i have to say that with firefox you can send over your favorites and so forth from any other browser so really you could transfer it all over with one download. its what i have done with my IE to my firefox and the IE8 has that ability as well from what i remember.

It doesn't happen with Firefox or Opera, but is consistant in IE across both of my desktop machines and the laptop, so it's definitely not unique to one computer. I'm also running different versions of Windows on all three (XP Pro, Vista, and Windows 7), so it's not OS-specific either.

ETA: Since you can't reproduce it, here are a couple of screen shots of what I'm seeing-

Clearing the browser cashe definitely doesn't help.
Please check to see if you're viewing DoA with "Compatibility View." If you are, turn it off.

Nothing changed on Friday afternoon - we installed a patch on Sunday morning.

I'm not using "compatibility view". I'm also not an AOL user... So it isn't just one provider's version of IE8 having problems.

The big blue box issue is gone for me! I had it before but I didn't complain cause it didn't take too long to load and I figured you wonderful Mods would figure it out sooner or later.

But now I am encountering a new little glitch. Again, not too serious, and not hindering my loading time at all, but now when I use the "New Posts" search, the subforums links on the far right of each listed thread are not appearing. It just "Forum:" and a blank space.

I am using IE 6 or 7 I think, with Windows Vista, if that helps.

My big blue box is gone! Dang, but you mods are good!!! Thank you! Sorry if it sounded like complaining; I live in a world where, if you don't tell me I'm doing something wrong, nothing ever gets fixed. Many dollie hugs to the webmaster!

Hi, I have IE8 and recently the past few days, I've had these two problems:

Can't tell which page of the thread I'm on as nothing is bold
    and
when I am typeing in a post, my small screen (the one I'm posting in) scrolls randomly upward, and I can't stay where I'm typing. This happens when I type long enough posts to start a scroll bar.

That's it for now, but thought you ought to know in case other people are having this problem. I've run several anti malware programs and run my computer's system mechanic scans and can't find any troubles on my end?? Thanks for listening

I've tested in IE8 and I am not having those problems. Have you checked to see if you're in compatibility view?

I'm using Firefox and I'm having the same 'no idea what page I'm on' problem as Ingie. The page number in either the top or bottom corner aren't highlighting.

We'll look at the highlighting - meantime, an easy way to know what page you're on is by looking where it says "Page _ of _" to the left of the page numbers.

I am running Windows XP and IE 8 and am having both of the above problems as well (no page highlight, scrolling in post box). I am definitely not in compatibility view, as I know how to turn it on and off and it is most certainly off at the moment. It's the scrolling issue that is the annoying one, as whenever I am typing long PMs I have to fight with it to get back to the bottom of the box. It actually did this when we first switched over to this version of the forum as well, them stopped a couple weeks to a month afterwards--I am assuming something minor was updated at that point that fixed the issue, but I'm afraid I can't give you an exact time when it stopped before.
ETA: Also, my resolution is set at 1280 x 1024, in case that may have something to do with how the page is set up.

I am also getting the page-number-not-bolded on Google Chrome running on a Windows Vista 64 computer. It's not a big deal but I also noticed it. Thank you!

I'm having the same issue with the random scrolling in PMs and posts. I'm using Windows Vista and IE 8. I'm not in Compatiility mode. No other problems though that I've come across. ^_^

I'll see if I can replicate the random scrolling in IE8 this weekend... but offhand, I'm not sure what could cause that so a fix may be a little bit off.

I'm experiencing the same "what page am I on" problem as IngieBee, Saryn, and snowgray. I'm on Vista with Firefox 3.5.9.

If it helps here's a screenshot of it. I'm currently on Page 2 of the thread but it is not highlighted or bolded:

Thanks for the illustration, but this is one that we already know about and will work on when we have a chance. We're working on other things, and as this doesn't really affect usability it's not exactly a priority. For now, please just look at the Page _ of _ if you need to know what page you're on.

Another way of telling is by hovering the cursor over the page number and looking at the bottom bar of the open window. If it says 'javascript://' instead of a URL then that's the page you are on!!
I'm having the same issue as well (IE8 and Windows XP)
Also having the irritating scrolling/jumping in reply boxes as well. Took me about 15 mins to type out a reply due to this!

I'm using Chrome, and it's not just that my postcount was initially lower after the upgrade, but it seems like every post I make subtract from my postcount. I just noticed that my postcount is at 209 whereas 2 days prior it was at 211.

Postcounts going up or down slightly have nothing to do with the upgrade. It is due for forum maintanance, including removing extra bumps from threads or chat from news. Just regular clean up. Thanks!
