Thread: Doll Family 62cm and 70cm Discussion

Wow!! Thanks Kirahfaye! You're so amazing!! I was thinking of purchasing the Doll Family-A normal pink body, which happens to be for my Angell Studio head. xD I noticed it was somewhat similar to the Doll Family-H resin I own. ^___^ I appreciate your help so much!

You're welcome. You might want to double check with Mint on Card. Lindsey and staff are very helpful (though they don't work on the weekend . . .).

Hey, so I received my Ryuu (Xuan) in December 2009. Due to various reasons he had to be in a box for almost 2 years. But recently I dressed him and put him on the couch. But for some reason...he looks more yellow, especially his face? He's white-skin.

Did anyone else notice that with his/her doll from 2009?

So I recently got a DF-A V.2 boy body for a hybrid project with a Studio another secret head I have and it is a wonderful match as far as the resin and neck size. The head looks a tad small on the body, but not bad.
The body is nicely sculpted and a great poser, a bit creaky, but definitely well worth the price in my opinion.
I got mine from Happy House and had a stellar shopping experience.

Anyone know a good source for clothing for this body? Some of my SD13 size stuff that I had is too short in the sleeves and a bit snug in the shoulders.

I know that Dollheart and Angell-Studio clothes fit the dolls well.

But my boy is from 2009, so maybe your doll is different.

Thanks for the info. My boy is the type 2 version that just came out, so I think is a tad bigger and although he can fit into some SD13 clothes I had, they are snug. I am thinking SD16 would fit better. I think Dollheart does sell some SD16 size things so will definitely check it out.

Here is a shot of my AIL Bertam DF type 2 hybrid boy, the resin is a very good match!

I have to say, even though there's a post on page one that has a list of all the clothes that fit the version one body, I don't have a running list for version 2. If only we could lay them out side by side and do a comparison! If you find a company that consistently works, let me know, I'll make a new list.

Also, I have a question for version one owners or really anybody that might know: about how thick is the elastic you use to string your boy? No matter what I do I can't seem to get the tension quite right and I'm beginning to think that the elastic might not be thick enough. He came to me with thicker elastic, but he was incredibly tight so I ordered more from Alice Collections. The elastic that came to me was much thinner and I've just had constant problems with it. -_- A lot of people have posted pictures of this body standing on one foot out of the box but my boy only stands with great difficulty even after hot glue sueding. While I've ha the chance to handle several different dolls from different companies and of different sizes, he's the only one I've ever taken apart and I can't help but think it's a problem on my end or that I should wire string him. But the thought of wire-stringing terrifies me since his resin is already all scratched up on the inside of his angles from the S hooks biting it when he was originally strung so tight. I love my boy, but I'd really like to help him improve so I could play with him without getting frustrated.

Good luck on finding some help with the type 1 body stringing question. I am so clueless about stringing, not something I can imagine I will ever have the patience to do. Luckily, I have found a wonderful resource who does a great job with stringing, hot glueing etc. that lives in Washington.

I have some SD16 clothes coming from Vivi's Elaboration, so will see if that works for the type 2 body and will report back. I ordered a long SD13 size button up shirt which is too small, can't even button it up, but luckily the sweater vest I ordered does fit and the shirt looks fine underneath it.

delicate disaster - I use a 4.5mm in my Lyre. I am going to try 5mm in him at some stage because I'm curious how that will go. I have to admit that out of the SDs I currently have, my Dollfamily V1 body is the best at posing.

Alice Collection clothing is hit and miss on the old V1 body. Some things fit, some are slightly too big but mostly around the waist so you can kind of hide it.

Just checked AC and they have the new DF-A body version 3 on sale. Does anyone have this body? I hope it's better than the version 2.

I couldn't find any doll family threads other than this. Well, hopefully it is okay to post and ask questions. I actually has been looking in youtube dollfie box opening for ages, for like half a year and still couldn't find anyone who could share Doll Family H Anna, i just want to see if there's owners who own Anna because I had ordered Anna as well, she's coming next 1-2 weeks and I really want to have people who could compare similarities with me. THank you.

I have a question about Chenxi...and I didn't know where else to post it. This seems to be the best place?
Anyway, when his middle disjoints, his strings are exposed, a little, and that bothers me. I was wondering if any other Chenxi owner had this problem, and/or if anyone knew of a solution?
I took a picture to illustrate my point...Chenxi is the doll with silver hair on the right. The other doll is just there for comparison...both their middles are disjointed the same way.

I am looking to buy the doll "May" for Christmas, and I was wondering how the posing is with her?
And how the general doll is, as well as the company. I am ordering from Mint On Card, but I would still like to know how this doll 'works'.
