I'll probably only get to order him at the end of the year, or next year.
Does anyone think he will still be available by then?

I'm quite sure Sol will be available for a while, considering he's not a limited or anything, and this is just the begining of the new line. The only one that should be eventually going away is Darkside Norman, but don't quote me on that. If you're really curious and wanna know before you take the time to wait, email Ringdoll. I'm sure they'll be more than happy to tell you if they're planning on discontinuing a sculpt anytime soon.

i'm quite agree on your point, i think that the special full-set-clothes and make-up Darkside Norman- could be limited.

I'm saving up to order a Sol from MoC... His sculpt is just gorgeous. I hope to be able to order by their March 30 order date.

Ah! I see! I will do that now ^^ A week or so ago, I asked on their dA but haven't gotten an answer... they said "Of course sweetie, you can order Sol anytime and we'll send it [order] in" but this doesn't really help. I haven't gotten a reply since rephrasing my question.

Jointed hands, oh, I'd love it if they'd sell those. <3 That mechanical hand is awesome, too, but it wouldn't fit my guy's character.

The mechanical hand is completely different from other jointed hands. There are no strings and the movements are very limited, so if Ringdoll is going to make their own jointed hands, they have to start from scratch.


Last year, I was told by RD had the plan to release jointed hands the next (=2011) year, however I have no idea how reliable this information is. You can see that RD is very slow. How long the grown has been around and all we can see is just "recycling" 1 head (+ the modified one ~ Dark Norman). And they will probably do the 1/3 size body jointed hands first.

Sign, just now I’m really unhappy about ordering Grown to be honest. I’ve ordered him on 25/12 and till now (already more than two months!!!) Ringdoll was not able to provide me a single photo of the new resin color (normal) I have ordered. All I can see is Sol/Kyle/Norman in white or tan color in different clothes. So if anybody sees a photo of the NEW normal resin anywhere, please let me know, I’d really like to see it. Or even better if there is any note if it is like xxx (Spiritdoll, Dollzone, etc.) company resin color.
(I can't access FB, so I can’t ask them there and they didn’t reply my emails at all).

Yeah, with the Christmas and Chinese New Year rushes, I think a lot of the companies are a tad bit behind. Hopefully they say something soon to you, Tsukasa. If anything, you might even be able to contact some of the dealers and ask them if they've gotten any sort of information on the new normal skin. I know Mint talks to some of their companies through Instant Messaging instead of email, but I'm not sure if they do it with RD. And thanks for the picture! That's such a great comparison photo.

As with the jointed hands, if anything, many other companies have several sizes of jointed hands out already if you really want them. The only problem is matching the resin colors without someone actually getting their grown first.

(On a seperate note, My decision for a grown has just been posed with the thought of eradication; I just saw the new idealian @.@)

Ah! That's true. Jointed hands are very different. I didn't think about that.
But still~ Ringdoll has such nice sculpts. I don't especially like IS hands and am only ordering Dikadoll hands for 1/3.... It would also be nice to have jointed hands matching Sol's tan!
Urgh. Just thinking about the wait hurts. But it gives me time to save up money, at least!

Oh well. I'm not sure that RD gets as much business as VOLKS or Soom or such. I don't even know how large the team is? (Mmm... I still like RD better than Idealian)

i agree with you, personally i love Ringdoll,i find that their sculp and body, and posability is far away better then other company much more popular, and even if they aren't such big company at least the matter is just to have a good quality and some nice dolls.

The Ringdoll sculpt has something to me that I don't see in the Idealian. Gorgeous dolls, still, though.

I can't wait until I have him in hand and can see how he poses. <3

Hi Tsukasa,

I have two Ringdolls - both girls (scripping for a Sol though) normal skin (new type resin) and white skin. The new type still has a translucent look but it is more opaque compared to the older resin.

I think this is very early to say it about Grown, since there are no photos apart from those from Ringdoll, and those don't show any outstanding poseability imo (I'm spoiled and high demanding, I know). So unfortunately we are yet to find out how well it poses.

Good question, since this is Ringdoll's 2nd change and 3rd resin since they started producing.

Hard to say about Grown, true, but the teens are pretty solid posers. The body posing appears similar in the body pics but I look forward to seeing it once we have owner pics.

Well mine is opaque, she is matt but there is a slight "glow"...I could be wrong I could be right.
It could be the second resin recipe - but it was the recipe they went to when they chose the three base skins - white, normal and tan. She was ordered in September and cast October/November. Sorry for creating any confusion

I have noticed on the Ringdoll Resin Matches Thread That they were going more opaque in December.
Sometimes it is better to wait...I'm planning on get a Sol eventually but my finances are very tender at the moment so at least this will give me time to keep an eye out.
