Souldoll Tarot Card 18 "The Moon" LEIRA Discussion

It looks like all the extra/regular pieces come in the "extra parts" section -- new hands must be fist hands, rabbit ears, rabbit tail, heel feet.. I'm guessing "hands" might mean.. the rabbit hands? If they are, maybe you can ask souldoll to substitute the rabbit hands for regular zenith hands? It looks like the rabbit hands just slip over the fist hands.

I'm only interested in the ears, lol, but I don't think I can get just those.

darkangelxix -- They wont release the outfit separately; any outfit offered with a doll can only be ordered by getting the doll.. I've asked before.

I honestly don't know how I feel about her!
I really like her face, her wig, her outfit and shoes, that much is certain - though I wish there was MORE to the outfit.. it seems so simple after Celina and Kayla.
The bunny parts though.... a bunny girl in itself is something that just doesn't interest me, and even if it did, I feel like something is lacking here.
Now, we are given the option to not get those parts, but then I wonder if the doll with her dull human ears (we all know I hate human ears xD) is going to be enough fantasy for me?
Kayla is fabulous and I can put up with her human ears just because her colour and outfit are THAT amazing.. but Leira's moon light grey skin seems so light, it could be white and I feel that without her bunny parts, she's probably going to come across as a WS human doll (which I have no interest in).

I also wonder about this new body.
Is it just the Double body without the double joints and much longer legs? Seems to me that the long legs are the big difference here.
It's a pretty stressful decision to make, as I suspect the general body is going to suffer some pose-ability issues in favour of looking good.. but those long legs are NICE... but the great thing about the Double body was that it was so small and perfect for people who don't like big dolls. Hmm.

Also as I mentioned in the News thread, we really don't know how much is included.
The blushing for example, there's so much going on here but it doesn't say whether this is or isn't an option or if it's part of the faceup cost.

I just had very high expectations for the next Tarot card doll as my Kayla is just the most amazing doll ever..and I'm feeling right now that Leira has a lot going for her, I'm just not sure if it's enough to measure up to the standard Kayla has set for my dolly expectations!

 

Love her face, and she's grey. Grey the official recent weakness of doom. She's on layaway -- so all the mysteries will, I suppose, be revealed in time. I am hoping she's the Zenith body; she's definitely larger than the double girl from the look of things. It's a pretty body, no matter what it is.

 

I'll just echo my excitement over this new body, I hated the knee joints on their other bodies, so this body is gorgeous to me

 

I love the Leira doll. Does anyone know for these limited, does souldoll ever release them again as basic? I really love that body too. I hope Souldoll will have the option for this body on their other zenith dolls.

 

As far as I can tell, some of the Tarot edition dolls have been released as basic...and some have not. Is this correct?
I admit that I wasn't following too closely at the beginning, but they have caught my attention with the Zenith size. ^_~

That said, I sincerely hope that Leira is released as a basic. I wouldn't mind getting her someday, not at all. Hehe.
I enjoy her little teeth so much, she's lovely.
I also really like the look of the new body. I believe, if I understand them right, that it is a version of the Zenith body that is not double jointed. Much as I enjoy the mobility with double joints...I like the look of this body so much more!

...but the bunny hands kind of scare me... O.O

 

I'm having a hard time seeing how she relates to the tarot card she is supposedly based on. If remenber correctly the traditonal image has a dog and wolf howling at the moon and a scorpion crawling up from a pool of water below them?

I guess the bunny girl thing must come from the Japanese idea of seeing a rabbit on the face of the moon, but it's kind of a dissapointment, really. I was hoping for something a bit different! Especially as iplehouse have just released a set of bunny girls too. Maye it's beacuse we just had easter recently.

 

She most likely is the Zenith body; being at about 63cm, there's no way she can be a double body. At first just from pictures I actually thought she was a double, but then I saw the height at the bottom of the page and noticed it was zenith. Too big for me!

The more I look at it the more I wish souldoll was a little more clear! I wish they'd post a full nude body shot of the body. And the more I look the more I like, at first all I saw was "OMG BUNNY GIRL SO COOL" (Im one of those weird people that likes bunny people, I'll admit it), but now that I'm actually looking at her face, she's got an adorable little expression going on there, I love her mouth. She'd look so cute with worried eyebrows. The only thing bugging me is since her eyes are so wide, it looks like her eyes are kind of far apart.

Also, am I the only one who thinks they should have an option to have an earless head if they're going to slap animal ears on the doll? I mean, if she's a bunny girl, why does she have her bunny ears, but then human ears still kinda there..? I think it would be kinda cool to see anyway.

 

I have been waiting for someone to release a SD size bunny girl since I discovered BJDs and now Iplehouse and Souldoll have at the same time

To be honest, I was hoping to see some large rabbit leg parts on her, similar to how Soom do their Monthly Dolls with their anthro legs. However, I love this Souldoll's face! Her expression is so sweet and perfect for the concept! I am intrigued by the gray skin as well.

Am I the only one that really doesn't care for the outfit? It makes me think she should be carrying a tray with cigarettes and peanuts in a casino...I thought she should be more of a representation of a ethereal figure. It definitely feels like a backwards step since Kayla and Shiva...

Her bunny hands are a bit confusing to me--they look like they might just enclose her normal hands because they are so huge and have such noticeable seams.

I REALLY want her because finally there is a bunny girl but...I don't know if I just want her for that or if I am actually in love with this one... Hard choice!

 

Wow, is THAT ever a far cry. The Moon was always one of my favorite classic card images - eerie vision of crustaceans and howling wolves and indifferent sky - and lo, Souldoll giveth cocktail waitresses. XD

Hate the paws. Like JennyNemesis I also have loved the Moon in its Tarot glory whether it be imagery or meaning.... and this... just doesn't quite deliver.

It seems like most of the souldoll bodies have such short arms. And her normal hands look really small too. But I love her face and teeth.

 

I think this doll is very sweet looking and the more I look at her the more I like her. Her cute little mouth and big eyes slay me lol. Plus I think she would look pretty wicked with my Breccia.

What exactly does the Layaway symbol mean with Souldoll, can you not pay for her in full?

 

You can pay for her in full.
I never quite figured out what it meant. I thought perhaps it means layaway is available but it doesn't appear for all dolls.
But I am positive you can pay in full in the first go.

 

Feel free to label me a doilem but does anybody know why they chose a rabbit to represent the moon? Is it because of the Japanese myth about a rabbit on the moon(and other Asian countries that I don't know much about the mythology of)?

 

As theyre going by tarot cards im not sure 100% if they followed the legend of rabbit and the moon, but thats very possible and makes the most sense.

She is quite beautiful. The rabbit theme is very lovely for her, the wig is my favorite piece she has though, her skintone as well is wonderful. Souldoll seems to be doing much better now.

 

Well, I think she's gorgeous. I just adore her face... I'm really not feeling the paws, though. I'd gladly take the more limited mobility of this body for the great looks of it. The waist/hip area is still a little weird for me, but I still like it much more than the first Zenith body.

I really hope that they offer her as a basic, since I'm not after her bunny parts and I don't know how much I'd like grey skin, but after they didn't rerelease a basic Kayla I'm worried that she'll be one-time only... karleecakes I totally agree that she'd look great with Breccia! That's exactly the first thing I thought, hehe.
