Hello, I scanned, but didn't see anyone saying as such... I'm wondering if anyone's bought the Nigel yet? I'm really interested in seeing him and hearing what others think!

I just got a Ji but unfortunately there were some problems

She came with chips to her makeup and more just keeps coming off. I don't even have to touch her, just blow on her face and it bits come off. Do you think her faceup wasn't sealed properly?

They are sending me a new head but sadly I think because she arrived with problems, its kind of put me off her now. Also, one of the wigs I ordered with her was plain ridiculous. The fringe was soooooo long. She looks like cousin IT if she wears it.

But on the plus side, she is really nicely strung and sturdy and holds poses really well and stands really well. Nice poseability. And she came with some extras too (an extra wig and pair of shoes).

However, I'm not sure if she'll be staying even if the new head comes without problems because its just kind of put a dampener on things and I think I'll find it hard to bond with her now

Anyway, here are a couple of pics. I hope its ok to post two. There are more on my flickr.

Oh, that's too bad! So sorry for your troubles. She IS lovely though! Her face sculpt is just beautiful and the wig she's wearing looks really cute. If they're sending you a new head, will you be experimenting face-ups with the old one? You might consider selling it to 'ease the pain' a bit.

well I have had to pay $18 for half the shipping cost of sending a new one so I will probably try and sell this one to make the cost of that back. Otherwise I might send her to a friend who does faceups and get her to do one and see which head I then prefer =)

You're lucky to have a friend like that! It's amazing what a difference a different face-up can make! I see some sculpts with no face-up and say 'no, that's not for me', but then I see the same sculpt with a gorgeous face-up and think 'wow, that just looks incredible! What a beautiful sculpt!' Same with a face-up I don't particularly like, it can completely put me off a sculpt and then I see the blank head or see the same sculpt with a different face-up and it just looks amazing. Good luck choosing!

I'm sorry about the face-up hopefully you'll like the new one better. Their dolls are really nice though, I love all the poses the new body can do opposed to the old one I have. (on a side note I believe my Nami came with that same wig)

Princesspetal, too bad abbout your Ji. i'm currently saving up for one myself, as she's perfect for one of my characters... after your story, though, i'll probably get her sans face and do it myself. i'm not a big fan of the company's wigs either. maybe you should give her another chance?
I think the Robot Devil just told me he loved me in Bender's voice while wearing Granny Hester's clothes!

The website says 6/7 wigs, so I'm thinking their heads are smaller than most other MSDs. They come with a set of 16mm eyes, which I think look fine from the website pictures. I'm still waiting on my doll (Emma), so this is just information I've gleaned from reading up a lot =) Please feel free to correct me, anyone, if I'm wrong.

thanks Im also wondering if anyone can tell me, when dealing with a tan skinned one does it do any damage to the tan resin if alchohol and Mr. magic eraser is used on it? does it lighten the tan?

  13. #253
um, it kind of depends. I had trouble with using alcohol on Bobobie tan skin, it lightened it a lot when I let the head sit too long in alcohol and didn't get it rinsed off quickly. Haven't had any trouble with magic eraser. After the Bobobie fiasco (it was a head tho, and easily blushed to compensate) I switched to Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner and haven't had any more problems with darker skin. I used it on my tan 5Star Edward. And that stuff will REALLY clean a head.

The replacement head for my Ji arrived this week and I was sure I was going to sell her but I put the new head on and some eyes, wig etc. and she actually looks rather lovely =)

She's so pretty, Princesspetal! I hope you decide to keep her. Ji's always been one of my favorite 5SD sculpts, second only to Yoka.

And those eyes are gorgeous! Are they really that blue in person?

My best friend is looking to buy a Ji. <3 Are 5Star doll minis slim, or more regular sized MSDs?
