Thread: BlueFairy Shiny Fairy discussion part 1

Thank you all for your kind comments! ^o^

xaya: Omg, your trio looks so fashionable in their new outfits! All the clothes fit them so nicely. I love the dresses especially and how you combined the two fabrics on one dress and then switched them on the other. Love the lace on the bottom, too (black lace is so gorgeous)! And I understand what you mean about not having enough light indoors for dolly photography, it's always driving me bonkers! And if I do find a spot, there's always stuff (furniture, etc) in the background that I don't want in the pic LOL.

My new Enchanted Doll urethane eyes arrived today for Honey, so I bring new picturesss. Honey also got a new dolly, a little Polly Pocket:

The eyes are a custom Milky color (Milky #31 + Milky #04 in a half gradation, with a Milky #06 color rim) and because of the nice gradation, the color is shifting between a light brown with yellow in it and a light brown that's more chocolate-y. I also like the golden shimmer in the eyes because it makes them sparkle even more! Here's a close-up shot of them in the box before I put them on Honey. It shows the color better.

A comparison shot of the new ED eyes and her default acrylics:

And here she is being cuddled by her new fuzzy elephant friend, his super long arms and legs are hilarious:

Ooh the new eyes are very lovely!
I also have a pair of #31 and the colour is simply gorgeous <3 So the colour mixes are all tones of browns? It is very pretty.

    I also have spam! <3

Thank you all for the compliments! ^^ I should sew more, and I'll eventually do that since I got a new approach to my LDoll sewing; sew some for own dolls and some for LDoll. So I'll be keeping one dress/outfit/jeans what ever for my own from each batch I sew. ^^ At the moment I'm continuing sewing dresses. This one are blue. Sorry about PF and Lati at the photo with the Shiny girls.

Locksley, I forgot to tell you how much I adore your little Honey. <3 Her whole look is so sweet and darling, I love outfits you sew.

    navci
, Theo is soo adorable! What I was supposed to ask last time was that where did you get that outfit, or have you mentioned it before? Little Prince <3 ^^

.. I can't believe my luck. Look who moved in today. Sorry, she's right out from the parcel, no wig, eyes dropping blabla.. ;w; I think you all wishing me good luck was helping.

navci: Love your #31 EDs, the color is so pretty! It goes well with the faceup palette! I'm getting another pair of EDs (probably Sweety) for my May because I want to try out different eyecolors. ^__^

xaya: All your dresses are adorable! The blue fabric you've used is a great choice for summer. Indeed, I love how summer-y the dresses look. They'd look fab with some flats or flip-flops. Hee! ^o^

And, OMG, you've got a 1st ver May! Congrats! \o/ We've got another May around here! Awww, that sweet off-the-shoulder dress... Cute, cute! And I know exactly how you feel when you say how lucky you are. The secondary market can be a life saver, especially when it comes to dolls no longer being made. My May (all my bjd, actually) is from Y!J, too, and just last week there was a 1st ver SF Hana for 26,000 JPY and earlier today a SF Special Benjamin for 23,000 JPY. There's still shopping deputy fees to add to the amount but, yeah, those are not bad prices at all, I think. ^^ And both Hana and Benjamin came with their wig, shoes and complete outfit, just like my May. The only thing that sucks for us Europeans are customs fees but they're always worth it when you're getting a wishlist doll! Nothing could ever make me regret buying May, she is worth every cent/penny/younameit. :-D

Congrats again and I hope you got your May for a good price!

Haven't posted these to my Flickr yet, Honey in her newest outfits:

I call that her "teddybear girl" outfit, aww. She loves pretending to be a teddy ("And I have a teddy companion, too! See? Her name's BoBo!"). The oversized hat feels super soft and hopefully adds to the sweet "kiddy" look. The skirt and necklace are by me, the hoodie is TTYA. A couple more:

It's funny she's looking into space as if she's daydreaming, yet BoBo's practically staring at the camera LOLOL. BoBo probably doesn't even know what a camera is! It's like the neighbour's dog that keeps staring at me whenever I'm taking pictures in the garden because the strange sound of the shutter - snap snap snap - is unfamiliar to him.

The following is one of my favourite outfits Foxy Browny has ever made, the green sweater is gorgeous and lined and I love the floral pattern of the tights and how full the skirt is:

I'll have much more time to post here during the summer holidays and I'm already looking forward to it! ^__^

Oh actually Theo wasn't wearing ED. Sorry I word my sentences in a confusing way. :>

Locksley Your Honey is so cute~

I took Hannah out to a park recently, only got a couple shots but this was my favorite!

And Xaya you should totally sell matching outfits for all the BF sizes... I'd buy some!

  8. #368
navci: Ahh, my bad! >.<; In that case, they look as pretty as any EDs! I'm a big lover of eyes in general but Honey's the first doll in the Yo-SD size that I own, so I only have her default eyes and her EDs so far. But I need more!

reichiere: Awww, I love Hannah's realistic pose and the way she's leaning down to touch the flowers! She looks so cute in her wig (was the braid already there or did you braid her hair yourself? ^^). You know, I'd love for SF to have optional hands like fist hands and pointing hands and whatnot. I'd use them all the time in photo shoots because they add so much character.

I was also wondering, what are everyone's favourite shoes or shoe company for SF? What shoes for SF do you really like and would recommend to other SF fans? ^^ I love this pink DollHeart pair of Mary-Jane shoes my May's been wearing because the quality is so nice and the size is just right for her feet (can add socks, too, so not too tight), and the style is easy to combine with lots of different outfits. Lovely shoes, not bulky/oversized, and they've got a shiny look. I've pre-ordered the same pair in pale blue now and Dollheart will add another random pair, as well, because it's part of their current 'Natsu Matsuri' lucky bag sale (pay for one pair, get the second random pair at 36% off).

The shoes' strap has velcro underneath which I find easier to handle than straps you actually have to put through a miniature buckle to close. The straps get worn if you use the shoes often and I'm always worried I'll ruin a good pair that way. >.<; And on official pics you can't see whether the shoes use velcro and a decoration-only buckle, or the actual buckle, and that only makes it harder to shop for shoes, at least in my eyes.

Here's the official pic of the blue and pink pair in question (products YS000126 and YS000125, $29.90 each):

Sometimes they're temporarily sold out on the site or just disappear but they put them back up when they're in stock, so no worries.

Has anyone tried Leeke shoes? How is the fit? Do any supposedly Yo-SD sized shoes listed on their site, don't fit SF that well? I'm worried I'd get an expensive pair that looks awesome and then it wouldn't even fit May.

Locksley Thanks~ The braid was already their. It's the Afi default wig. Hannah stole it the day it showed up and hasn't given it back yet!

I can't answer any question about shoes... it's the one thing I really lack in yo-sd size range! Most of tinies are fantasy so they don't wear shoes! I think I do have a leeke pair at home and I can check it tonight for you.

  10. #370
    Thanks Locksley! :>

About shoes.... I have mostly Blue Fairy shoes cuz they have the styles I like and the colours I like. I rather like the quality of them. The problem with Leeke shoes is that they based the design on their SD size shoes and shrink it down. Like their wigs, it works sometimes and look hideous in others, so if you were to buy from them, I'd say choose simpler styles.

I'd definitely recommend buying from other companies that design the shoes for each size, say, Rosenlied.

Locksley, Thank you so much! ^^ I've sewn more since those photos, I hope I'll be able to squeeze some time off now that my job's ending soon. My girl is also from Y!J, a friend helped me to get her. ;w; My girl came with this dress she has on that picture and it was smelling like damp house like everything else she had with her. I'm glad she was in perfect condition except I had to wash her with soap xD. I had to pay over 100€ for custom fees, but she was worth all! ^^ I've already ordered her a bit darker wig, she'll keep those eyes (Hand glass craft mauve in 14mm). Honey is so adorable! I love the clothes she has and BoBo is so lovely friend for her too! ^o^

reichiere, Hannah is adorable and how beautiful surroundings, great photo! I love that outfit. Ah, maybe I'll have some nice outfits next year, I plan not to participate as a seller for 2013 LDoll (if there'll be one) and sew something for BF sizes in general, maybe some for sale too. ^^ I'm happy people seem to be interested about my sewing. <3

I have too few pairs of shoes for my Shinies and Teeniegems. :/ I need to buy more. Maybe I'll go with Rosenlied like navci suggested! Theo looks fabulously cuuute!

And have a photo of my three girls. ^^ I love the fabrics I used to these dresses, a friend of mine had visited japan few years back and she bought and sent these for me. I had kept them in storage until I now had inspiration for sewing. ^^ I'll need to sew some embellishments for the front. Maybe a bow and something... something!

I hope I'm not intruding, I just wanna blow a tiny bit of life into the thread, I LOVE shiny fairies, and everyone has such lovely dolls
Today I picked up a little Luts package from the post office, to see if Honey Delf clothing fit the shiny fairies, and I must say, all of the stuff I got was a perfect fit!

Here's my girl Hazel, in a nightset, looking a bit moody

Thank you I'm very happy about how well the clothes fit, I've got a 20cm tall with only set due to the uncommon size, but I am in love with the shiny fairies so far :3
At home: SF Paul Girl(Hazel), MW Junior Minoru(Charlie), DZ HanHan (No name yet), BF SF/Jr.Linus (Luna), Dear Lover Rachel (Rachel)

    Wishlist: Too many to list

xaya: Yay for your friend helping you with getting a ShinyFairy off Y!J, that was very kind of her! Sounds like your girl was stored in a damp closet or something, awww, and the smell got in the clothes. If it got into a wig, it would be harder to get out, I think? Luckily all worked out for you in the end! ^_^ My May was fine, I got her via a shopping deputy for a fee, and I wonder sometimes how often she was played with (she was from the first SF pre-order) but it doesn't look like much at all, really. I'd love to give her a bath one day! She needs a bathing suit or some pajamas, awww. It would make for a cute scene.

And don't you just hate customs fees? Geez, 100 EUR is no little change, it's a large amount of money! My customs fee was 90 EUR ($119) and I put it to the side earlier because I was expecting to be charged (a package as heavy as that doesn't get ignored by customs). If I didn't know there'd be a heavy fee before, it would have been a big blow and my wallet would have cried from being so skinny all of a sudden LOL (well, it cried anyway LOLOL). Still, I could have saved that money for another doll! >_<; Instead, you get used to these fees and they don't surprise you anymore... *sigh*

I love the Japanese fabrics you've picked for the new dresses! There's always a special something about Japanese fabrics... The fabric pattens you've chosen are classy and sophisticated, yet they look perfect on child-like dolls like SF. That's the magic of lovely Japanese fabrics. Oh, to go all crazy with fabric shopping in Tokyo! One of the fabric stores there, called Tomato, is a spot I'd want to go see if I went to Japan! And it's lovely how you've picked dark lace for the first dress because the fabric has some dark patterns, too, so they match wonderfully, and I love the gentle colors of the one in the middle. The dresses look so sweet with bare feet.

navci: Thankies! Aww, my May wants to give your adorable wee prince a hug! Hee, your pics of him are encouraging me to get a SF boy, too. He'd probably be dressed all girly, though, or like a little baby. *laugh* I love cutesy styles. It's great there's lots of casual and street style clothing for boys, though, such as faded jeans and cool hoodies and vests and stuff like that. After being dressed like a girl, my boy would definitely want to "upgrade" to a casual style LOLZ (and be secretly relieved)! The casual style looks just as sweet on girls (I'd love to try out some baggy jeans on my May, hehe).

Do you have these brown Mary-Jane shoes from BlueFairy, perhaps? I've liked them since I got my May because the quality looks good and the color is really nice. These flats look pretty, too. And thank you for the recommendation, I've been looking at Rosenlied before and fell in love with their antique-looking Yo-SD booties especially, but didn't know if they'd fit SF. Even though the price is high ($38!), the quality seems to be worth it! Hopefully there's a group order for Rosenlied on DOA soon.

PotatoMash: What a cute girl you have! <3 I'm glad to hear about Honey Delf clothes, I love all the lace and the little bow and the cute socks, of course! Hee, socks with a bit of lace on them are my fave ever! They remind me of antique doll clothing. So romantic! I'd never want to cover them up with shoes. And of course you're not intruding! The more members we have posting here, the better. This is even our 400th post in the thread! \o/

Some pics I haven't posted yet, a wonderful new summer dress and handmade shoes for my May by Atelier Momoni:

A close-up of the shoes is here at my Flickr. And on the pic below I wanted to capture the summer-y feel of the outfit by having Honey stand in the garden, as the last sunrays of the afternoon were peeking through the trees:

From a couple months back at a flower park, Honey was standing under a beautiful tree, the ground was littered with flower petals and they created this amazing contrast with the green in the background:

    And a more recent close-up:

She's so tiny, a rose looks big in her hands! <3

<3 I love all your dolls. They look so well taken care of. <3 I especially love your Theo, navci.

And also a pic of my own shiny fairy, Lucy:

  17. #377
keksmitmilch: Hee, such a pretty, innocent and gentle-looking girl! <3 I love her hair - this haircolor is so beautiful on ShinyFairies - and the position of the eyes that gives her that 'sideways look'. Aw, she even has a headband and I adore her dress! Did you make her heart necklace?

And, yayz, you're from Austria (keksmitmilch = cookie with milk! ^o^), so we're neighbours (I'm from Slovenia), and that's awesome. I've been to Austria before and always loved it, whether it was a schooltrip or traveling with my parents. Because there's only a handful of bjd owners in my tiny country (we never even met), it's always exciting to know others aren't that far away!

BlueFairy announced limited Pocket Fairy Remmy and MiniMay in tan skin! Aren't they wonderful? Those cute slim legs! >o< And there are the tan Tiny Fairy 'Marine' Kyle and May, as well. How I wish they'd do tan ShinyFairy in the future, too! I'm sure they'd be limiteds as well, so I'd need to keep checking the site all the time to not miss my chance of ordering... But just imagining a beautiful tan May or Hana or whatever headmold they decide to "bake" next (LOLZ that expression always cracks me up), gives me this huge smile on my face! I'd love my May to have a tanned friend! The contrast the blond wigs and the tan skin of the 'Marine' Kyle and May create is amazing and really eye-catching. It's contrast-y and complimenting at the same time. Add eyes in some stunning color and the contrast would be even more incredible (not that it isn't already but there's so many great eyecolor choices now).

No no no... that is horrible news....

But only because I have no monies....

But hopefully they'll have a shiny fairy in tan soon! I'd get one!

  19. #379
reichiere: I know, right? The tan version is fabulous! One of my fave releases BlueFairy has ever made. Here's to hoping a tan SF is in the making because I'm sure it would be very popular, like most tanskinned dolls, I think? Keeping my fingers crossed! And I have a feeling if a tan SF is indeed made one day, it'll be the month when I have no money for sure LOL. It's like Murphy's Law! Argh.

Here's a quick pic of the new tan PF release (and my reaction below, haha, hope that's not against the rules):

    I HAVE ALL THESE FEELINGS.

I really hope they do some tanned Shiny Fairies because I've been wanting a tan Andy since their Baked May and Olive release, I'll just ignore the fact that Andy probably isn't even on the baked radar. :P Then again I also dream of tanned juniors, so maybe I'm just a big dreamerč

I love all the spam, this thread is normally so quiet (oh hi lurker me) but I love it when you all post pictures (living vicariously I most likely am). So much cute! And I love seeing the differences in styling!
