Thread: Soom Idealian 51 Speculation and Discussion

  1. #301
I like his face too, but i wouldn't order the default face up. His eyebrows.... no, i really don't like them. >< For me they look like x-stitches... as if he was hurt there. Oo

Hi there would anyone be able to give me measurements of the neck on the 51cm boy body? I can't seem to locate it anywhere. Much appreciated

    About 9.3cm. ^__^

And just an obtw, the Freedom Teller polo shirt for SD13 fits these guys snugly. Just another option out there. I should have taken pix, but my guy reeeeally disliked the look. lol Says it's definitely not him.

    I did a comparison:

Left to right: Soom little gem, Rosette, Idealian51, Iplehouse JID, Minifee

    Lots more here: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/sh...15#post9012115

guls207 - Thanks for the comparison pic. It's nice to see the Iplehouse JID fit nicely with him.

    I'm glad it helps!
    I can't believe I didn't share this picture yet! Here's Arjun:

I got the right wig for him! Now if only I could pick his eye color.
If SOOM ever does a free choice event for Idealians I'll...just...faint! I'm so bummed I missed out of Aspen, I think he'd look really good with Cuba.

Do you have some elastic clamps? Pull the elastic out and clamp it next to the arm or leg, take the foam out and slip the ball piece over the elastic. Then put the elastic over the hook in the arm/foot. Hold the hand foot and release the clamp and let it back gently. Sometimes the elastic is large and you have to pull the upper pieces down on the elastic. The head is similar, pull the elastic out and put it over the brain and slip the brain in the head back. This is all easier if you have someone to help! I do it alone so I use two pieces of ribbon with all four ends knotted together and a piece of padded wood to hold the body while I pull on the head. One loop goes of each of the dolls shoulder with the knot near the neck. The padded wood goes through the other ends of the loops and under my legs.

Thanks for your quick response nancy_schroeder_ca! I'm lost! Where can I find elastic clamps? I don't even have any ribbon! But one good thing is that the brain was attached when he came. The instructions make assembly look easy, but I can't even pull the brain out to put it in the head because the elastic is strung super tight. It won't even budge! Do you have any pictures of what you're describing? Or a video!?

Clamps, sometimes called hemostats, are available at many doll supply and hobby shops. Here are some on ebay:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-2pc-Set-...item4161c01dbd

mine are curved and 6.5 inches. I have smaller ones, but they won't always lock on the elastic.

Some men's or long shoe laces should work also. You want something that won't scratch!

I'll try to take some pictures.

Thanks so much! I really appreciate your help! I'm such a scaredy cat! I took me several months to take off a faceplate to change my dolls eyes! Lol. I think I have some of the clamps! I'm gonna search for some string! Thanks again! I can't wait for the pictures!

Make sure its good strong string! You could use a robe belt or something like that. Be glad the elastic is tight! My first Idealian (72) was too loose and I had to restring him!

  15. #315
Restring! O_o I would die! I guess I'd have to take a trip to Korea to Soom for them to put it together for me! Lol. Thanks for the tip I'll try to find some strong string. Dental floss was looking tempting! Lol.

LOL! I wouldn't use dental floss! A trip to the drug store for shoes laces or the fabric store for a couple yards of cheap ribbon would be better!

  17. #317
Lol! I knew it would be too good to be true! I'll keep looking for some string. These dolls should come with an assembly tool kit! Thanks again!

Ok, I have no feeling left in my fingers, but I got his head and feet on! I'm exhausted! I'll try to get his hands on tomorrow. Soom's sculpts are so realistic, and his tan skin is beautiful. I'm glad I didn't order the red wig. I was hesitant to get him, but he looks very similar to Cuba. He doesn't look like Soom's picture. I'll let you know how it goes with his hands. Nancy_schroeder_ca, I don't know how you assembled your BJD alone! I need like three people. Gotta start working out before I order another doll from Soom!

So exciting! I hope the time goes fast so you can have him soon! I can't figure out Soom's Website so I didn't even know my guy was coming. I came home to find him waiting for me.
