From a IH reply to a question on the polls:
Now, from our schedule, new SID & KID lines will be open in the first half of this year.
KID means Kid Iplehouse Doll.

So the SIDs will be released in a few months, and there will be another smaller line coming out soon as well, probably in the mini to tiny range.

(This counts as news, right?)

I asked Iplehouse for some background to the KID size doll and received confirmation from Iplehouse that the KIDs will have a childlike physique:

We remember you offered valuable opinion. ^^
JID doll has mature body style, so there were so many customers who want more childlike body style.
So, we decided to make the body for these customers.

Maybe, you can put JID head on KID body.

But, for 45~50cm sized doll, now we don't have any schedule. ^^

Yes, correct.
We have the plan to release similar sized dolls as 25~26cm of other companies.
The age would be approx. 4~5. ^^

The "yes correct" part is when I asked if BID stands for Baby Iplehouse Doll. It does.
I believe this helps us answer some questions about the KID's. If the BID's go from age 4-5 and JID small bust can sometimes push 12 (I"ve only seen it work once) then we can assume KID's will be between the ages of 6-11 with a body be proportional to their age.

I asked Iplehouse for some more information and got a very detailed response to my questions. So I thought I'd share here!

Hi, lovely Kylie~~

JID is 43~45cm mini sized doll, but compared to similar size of other doll companies, the body style is a lot mature.
So, there were frequently customers' requests which wanted more childlike body style. ^^
They asked us to manufacture 2 kinds of body type for JID body.

We had the plan to manufacture 25~26cm sized doll from a long time ago, but due to other schedules for different size, it was delayed, but finally, we can take the schedule in this year.

We were supposed to name it as KID, but there was the opinion that KID age does not fit for 25~26cm sized doll.
Some customers objected this. ^^

So, we made the decision to manufacture KID with less mature body style of teen aged.
Also, we made the decision to manufacture BID of toddler or kindergarten aged. ^^
We were worried if we had to choose as toddler or preschool age. ^^;
During that time, we chose the name of BABY with much cutter feeling.
25~26cm sized doll will be manufactured to be the smallest doll in Iplehouse dolls.
When we tell this from the age, this will be manufactured to be about 5~7 age.
For character or the shape of body, it will be manufactured by existing Iplehouse style.

For the time of release, we can expect BID in this summer, and KID in this autumn or winter.

For basic head mold or body, our president does this work directly, so according to his schedule, the time of release might be changed.
If you can expect a BID holding EID male doll's leg to say to hug (>.<), it would be really good. !!
For KID head, we will manufacture almost similar head size as existing JID.
Of course, we can know this more correctly after we will manufacture directly..

Anyway, we will release wigs, shoes and clothes to fit to each sized doll head.

I asked Iple if they planed on making any of the BID's and KID's in the Noctarcana circus troupe. This was their reply: (Ingore the part about Amy)

Amy was not in the circus, but instead, we were selling her in special edition.
Now, it is not fixed by which character will be made for BID & KID.
Actually, it is not decided yet if they will be included in the circus.

Hi Everyone!

I asked Iplehouse a lot of questions about the KID's this week but they were pretty coy in their reply to me. I was asking if the new KID bodies would be jointed similar to the SID bodies. I also asked if they would do some of their wonderful non-Caucasian sculpts in the new small-sized dolls. Basically Iplehouse insinuated that all of my suggestions were already in line with the company's own plans! It might seem they were just brushing me off in a nice way, but I've found with Iplehouse they take customer's wishes very seriously so we might well see some new KID's with beautiful Asian and African faces, wandering around on bodies jointed like the SID's this summer!

They did answer one of my questions definitively - I was asking whether the KID girls would be flat-chested (undeveloped breasts), or at least if not, if the flat chest would be an option for those who wanted to turn the KID's into very young characters aged between 5 and 10. This is what they said:

For KID, flat breast parts will be released.
The age is too young, and the doll will be manufactured according to this age. ~

I love Iple, but I sometimes have a hard time trying to understand their meanings. I think they need a better English translator.

Yes - this is exactly what they meant! I'm glad! The size of a 35cm doll is perfect to represent a little sister or brother of an MSD, so I'm glad they are going to be childlike, not mature.

I just got a tiny tidbit of info about KID's today when I asked for more information about Iplehouse's plan to do a renewal of the JID girl body:

Dear airelda,

There is no change in body line.
But we are supposed change joints only.

Please expect KID body.
This will be manufactured with less mature, younger body, as you wish.
Also, you can exchange with JID head.

We have the plan to manufacture JID character with smaller head, more adult character to match to the existing body.

However, we will try to show up in this year, hopefully.

We have seen these promises before of course, but this is the first time Iplehouse has mentioned any kind of deadline in more than a year so there is a tiny glimmer of hope! I was half afraid they might abandon the line altogether so at least this means they are still in the pipeline!

Well to show you how optimistic I am feeling today, I started a new Flickr group for the KID's! It only has photos of my Iplehouse Amy head on her Narsha body at the moment but I thought those photos would be enough to give people the idea.

Here's the latest from Iplehouse on the KID line. Another delay unfortunately but on the up-side, they definitely confirm they are working on the line right now! The really nice thing about the way IH releases new doll lines is they have a complete range of shoes, wigs and outfits ready to release alongside the new size so it is pretty fun to imagine all the cute "tween" designs they might be working on right now to outfit the new KIDS!

We will release the KID line this summer.
We are now working on it, but it seems like it will be difficult to release them in May.
When we introduce a new line we have to prepare for lot of things.

It will take some time before we can post a review of KID line.
If we post them too fast, customers will complain to us why it isn¡¯t released yet.

We have no plan to release doll furnitures again.
We still have some of the beds in our storage unit but it is only half way done and there is no one who can finish them.

Few years ago, I heard that our CEO made it by hand but it was difficult to make a living.
Also it could be easily damaged in the delivering process.
And there aren¡¯t a lot of people who want s to buy them.

I think there would be a big demand for a 35cm doll, though - its a hole that very few companies have taken advantage of...hopefully they'll take a chance on them soon! I've been wanting a KID for a while now, and I keep checking the IH site to see if they've been released yet!!

I sure hope they'll come out by like September! At least that gives me enough time to get my larger dolls in order first. . . . but I really, really want a KID sized doll, and I'd much rather have one from Iplehouse than a Narsha. They're cute and all but I would LOVE a 35cm doll who is beautifully realistic looking.

From what I'm hearing they're actually really working on them and planning to get them out towards fall. I asked a question about if they were planning on releasing any SID males this summer, and got this in response:

Dear Tatterpunk,

We don't have any plans for SID male dolls.
We will be releasing one or two female dolls in big size and then focus on JID and KID line.
We will be releasing Giorgio as basic doll at the end of this month.

I didn't even ask about the KIDs this time, so that's a good sign! Though I'm a little sad about no new realistic SID guys lol. BUT KIDS 0_0 and new JIDs YES PLEASE!!!
