Well, If you went for senior in school. It's the Elders I feel for. They have done better recently with some EID sculpts that actually look like they know their way around. May've actually cracked 30.

Each group (except maybe the BIDs) can cover range from youngish in that group to youngish in the next group up if you take the whole set of each lines sculpts. So, yeah, some JIDs are tween/young teen looking, or small scale "mature" looking, but some are pre-teen looking. So those faces on that old ripped body made me feel like some poor kid had been in the workhouse.

"Another new size of pants." You ain't never lied. But we'll buy it 'cause we just can't help ourselves! They did post some comparison pics that show the nYID head can go on the SID body with some modding, so if you want a muscle body nYID right away, at least it could share with the SID in your life.

Styling is also a big factor - if you dress your doll in baby-blue kids' clothing with animal faces on it, or sailor suits & ribbon ties, of course he'll look like a child instead of a teenager or an adult. (For that matter, the same goes for EID Evan. ^^ But he can be dressed to look older than 18!) You should check out some of the regular residents of the JID thread... many of those little guys have beards, wives, careers, children, etc. On the other hand, it may blow your mind, so maybe not check out that thread.

Wow, I can't even imagine an NYID head on an SID body - those guys look smallheaded already - that must turn them into pinheads! Wonder how much modding?

I will be sticking to just the old size of YID for now... god knows it took me long enough to buy this many slim-cut pants... ;;^^ The new heads aren't doing it for me anyway.

PS. @Cads, is Reid sensitive about his age? Invie thinks he looks younger than Remy. snert. XD Talk about how clothing makes the man! Reid is absolutely like no other Mars I know.

LOL. I did note they could be "small scale 'mature" dolls, but I don't know if they look that mature. Actaully, the head on the SID bod looks good. The proportion is fine. In fact, there's only .2 cm difference in their head circumference. They both have smaller heads in proportion to their bodies vs the EID males. But Eddie's head looks even smaller 'cause it'so young.

Lol, Reid's not sensitive about anything. He's my chameleon, he'll take on any assumption and roll with it just to see where things go. If someone thinks he's younger than he is, that's fine, maybe they'll buy him some sweets. If they think he's older, that's good, too--he wouldn't turn down good wine. And thank you, by the way.

When my Claude gets here I will definitely be doing some humiliating head-switching, just for my own curiosity's sake. XD So prepare to see an SID Mars with a horrible resin match! If I had bought the fist hands he would double-punch the air like a cool guy, but I guess I got frugal about funding for joke photos. ;___; Love the art of the Double-Punch.

SID Mars! That should be eleventy-six kinds of hilarious. Reid's Beautiful Lady Portrait face on top of a slab of muscle. snerk. I demand pix as soon as that becomes reality.

Here is another oldie, so old that he cannot be hybridized in either body or hands... tan Soo Ri v.1 is on the pre-YID body & has Iples' first-ever attempt at tan resin (I call him proto-tan). It's very light and very red, compared to today's toffee browns, so I'm always compensating with Photoshop warming filters. ^^ But Ilya is still in pretty good shape for an old guy.

(And he just lucked out in the wardrobe department; got this insane Volks SD13/Gr sized outfit with a lot of WTF parts, one of which was this lace brocade waist-jacket that turns any boy into a Vegas croupier. Volks clothes are normally baggy on this scrawny guy, but the slim cut is working for him. The Volks boys won't even come near it, I mean, lookit that thing, it's ghastly; but Ilya loves clothes that nobody will come near. Three cheers for awful clothes!!)

Wow! It looks like the wrist measurement is the same for the nYID and the classic YIDs! I really like the new hands.

Im thinking about getting a pair of the new nYID hands for my incoming Barron.

Does anyone know if the clothes for the nYID boys would fit our YID boys? I have my eye on a couple of clothes for my favorite resin boy.

Ephemeral, don't do that just yet. I have an old YID Mars, and I'm getting a new YID boy (hopfully soon....it says before shipping) and I can do a body comparison. The older YID clothes for the boys are the things that are reduced, plus the new things are marked nYID.

Thank you! I'd really appreciate it if you took comparison pics. I know about the old YID clothes being on sale, but Iplehouse (in my opinion) is a pretty expensive even with that tiny discount. Though, I may just bite the bullet anyhow.

I haven't had any issues with standard SD-sized clothes on the old YID body (I think my Aaron is wearing a combination of SD-sized Angell-Studio and DollHeart right now). These days that's part the joy of the old YIDs for me. They're so much easier to dress than the bigger Iplehouse guys!

I would think that the NYID clothes will be even bigger-- those guys look pretty broad! Most standard 60cm clothes will fit old-YID just fine, although usually kinda baggy. Pants, especially. These guys are so skinny. But if your doll isn't into skintight looks, he should be fine. Start with the SD13/60cm sizes and keep shoppin'. ^^ My YIDs wear pants that're sized for Lati Red or SD Graffiti; extra-slim in the hip, extra-long leg. (Great pants source: Sadol. Ask for Lati Red size.)

I only have one YID who wears baggy clothes, and he is much less of a headache to deal with. Here, Samir (tan Soo Ri 2) is wearing baggy Apple Avenue elastic-waisted pants that're supposed to be 3/4 length on ordinary SDs, but he makes them work as shorts.

Wowie! Sadol is a real pal when it comes to clothes. The clothes are so nice, Ima cry! Do the rest of their clothes fit the body well besides the pants? Should I choose a different size if I wanted some tops? They have SD13 normal, among many other sizes! I had a feeling most SD13 would fit, but I was afraid a lot would be tight. I'm glad it's more of the opposite. I'm into more urban city/street clothing, so it's kind of tricky to find some stuff for my Louis. Thank you so much Jenny!

Oh yes, I also go for the Lati Red sized tops at Sadol, too. YIDs are narrow through chest & shoulders, so SD13 tops don't fit as sleekly. If your Louis wants sleek urbane styles, he'll love Sadol stuff. ^^

If you'll pardon my spam again, here is Remy (Mars, Model YID body) in a Sadol top in Lati Red size-- Look how the shoulders fit just right. It's supposed to be drapey, but if it were an SD13 size, it'd slide right off of him.



I have bought their leather skinny-jeans & their snake-pants in both SD13 & Lati sizes, because I've got dolls with similar styles who just can't share pants-- the difference in fit is really noticeable. (For one thing, if I accidentally try to stuff my SD13 Tony into Remy's Lati-sized pants, they won't even slide up over his big Volks ass. XD)
