to what the heck I was going to do with them but now I do believe it's time to weed out what is really usable as some aren't in tip top shape but figured at the time maybe parts can be used for others. One of the biggest problems is trying to figure out how the heck to remove the metal screw rods that hold the hinged parts together, has anyone taken these houses apart? How about paint? I did find spray paint for plastic but I would really like to find paint I can use with a brush.....anyone work with these paints? What type of glue works best with this type of plastic?

My Susie Q and Annie (pukifee's) are eyeing a 3 part Barbie house (not in great shape) made in 1978, I hosed it off yesterday and plan on checking it out later today. I don't feel guilty about modifying this house because of the condition it's in soooooo........let the fun begin!

Gerry I have found you can use regular paint on plastic if you give it a good coat of spray varnish first so the paint has something to stick to. I used Testors on my Gloria furniture that I painted.

I've never painted plastic furniture, so I'm interested in seeing what happens, PRGerry! You sound inspired!

And speaking of inspiration . . . love the caravan, Valli (sorry for the late comment, been very busy!) Do you have any pictures of the inside -- did you "pimp" it out as well?

I'm also interested in how your house is coming along Call Me Stephanie. Remember to post any progress pictures!

Right now I'm trying to make a small puki room box out of one of those large faux books they sell in home accessories stores. I'm not sure it will work, but I'm having a ball trying!

Thanks Richila, once I plan out this house (it's on the kitchen counter right now) I'll test it. It's a shame cause so many pieces are missing and I did check out replacements on ebay but decided not to invest the monies on not only bidding but also shipping....I'll make due somehow. One would think when the companies made these houses they would of put more thoughts into the stupid tiny pegs holding windows and doors on Looking at the pukifee's in this house makes me believe it's much more suited for them then say the Littlefees, well everyone can be the judge when a pic is posted.

PRGerry, is there a maker's mark anywhere on any of the houses or furniture? If you can see one/find it and describe it to me (or tell me who the maker is), I may be able to help re: dismantling and finding extra pieces!

i was at walmart today and i saw these really cool scale model tents and gazebos. i was so excited because they were the perfect size for my tinies. only problem i couldn't find a price.... then i noticed they were fastened to the shelves... that's when it hit me that they were models of the fullsized tents on the shelves below. darn . wish i knew someone who worked at walmart so i could try to buy them at the end of the season. i wonder if i can figure out how to make one. hmmm)

spensers_mom thank you, as soon as I take the 3 part house off the kitchen counter I'll bring out the others and check for info and take some pics.

auntbear Those tents are adorable! I looked around a few years ago but too expensive on ebay. Wishing you the best of luck .....make some friends real fast at the stores.

Ok, here is a pic of my latest project. For other pics look on my flickr.

OMG, PRGerry -- that's a Barbie Dream house from the 1970s! You lucky, lucky thing! I always wanted one of those so badly . . . but they cost an arm and a leg to ship up to Canada. That's Mattel and I know exactly what furniture goes with that, so if you need any help with identification, let me know.

WOw, the details!!! So Cute! But the tiny details are fantastic! The tiny plates on the wall and the tiny doll, the rocking horse. OMG I just noticed the tiny Minnie! Where did you find such treasures? The floor is amazing.

Wow Richila those lights are all something else, I would love to have them in my houses but the cost makes it off limits. By the way did you ever post pics of the inside of that beautiful huge house???
