Dollshe Ru Q and A :)

Okay, I've seen some seeeriously cute pics of this doll.

I would like to slowly work my way up from tinies, and I am very much considering getting a dollshe ru the next time some money falls my way (or stuff gets sold, that too XD)

Tell me about her? I'm on the site right now, I've already written down her measurements from the size chart, and searched up older posts.

She seems very pale, is there any pic comparison of normal vs white skin?

How do you (owners) find her posability? What are your likes and dislikes about her?

I'm confused about her wig size, which says 6.25. Where's a great place to get them from (apart from Tinybear, who I adore <3)

I would get one blank, as I like to paint my own faceups.

Any note on what they can wear? Can they share blythe clothing? (probably not?) I've read that their feet are a bit bigger so shoes could be a problem.

And lastly, if you have one, sell me on her! I mean, I'm pretty much already sold, and I'm hoping to see one in real life soon, but more research never hurts.

i don't have one and i hadn't thought of getting one, but i do find her very cute, and inspired by your post here i just started looking around, and as she is so hard to find with her two letter name i thought to add a picture request thread that i found:

the easiest way to find pics of her that i could think of is doing a search for "dollshe" in galleries and then on each search page that comes up using "Ctrl+F" and typing "Ru" there

Thanks annina I've been looking at flickr photos mostly, as you are right, it's hard to search her short name.

I love her wide eyed crazy look, it's so cute, but roonodoll yumi is also very tempting.

I don't have a Ru, but if her head size is 6.25, a size 6-7 wig should fit, that's what Yo SDs, Narae, Unoa, Liebchen etc. also wear. Monique make wigs in size 6-7 sold by several people on eBay, as does Cancan.

As for resin, Ru's made by Dollshe, so if you look for a normal vs white resin comparison thread for one of DS's bigger dolls like Hound, that should give you an idea. She is sold with face-up as an optional extra by Luts and Tensiya.

And ISTR a Ru owner telling me that they can fit into Barbie clothing, which is bigger than Blythe.

She can fit in Blythe if it's knit/stretchy. Barbie fits well, but since Ru lacks any boobage at all, tops can be a bit roomy. It makes dressing her pretty easy. Sleeves have to be loose or her hands will not fit through, but you can also find a lot of things that will work. She can also fit in shorter Madame Alexander Cissette clothing, the longer stuff is too short for her. She's way too thin for Ann Estelle or Bitty Bethany, or Yo things.

Wigs: I like straight 6's on her, I've found many 6-7's to be a bit too big. I get mine from either cancan or Audrey's Dolls.

Shoes: I've had the most success with shoes from Juju's Dolly Mall in Global Bluette size and Madame Alexander Doll Factory shoes. Her feet are pretty wide and flat.

She's not the best poser I own, not as good a a Yo...she has the same joint as hound, where her lower torso separates from her upper torso, and has a tendency to pop out, and her ankles tend to catch on the edges of her shins....but she does okay. She's not all that pale, nothing like Serendipity's NS, but she's not that pink/dark either. Bodywise, she reminds me of a Skipper doll. She was one of the first dolls that reached through the screen to grab me...something about her smiling little face just *got* me. I adore my Cricket. She was my first doll smaller than 45cm.
