Ah I love re-reading this thread. It helps me stave off the anxiety of waiting for my first doll (which to update: I have ordered a Benjamin). Thank you for all the picture spam... umm can I ask for more?![]()

Gr8pes, Oh Congratulations for Benjamin! ^^ I'll be spamming some more pictures later from my Shinies! 8D

i think i'll go for Sam..she's like a little Alice)
I've fallen in love with the white winter series, sadly I don't think I'll be ordering them. Plus its not good to splurge when I don't even make my own money yet (go Christmas money!) But (i've said this in the BF waiting room) I really wish they would have boy versions of the outfit, maybe they'll make boy versions? All the LEs lately have been based for female dolls I think.
Xaya: I can't wait for more spam!

Gr8pes, I agree-- I'd like more boy limiteds, too, but my bank account sure wouldn't!!: Congratulations to those who have ordered a new doll! Hopefully they'll be here soon.
I don't know how to handle these new Shinies... so irresistible!!![]()
Waiting on.... Tiny Fairy Kate!
Great news everyone! Benjamin has arrived~ You can see him here and I'll spam some lovely Benjamin spam when I have the time to take more pictures.![]()
Gr8pes, Fabulously happy Congratulations for your new Benjamin!!! >w<
I'm loving Sam as a boy, I might buy him as a regular version this year. ^-^ Would be fun if BF would make normal skin sets with different clothes as special order or so. (Not the grey or basic school uniforms there usually are but some jeans or something like that.).

Your dolls are adorable! I wish I could take pictures like that...but my camera is a little on the old side.
Benjamin: "Hello! Thank you for the welcome Kiki!"

Not the best quality pic, alas, but here's Erin modeling for me at the San Diego BJD show
With all the brushing, her wig is getting frizzy (as is my Noel's in front of her)...any hints on how to tame this type of fiber? I know you can use human hair products on mohair, but do they work on these as well?

If the wigs are synthetic I wouldn't advise it! The added chemicals to help keep our hair nice and pretty will just build and gunk up the synthetic fibres (I'm sure there's a more detailed description in the maintenance section, plus ways to tame it).

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I don't use fiber wigs often because I've had others that have gotten very flyaway and unmanageable. Maybe I'll just get them both new wigs...they still have their defaults.

Ah so I thought I'd try to bond a little more with Benny by...removing is head and just playing around with his eyes (got to start restringing somewhere, even if its just taking the head off and then putting it back on right?).
Well seems like Benny is a little stubborn and doesn't like his head taken off very much, the head's still on the body and my fingers hurt... a lot. Have any tips on removing a Shiny Fairy's head (that sounds terrible...)?
Plus another quick question ( I posted this on the eye putty thread but I was just curious what other Blue Fairy owners in general do), Blue Fairy's default eye putty is oil based clay...and reading off the forum you learn pretty quickly that oil and resin do not mix. So should I change his eye putty?![]()
Thanks turbow! I'll drop by my local PharmaPlus and get the silicon ear plugs as soon as I find time. *sigh* I'm still figuring out how to remove the head...
Gr8pes, to get a head off, I pull the S-hooks off the elastics at the doll's feet, and then the elastic isn't so taught, and the head lifts right off. Does the shiny fairy have a magnetic head cap, or is it attached to the S-hook in the head?
@Peppermintsheep: Ah so you take the feet off first!
Well he has a magnet but he also has an eye hook attacked to the head cap to be connected with the S hook... but he didn't come with them attached together. Oh and when taking the head off does the S hook slip out through too or do we have to take the S hook out first before the head will budge?
The S hook does not come out through the neck, but once the feet are off, the head (and the S hook inside it, along with the elastic) will lift right off.![]()
*attempts and fails*... it is easier, maybe I'm just weak? xD
After much struggling I have done it! Ah~ Restringing, its a pain but fun all at the same time.

I used my a knife and small metal file to make the neckhole bigger. I think that's a teeny mistake from BF, why make a neck opening without making sure that the S-hook is going to fit trough. ^^; I have three Shiny Fairies and I've had to do the same operation for all of them.
