PM Box Upgrades now available!

We have finished testing and are ready to offer purchasable PM box upgrades!

About the PM Box Upgrades

The forum default is currently 500 messages.

The "Double" Upgrade will allow you to store up to 1000 private messages. The cost is $12 per year ($1 per month).

The "Super" Upgrade will allow you to store up to 2000 private messages. The cost is $24 per year ($2 per month).


These are simply upgrades that will allow you to store more PMs on our server. We do not consider these "paid" or "premium" memberships and there are no special privileges or additional services associated with purchasing. There are also no negative consequences for not upgrading; your account will simply remain unchanged.

All funds go directly into DoA's hosting fund. As you may have guessed, powering a large, active website like Den of Angels is very expensive!

Please note that upgrade fees are non-refundable. If you stop using the forum, there is no way to receive a refund for your upgrade. Please take a moment to make sure that you want the upgrade before purchasing!

How to Upgrade Your PM Box

To upgrade, go to your User Control Panel, then click the link from the left menu that says "Paid Subscriptions." On the next screen, you will be able to choose which upgrade you would like. Payment is handled automagically through Paypal.

If you purchase the Double Upgrade and decide later that you would like the Super Upgrade, please PM armeleia. The change and payment will need to be done manually, otherwise you will end up overpaying.

without the upgrade, what is the max size for a normal PM box? I thought it was 200, but apparently at 161 my PM box was full and people were unable to get in touch with me... what is the new max size?

I'd like to know too, as mine was also just notified to be full, and I've had to clear it so that in-coming PMs won't get stuck. Also, I'd like to ask what happened to the colourful bar that showed how many PMs were in the inbox, how many in sent PMs, and how much space was left in the inbox? I found that bar to be very helpful, as it told me at a glance if I needed to clear anything out.

I do hope it (or something similar) will make a reappearance. I think it's quite useful. 8D

I'm not a mod, but this is what the first post in this thread says:

And the bar showing how full the inbox and Sent Items folder is still there--it's just moved to the bottom of the PM screen. Scroll all the way down when you're in your PMs, and you'll find it.

Please keep in mind that your total PMs is the sum of the PMs you have received as well as the PMs that you have sent.

Hi...I upgraded to the larger PM box and now I want the Sooper Dooper size. How do I go about doing that? I've sent a couple of PMs but never heard back.

I understand that I won't get an instant response from a mod but considering that my second request was sent on 10/28/10 which means that my first one would have been sent at the least 2 weeks earlier, I think that posting in here should be the next step.

Especially considering that I still have not heard back on how to upgrade from my original upgrade.

I don't really need an upgrade to my PM box but I wouldn't mind donating some money towards DoA hosting costs. Is there a way to do just that instead? Have I missed something somewhere where it talks about such a thing? Sorry I'm such a newbie.
