@Tsukasa I've used ribbon to restring my MSDs that were having problems. I'm not sure how much ribbon you'd need for a SSDF... I wonder if biast tape would work. I got some when someone gave me their old sewing machine... but I didn't know where to put it or how to work it without instructions.

Forceps is probably a more correct term now that I think about it. They look like a cross between scissors and plyers - they pinch the elastic so it doesn't go shooting back into the doll.

The length must be more than double the longest doll's part. I used it for my SD (62cm) and I use it for heads. I'm still waiting for my SSDF, so it may be another story when I get him. For SSDF it may be more challenging since it must be long/strong enough (and the legs are definitely something), but also thin enough so it won't get stuck in the narrow places (the knee was a bit of pain even for SD).
When I get my guy, I will give it a try...

I’m still waiting for my SSFD to arrive, so I may be wrong, but there shouldn’t be any problem with replacing the hands with joint ones. The hooks look pretty normal per Luts’ photos.

What jointed hands did you buy?

I plan either DK 70 hands (pink) or, if I could find any color comparison, Island doll joint hands. But there is nearly no comparison for Island doll resin color matches on DoA so far. The pink seems to be too pink and yellow is definitely not right for Luts normal color. But the ‘Island’ resin color looks promising.

The hooks on my 2010 SSDF, who has the new hands, has S-hooks that are crimped closed around his wrist parts and so do not come off at all. So you will need to buy S-hooks. I bought a pair of 65cm jointed hands from DikaDoll a few months ago (through Crobidoll) and the size is a perfect fit. The color is a little dark, but the look fine with long sleeves.

For the DK 65cm jointed hands, you mean the 1/3 boy hands?
DK doll has either '1/3' or 'Senior' (some websites list them as '70cm') jointed hands.
Just to make sure which one is better.

I dunno. Crobi lists them as 65cm, but they're probably the 1/3? I'll have to check them on the Dikadoll website. They don't have the long nails, and are actually the same size as the SSDF hands. I got them for my boy Merrown, who is the Cane hybrid on a Crobi body. On the Crobi body, the S-hooks come off the default hands quite easily and just slide onto the jointed hands, so changing the jointed hands is easy with a regular S-hook. Why Luts crimped their so that they couldn't be removed I do not know, but it's kind of a pain. But I really like the slide-on attatchment, though!

Heh, I've checked it, too.

For the male hands:
Crobidoll lists: 1) Jointed Hand Parts For 65cm 2) Jointed Hand Parts For 60cm
Dikadoll lists: 1) Senior hands 2) 1/3 Male hands

And Catas on DoA has 70cm, SD13, MSD size jointed hands.

I assume, Dikadoll's Senior = Catas' 70cm = Crobidoll's 65cm.

If SSDF is bigger than 1/3.... is it considered 1/2?

I think they're still within the realm of 1/3, although if you put them at 1/1 all 70cm dolls are nearly seven feet tall! At 1/2 they'd only be about four and a half feet tall at 1/1.

Nope. 1/2 dolls are 90cm (roughly half the size of a real person). 70cm dolls are still 1/3 the size of a real person, just a way tall one.

Dolls like Dollmore's Lusion doll I'd guess fits into the 1/2 scale! it's probably the exact size of a toddler!

I've just been looking at this thread while doing some SSDF research and seeing all of those 08 man heads really makes me happy! I'm hoping to get the body one day... in a few months!
Even though I've had him since the event he's still face-less but his character and everything else is sorted, just need the money to catch up with me!

I'd just like to say again how much I like the new pictures they have of Cane!! The old ones were so sad looking, I had a hard time chooseing him. Glad I did, though. (My modded Cane is my Avatar now )
