HaineeI agree with wc-dragon and team two - Sawyer looks terrific!! I love her expression!!
And welcome to new Minoru owners !!! The more the merrier![]()
Thanks guysI'm happy I had the guts to wipe her faceup, I always found she looked so weird with those black hairs against her blonde/carrot lashes and eyebrows... It's not a "perfect" faceup, I'm not that experienced yet, but I quite like it!
Sirius53Black: congrats! It's good to see new people order Juniors, this threat needs more visitors![]()
If you guys remember the white bunny Minoru Junior I was raving about, she was available again and I bought her this time! She will come home around Thursday I think, can't wait to play with her! She will be so much taller than my White rabbit yo though :O
I was reading the About page on Minoruworld and got confused by this statement: MINORU WORLD is online shop for Super Dollfie from ©Volks INC
Does that mean the Junior line is made by Volks????
The person who runs Minoruworld: I'm the charge of MINORU WORLD who like making a stuffs.
MINORU is a nick name using for 10 years, real name is YoungJoo, June.
So did she/he sculpt the Minoru dolls or????
How great news for you CharmeC!!
I have no idea about how the Minoru/Bluefairy business is working, I noticed in the Shiny Fairy thread that someone said Minoru now owned Bluefairy. I didn't think Volks was involved too? Minoru/Bluefairy is Korean, Volks is japanese.
Maybe Minoru (YoungJoo) started out as a Korean dealer for Volks, or comissioned them for making shoes etc?
It would sure be interesting to know more
Edited to say; Both Minoru and Bluefairy share the exact same snail mail address and phone number!
My new girl is on her way in the mail, so I keep my fingers, and toes, crossed for her slipping past the customs..
Boy was that quick and excellent service!! I asked about her five days ago, ordered and payed for her four days ago, and she was shiped yesterday![]()

Hmmm, I thought it was so that YoungJoo used to sculpt for Bluefairy but then started her own "company" while still selling the TFs. She sculped the MW Juniors so that's here line and she runs the MW site. But I've also hears she now owns Bluefairy? Or that they have become the same thing? I've never heard of Volks having anything to do with it though
Anyway congrats on the purchase CharmeC and congrats on the shipment TeamTwo!!
Thank you Hainee
I'm awfully nervous though...

TeamTwo,
Customs duty on dolls is a problem in Europe? I seem to remember seeing someone else mention about customs charging duty on their doll too. I hope your doll sneaks by successfully, looking forward to pictures!

Yes, a big problem. I can only speak for Norway, but our limit for personal import is very low, approx. $34.00. If the item's value is more, the custom taxes me, 25% of the entire value AND shipping cost + custom fee (about $30.00 or so).
For a gift (or a "gift"), the limit is approx. us$170.00, if the value is higher, I'm taxed for the entire value and shipping cost, plus I have to pay the fee (a fee I have to pay for paying the tax, beat that *lol*).
It's quite simmilar in the European Union, Australia, and Canada, to my knowledge, but the limits, taxes and fees vary.
We dread the customs![]()

Oh I feel your pain TeamTwo...our customs work generally the same way. Except we get to pay the 25% + customs fee on everything that's over $70 gift or no gift. But my Minoru came through unnoticed so I hope you girl gets lucky, too^^
About the Minoruworld & Bluefairy & Volks thing. To my understanding Minoruworld started out basically as a shopping service for Volks. Then they became an agent for Bluefairy, and after a while dropped the Volks products. They have been a BF agent for quite some time, even having their exclusive limiteds...but all the dolls were sculpted by Bluefairy. The Minoruworld Junior line is also such an exclusive thing - sculpted by the BF sculptors, sold by Minoruworld. A few months ago the owner of Minoruworld also became the owner of Bluefairy though - the sculptors are the same, they still have two separate websites, but now Minoru also owns the Bluefairy company^^ The biggest difference between the two sites seems to be that the ordering on the BF site is still the classic "made on demand" style, while on Minoruworld they only sell dolls that are already made and in stock - this is why they ship so incredibly fast. Volks has nothing to do with Bluefairy or Minoruworld now though
Well at least this is how I understood the various tidbits I read![]()

Smaug; Thank you so much for your support, I do hope my sweet Claire slips through just as easily as your boy did!!
And thank you for explaining. I had a general idea that was what the little bits here and there meant, but wasn't sure. I really like how Minoru runs that part of the bussines, the now waiting thingy. But it was very frustrating when they (she?) never updated their stock
Thankfully I got to order my girl very quickly, and I'm amazed by the service so far!
I'm getting very antsy and nervous, mostly about the size, and the customs of course...But if I fall head over heals, it might not take me as long to get a second one from them though![]()

Good luck with your orders, CharmeC and TeamTwo!! I had no idea about the customs things; how very frustrating!! Do you know why customs is so evil there? I've got my fingers crossed for you, TeamTwo, that your unassembled Clare (I think I saw a little discussion on unassembled dolls) passes through without trouble!
Wow, 25% tax is truly evil! But what if the value of the parcel was marked down to under $70?
We've got the same thing with the customs, I really dread them. With my last dollie, she stayed in customs for over 3 weeks, they had cut open the doll box (the nice one that you keep) and I had to pay about $140 to get her. And it doens't matter if the company marks the parcels down because when they're not sure they send you a letter to let you know that you have to send them the paypal invoice and note how much the package is worth before they release itstupid customs...
BUT Sawyer made it through unnoticed! She's the only dollie that managed to do that![]()
Thank you for your good luck-wishes, Peppermintsheep!!
Yes, she's unassembled and blank, I love the idea of her being a "kit" for me to finish
CharmeC; we pay 25% tax on everything, excluding basic food (14%) and services (taxi, hotels, cinema, (8%)
Hainee; I'm sorry your customs grab everythingI've been rather lucky so far, about 50% pass through, and most of those are marked down, without questions asked.
I've had horribly high claims on silly low values though, but choose not to argue, in case they check my stuff closer the next time.. And it's not possible to tell what they look for, or not.
The size, weight, content, or stated value doesn't nessisarily make any difference on what they deside to charge me. I'm pussled *lol*
And it makes me nervous...
The main reason for the tax/VAT here (that is, what the politicians say), is to protect our own commerse, aka it shall not be cheaper for the individual to shop clothing, cd's, cosmetics, hobby articles, you name it, overseas, than in a local (tax paying!!) shop.
Our free limit has been unchanged (as an actual number) since 1978. So the Nok 200,- I can spend as I like today, is worth WAY less than the Nok 200,- I could've spent in 1978.
I find it reasonable when it's goods I can buy, or order, in my own country, but when the item in mention isn't available in any kind of Norwegian store, real or online, I get a little bit annoyed (put in the nicest way possible)
Did that make sense?

That makes a lot of sense to me... In my country it's also to protect the inner market (I guess it's the same all through Europe). But I don't think it's fair they ask such high prices for something I just can't find inside of Europe (I'm not even talking about alone in Belgium, lol).
Yeah, I know. And to top it of, we're outside of EU, so if I bought from you, I'd have to pay VAt on the same item you initially paid VAT on, at least you can freely buy within the EU
It is to protect the inner market (that's the words I wanted, thanks!!), and with less than 5 mill. people, our market is pretty darned small *lol*

25% tax on everything..........can the average income keep up with that? Maybe it's time to start a BJD company in Norway! (Like the way YoungJoo started her/his little Minoruworld company)
