Elfdoll General Discussion

I'm really surprised to see that there isn't a general ongoing Elfdoll discussion, and I'd like to try my hand at starting one. There seem to be a zillion threads on specific Elfdoll/Rainman sculpts, or bodies, issues, posing, resin colors, feet and what have you, but these all seem to have died of neglect after a few pages or sooner, when the specific subject has been milked dry! What I'd loooove to see is a good rip-roaring ongoing discussion thread similar to the Bobobie/Resinsoul thread.

All subjects related to Elfdoll 1/3, all sculpts, all issues relative to these dolls would b e OK in my book, with 1 photo per post in keeping with general forum rules.

What I'd like to do in my spare time (???? whaaaaaaaaaaat??) is to link here all threads that have arisen on sticky items like what clothes/shoes/wigs/etc. fit and see if I can bring it all together in one spot. (OK, that wasn't so bad...)
Meanwhile, here's a shot of my two ED girls Mirin (Hazy sculpt, lt.) and Paisley (June sculpt, rt.) Paisley is on a Customhouse body and the jury is still out on that one. Can't seem to get the arms to hold a position -- but love the realistic look of the breast sculpt.



As you can see from my sig. i have a Eun-A on layaway. Some have already shipped -- would love to see owner pix!

WOW! That's a lot of threads. They are listed chronologically, so the last ones are pretty old. I tried to eliminate anything that was no longer relevant. Any editing suggestions welcome!

claywimmin, is that customhouse body the old Ai one they sold really cheap last year? I bought one of those too and it isn't the best for posing, but for the price you can't complain. XD I ended up making s hooks to replace the hands so it would hold better, I have considered wiring it, but we'll see how much it bugs me over time.

I've only started buying Elfdoll sculpts in the past year, before that I liked them but couldnt' find a sculpt that was suited to my style of dolls. I now have a Vivien and a Barbara, which I both love. The Vivien's head didn't seem to suit the Elfdoll body to me, so I made a hybrid with a Dollmore Model Body:

FINALLY! An Elfdoll thread that isn't just about wigs and clothes and more than a year old! (Why didn't I think to start one?) The only Elfdoll I have at home right now is a Eun-A head, who is going to be my Korean boy-band member, Ju-Il, once his AOD body arrives. He is soooo pretty and I just adore him.

I plan to get 3 more Elfdoll female heads (2 of which will be boys) in the future. Their face sculpts are just so different and beautiful, I love them!

Glad to know there is a thread to come and gush about ED now.

Kawaii_Mon I don't know how old this CH body is but it does have the S hooks for the hands and feet. I do love that Vivien sculpt, she just may be next on my wish list..

I'm really looking forward to seeing lots of Elfdoll pics and especially the Eun-a owner shots. I still haven't paid for mine in full, so she won't be home real soon. I can't wait though! My first BJD ever, Caldera, is a Sooah, who is now on a Twiglimbs 2 body.
I also own a Min Del Re, Paperjack.
I just today received an Eun-A, who will be the reincarnation of an old doll character of mine, Zooka. She may end up on a Dollfie Dream II body, which I've been told is a decent match for the realskin I ordered her in (just in case).

And I used to have a WS Ryung head and an Alice Cherry Blossom.

Unfortunately VolksUSA doesn't have the body in stock right now, but I'm thinking of ordering just a pair of hands or something to compare before I invest.

Does anyone out there have a side-by-side photo of the realskin and the normal? My Hazy is almost tan, so I'm thinking she's the realskin but I'd like to know if she has darkened at all. I really like her skin color, to me it looks more natural than a paler tone. My June's head is much lighter, but she could have been blushed to match the CH body so I'm not sure she is a good comparison. Oooohhh I want my Eun-A!! So many dolly wants, so very little money. I'd also love to snag a couple of gorgeous girls in the MP right now but I must contain myself!

I have a NS sooah but she's 5years old and has yellowed. I do have a head stand though in what I believe is normal skin, so I will try with that later.

I have both and the normal skin is only just over a year old so it shouldn't have yellowed much. I'll try and remember to take comparison pics for you.

There wasn't a general thread on Elfdolls? Whoa - I didn't even notice!

Anway, I'll pipe in. I've currently got 2 Emma heads and 1 reminisce Emma head, as well as a Lydia head. They're all sharing an Oasisdoll body at the moment, but I plan to get the new Oasisdoll body when it comes out for my twin Emmas (hopefully the resin will match too - they're each at various stages of yellowing, from yellow to pale/new, so right now only the reminisce head matches).

Such gorgeous girls we have! Someday I'm going to snag a Soah from the secondhand market but I can't do it right now. Made myself promise I'd save at least half the cost first, but there's so many other things that get in the way of that! I have this bad habit of surfing the MP just to see what's out there, and unfortunately I usually find something I can't resist with a smaller price tag, and there goes the Soah savings plan.

I'm thinking of getting Hazy a custom faceup. She has the default face now, and while it's OK, it's just that, OK. I'd like something more -- well, outstanding.

PS - I see the modsmodded the title of this thread and lopped off the 1/3, which was, admittedly, a bit redundant...

I've never cared much for Elfdoll default face-ups myself. I never would have fallen in love with Wu (whom I no longer own ) if I hadn't seen owner pics of him with custom face-ups. Hazy has such a gorgeous face, I bet you could do something fantastic with her.

I keep procrastinating on my Eun-A, Ju-Il's face-up at the moment. I really wish his body would just get here already, I HATE having a floating head around. I don't want to make him all pretty and not have a body to show it off with. Oh well, one week more hopefully.

My oldest doll is my Nabee head, and she's the only sculpt that I have never switched for another, my other dolls have been through a couple of shells. And she's my favorite of the group. I'm waiting for her proper body to arrive tho, and maybe redo her faceup, she is still stuck with her default. XD

I always end up repainting my dolls.. But Caldera, my Sooah, kept her default face for almost two years before I had the courage to wipe it. Since then I think she's had three more. It helps to be able to do one's own!

I'm about to turn Zooka into a floating head, I think. :P I ordered a pair of NS Volks DDII hands to double-check the match, just in case, but I just can't see her as 100% Zooka until she's back on the DDII body. When Zooka was a juri 05 head, that's the body she had and it was so HER.

Glad to join in -- love the ED sculpts. I have Konane (Soah) with a custom face up, Kamea (a Little Soah) with default face plates, and Kai & Kari (a Twiggy Yumi with an extra body so the Dami faceplate has her own.)

Soah was my second BJD, and she was a 'love at first sight' purchase -- but each of the gang were "OMG, gotta have that one!"
I really need to stay out of the marketplace for awhile!
