Just thought I'd mention that Fabric Friends and Dolls http://fabricfriendsdolls.com/ is going to be the RS dealer in the US and they mention that you can pre-order through them. I am quite taken with Erica's face so I'm debating whether to take the plunge and order my first big BJD.

Anyone know how close a match the normal RS skin tone is with Shinydoll's normal resin. I'm thinking an Erica head with a Thaasa body could be perfect for me.

Just for reference, the new normal skin is not the same as the normal skin they used in the past. It is darker and more yellow than the guys I have. I think the new girls my have been poured by Crobi.

Nancy, thank you so much for the pictures! Very interesting. It looks like the new body has a bigger butt and a thicker waist? I saw that both girls are on stands. How well can they stand on their own?

They both stand well. The old body stands a bit more easily. I think the resin is not as smooth and the ankles hold position a bit better. The floor of my light box is a little flexible, so I use stands with more than one doll.

The measurements in cm:

Old body: Bust 26 Waist 18.7 Hips 27.9

New body: Bust 26 Waist 19.3 Hips 28.3 (bust is lower and fills out the dress better)

I keep meaning to PM racius and ask what happened. I had got the impression that he would keep raurencio studio going.

Perhaps RSDOLL has been so successful that he hasn't been able to run both lines at once.

I hope so - there were at least two of the girls that I loved. I know he has talked of adding the boy heads to the new-style bodies.

I hope the Raurencio Studio ladies will be appearing soon on the new RSdoll site too; I very much admired Stella, Ray, and Erica, as well as several of the sweet little sculpts in their Kid line.
