About the headcap: I have an older AoD, like from 2007 and his head cap is slightly larger than the rest of his head. He's straight from AoD by way of Junky Spot so I know he's legit.Originally Posted by Skittzlez2

AoD resin is rather smooth and glossy. At least that is how mine is. I also got mine from Junkyspot, so I know that's legit.
I also noticed that the foot in your hand in one picture is NOT the high heeled foot. The High heeled foot is smaller than that and more curved as if it has an arch. This one is completely flat. It looks like the Type 2 AoD foot for the type 2 body... which is a BIG foot.

Don't worry about the head cap thing, my AOD Male Qian was made in 2008 and his headcap is larger than the facepiece too. Funny though, my boy is smooth but matte (at least his body is)..

my Jimi is pretty old, and his headcap has a bit of overhang too. and his resin is smooth but matte. Granted he is just a head, so if he winds up getting a AoD body, it might be shiny. Some times company's resin isnt consistent form year to year in color, right? so im sure the same could go for texture?
So finally here is a picture of my Jimi head. he doesnt have any hair or eyes yet, so I made him a hat to cover his head till his wig arrives. ^_^;
I am having a really hard time figuring out what kind of face up i want him to have. he has kind of this fixed snobbish grump look to him at certain angles. The inspiration is a bit slow-coming for the first time ever.
Somehow I've always found that Jimi might look better with his eyes opened up, but I don't think anyone's ever tried that. Somehow he always looks so...grumpy. But its a personal preference~

He some times has a grump face form certain angles. but I like eyes that are kind of "Dreamy" or less opened up.. I think with the right face up he'd look more regal them grumpy. I just cant decide how thats going to go down. I think its all going to be determined by the eyebrow shape and position so after taking a head-on photograph of him Ive been playing around with eyebrows on photoshop. still havent *quite* found the perfect set. And I havent decided if he will get freckles like my little girl Judith.

Going directly to AoD is not something I would recommend. But that is just from my experience. I suffered with a large lack of communication to the point that I had to file a pay pal dispute, and pay pal sided in my favor because AoD never contacted them or me. I have heard good things about "Happy House", though.

got mine off the MP but I know that junky Spot carries AoD but they havent restocked in a very long time.
I always buy my AOD dolls from Happy House! (I love those guys!) Great service and awesome communication! I always recommend them to people interested in buying AOD dolls.
