    1. Lelahel and Cycy are proud to announce that a great European BJD public trade fair will take place in France, fall of 2010!

      Event: Ldoll Festival.
      Location: Lyon, FRANCE (Double Mixte convention center).

      1000m² (10700 sq ft) of exhibition space are reserved in a popular convention center to accommodate professionals, amateurs and curious visitors of all countries.

      We are privileged to have Peak’s Wood as the Guest of Honor of this first edition of Ldoll Festival!

      This is your opportunity to meet face-to-face a number of artists whose work you love and to buy in person products from many prestigious companies!

      Booths and sales tables are available for booking for both professionals and private sellers.
      We hope to provide you a perfect place to exhibit your many talents related to BJDs, whether it be doll making, face-up creations, clothing, accessories, photography, fanzines, or unique goodies.

      Several contests will be held, including a costume contest, a photography contest and a ‘best sales table’ contest.

      Look also forward to the lottery, with many products to win, including special limited edition dolls!

    5. Peak's Woods Customization Contest

      "Just like the movies"

      Theme

      Participants are to present a doll they have customized, inspired by the atmosphere, the story, the theme, the aesthetics of a movie of their choice. Participants may draw their inspiration from a specific movie scene (atmosphere, colors, aesthetics, costumes, time…) or from a movie on the whole.

      Please keep in mind: This is not a simple cosplay contest. We don’t expect you to duplicate the costume of a character for instance. This is about getting inspired by an atmosphere and submitting to us your vision and your feelings about the movie of your choice.

      Example: Star Wars. We don’t expect you to duplicate Leia’s outfit (even if I really like her style lol), but you could offer us a customization inspired by the atmosphere of the movie or by a specific scene from it.

      Appraisal: Participants and their works will be judged on how well their customization matches the aesthetics of the movie, as well as their attention to detail, their creativity, their ingenuity, the harmony and the coherence of the customization of their doll (wig, eyes, outfits, jewelry…) and the connection to the movie (time, colors, theme, aesthetics…).

      How can I participate?

      Due to limited space available to exhibit the dolls and the security we will provide around them, we have to restrict the number of competitors who will exhibit their work during the festival.

      Therefore we will proceed to a preselection. We require that every participant sends us pictures of their work. Then the jury – made of Peak's Woods and the Ldoll staff – will choose 20 finalists.
      Their work will be presented during the festival.
      The winner will be selected by the vote of the other attendees.

      Dolls:

      We accept all types of resin ball-jointed dolls. Since this contest is sponsored by our guest of honor the BJD company Peak’s Woods, we have chosen to focus on resin dolls. Pullips and vinyl ball-jointed dolls are allowed for all our other contests.

      One doll per participant.

      It is not useful to create a set as we will base our judgment only on the doll.

      Registration:

      People who would like to participate in this contest should register with 3 pictures of their doll before August 31st 2010, at the following email address: [email protected].

      Preselection:

      Once your doll is ready, send us 3 pictures of your customized doll to show us your work – one full-front, one sideways, and the last one from the back.

      We would like you to send us one or two screenshots of your chosen movie, of the scenes that inspired you. We would more easily have an idea of the atmosphere of the movie and thus better judge the quality of your work thanks to those screenshots (since unfortunately we are not sure we will know all the movies you will show us).


      This is not a photography contest. We won’t base our decision on the quality of your pictures. We just ask for those pictures to be clear and sharp enough for us to see every detail you made.


      Deadline: 08/31/20

      Therefore we will proceed to a preselection. We require that every participant sends their photograph. The Ldoll staff will then choose 20 finalists. We will print their pictures into poster format and exhibit them at the festival. The winner will be selected by the vote of the other attendees.

      - Dolls:
      All types of ball-jointed dolls are accepted for this contest.

      You can take a picture of one doll, several dolls, or just part of a doll.

      - Technical details:
      Please send us your pictures with minimum dimensions of 20x20cm, 200dpi, in jpeg format. It is necessary in order for us to provide a good quality of impression.

    7. Ldoll presale tickets now available !!

      How could i buy a ticket ?

      First, please go to our secured special website: http://ldollfestival.billetterie-festivals.com/

      There you have two options :
      - Ticket for one day
      - Ticket for two days : there is a little problem in the website with the dates of the event but don’t worry, really it has no consequence for us for the validity of your ticket for two days).

      This website works like every ticket booth on internet : you create your account, when you order you ticket, fulfill the required fields and pay via the secured website (you can pay via paypal).

      Pre-sale tickets for Ldoll Festival are electronic tickets, registered to your name. You will receive them by email. Print your ticket and bring it to the Festival. Do not resize your ticket when you print it. There will be a designated entrance at the building for pre-sale ticket holders to enter the venue. Tickets will be checked by scanning the bar code printed on them.

      Please note that tickets are not refundable

      Advantages :

      Pre-sale tickets are available at a special price: 9 euros for one day instead of 10€ for a purchase the day of the event, and 16€ the two days ticket instead of 20€.

      Admission for pre-sale ticket holders starts a half hour before general admission to the Festival: at 10 AM on October 9th and 10 AM on October 10th.

      Each pre-sale ticket entitles to a free raffle ticket for the lottery event which will take place at Ldoll Festival on October 10th.

      Disadvantage:

      Well if you buy pre-sale tickets, it means you will come and you will probably spend a lot of money XD

      Keep in mind that some exhibitors (including professionnal and compagnies) took a double, triple or quadrupe stand : it means that they will come with loots of things !

      About retailers who come to represent different brands and shops (All the Way Down and Wind Dolls), please go on their website and check what they will propose and bring to the salon. You can ask them question if you wish to know more (they represent a lot of compagnies so you should have a great choice, it was important for us).

    13. Opening of the Ldoll's second hand shop

      Briefly, what is it...
      The ldoll staff will run a stand with second hand items during the festival. It means that you could bring items you don't want to keep anymore for your dolls at the festival and put them on the stand for sale while you would just enjoy the salon. We would ask for 10% of the price per item for organization.

      It's an easy way to earn some money during the festival with things you don't want anymore and you don't have to send the items by post.

      But please keep in mind those rules :
      - nothing should be made on your own, no handmade items (i mean nothing you made by yourself, of course if you bought a handmade item on Doa or yahoo, this is ok)
      - the price should be maximum 150€ per item
      - no dolls, no option parts
      - you should bring your item beetween 10 and 12 am saturday and sunday. You can take your items back whenever you want. And we won't keep any item beetween saturday night and sunday morning, you have to take them back even if you visit the salon for two days.
      - fullfill and bring the two forms with your items

      You can download those two forms on the website of the festival. Describe your items, choose your price...and send them before 4th of october at this email
      address : [email protected] You can also contact moachan or hestia by pm if you have any problem. They will just check everything is ok and we

      will print your forms for the festival.

      Please read carefully the procedure form, jaina translate it and it is for sure way more understandable than my own english.
