    DoA for Mobile Users

We've installed Tapatalk, which is an app for Blackberry, Android, and iPhone.

    It looks pretty good!

There are free versions for Blackberry, Android, and iPhone... but they're unfortunately read-only. (So you can view posts, threads, and PMs, but you won't be able reply.)

The paid version for all three systems is $2.99. Some other forums use Tapatalk, so if you download the application to your mobile, you may be able to browse them as well if their admins have installed the plugin.

DoA will still be usable in the standard browsers on your mobile, but this is a bit better suited to DoA's wide, text-heavy format. It's fairly userfriendly as well!

If you choose to download the app, you can just search to find Den of Angels by name.

We hope to eventually add mobile-friendly skins, but for now this is the best that we can do.

    Enjoy!

I am happy to help you, but please use the Ask the Mods subforum!

Any word on how good this works from some users? I'd like to download the app for my iPhone but hate paying for things until I read the reviews

You can always test out the free version (though that one is read-only, so you can't reply to stuff)... but I've been using the paid version on iPhone and it seems to work really well. They just updated the app a few days ago and added a simple search.

does this fix the issue of not being able to log in?
I'm using a Blackberry Curve 8530 (Verizon Wireless) and can view the forum fine (normal view, not mobile friendly) but there's no log in option where there should be, only register.

Before I go through the trouble of downloading this, I'd like to know if that will fix that problem.

and I'd also update the thread to say "ipod touch" friendly as well, since it is (the iphone and the ipod touch run the same OS)
I haven't tried looking at DoA on my ipod touch though, so I don't know if there's a problem to begin with.

My phone runs Android 2.1, and DoA looks fine on the standard browser without Tapatalk installation. I can post replies too, no problems. Just a quick note for Android users who might not want to download. ^^

Edit: I use a Motorola Milestone, and yes, the forum is mobile friendly on my browser.

Yeah, I tried the tapatalk. Didn't really do much for me. I have web on my phone, so I can view DOA just as I can on the computer.

DoA doesn't get anything for people downloading or using the Tapatalk app, we're just providing it as an option for mobile users because we haven't found a really mobile-friendly skin. If it doesn't work for you or your phone has a good enough browser, obviously there's no need to use it.

I've found it helpful on iPhone because DoA is a very wide forum, so it doesn't scale well in the browser.

I found out about this function a few days ago I find it useful. On a whim bought the app I find it's pretty good for quick replies and browsing. Though the app tends to freeze when it does work it is a quicker way if not a bit disorganized way of viewing active threads than the iphone browser which i find i have to keep resizing to click on the appropriate section.

I follow the news feed of DoA via a free rss reader which I find more useful.

    .

I'm just asking if anyone knows if it fixes the problem I'm having with not being able to log in with my browser.
I haven't downloaded it yet o_0 so I don't know if it's going to work. I'm asking anyone who has downloaded it if it does.

Did you find the app for the iTouch?

I dont really have any problems posting on my droid when using the browser. what i did have problems with was going in to my PM box, the link wouldn't open it up. so what I did instead, was bookmark the address to the PM inbox, and now I retrieve messages that way XD so if any one has problems with that on their droid, there is a way around it!

The app for the iTouch is exactly the same as the one for the iPhone. I use it on mine with no problems.
