Oooh Salem is looking handsome today! The glasses and the dress shirt and the cardi isn't the look I normally think of when it comes to Salem but he pulls it off well. <3 It might be the spunky teal of the cardi.

Storm is wearing a blue wig and relaxing on a box of wigs while he's surrounded by new eraser fruit and tiny pirate ships. I'm seriously thinking about wiping his faceup and trying again. It's really starting to irk me. :/

TQV If it really irks you than it's the best to wipe and re-do it. I do the same when one of my dolls' face-up annoys me too much (just that I don't re-do them myself xD)

I have a question for you lovely ladies and gents, a while back I saw a comment about the bar in the head of the Mono's.
I can't get my bar out of it's little indentation. It doesn't seem to come out at all. Am I alone in this or is the bar not actually removable? It's just that Storm is really really loose and floppy. He can't hold any pose that isn't 'laying there languidly' and he certainly can't stand anymore. Also, he's got super massive 'cut you open' seam lines that I feel I might want to at least attempt to make better though I'm seriously worried about sanding his tan resin...

TQV It is removable (I got Chad unstrung) you just need to use a bit of strenght for it to come out. Reminds me that I really have to replace it with a S-Hook /is lazy

Boil his head in hot water for two-three minutes while without faceup. It'll come out then.

I used to string my Monos from the head down, or unstrung from the foot up, since I actually like it that way. You just have to change your method of tightening, but that's also easy. :3

Also, he's got super massive 'cut you open' seam lines that I feel I might want to at least attempt to make better though I'm seriously worried about sanding his tan resin...

One of my tan Limhwa dolls arrived with a piece broken off her torso. I received a replacement torso, but since the resin match was horribly off I decided to sand the spot where the piece had broken off and keep using the damaged torso. The good news is, is that the tan colour goes through the whole resin and is not just a top layer. So you can probably sand off the seams and get only a slightly lighter patch of resin.

I'm terrible excited since a) Chad's eye will arrive probably early next week (currently stuck in customs /shakes fist), b) I bought him a wig (my Mom decided she wants the new Iple SID Giorgio and somehow talked me into paying half of him so I added a wig for Chad to our order since those 23$ does not really matter anymore with the total price we paid /wheeps) and c) I finally found a mold to re-shell his sister (not that Chad is happy 'bout that since she constantly tries to kill him but oh well XD)

My tan resin does NOT go all the way through. I also did some light sanding and discolourimg appeared. D: Then I did some major sanding and he is now very light!

Double post for finally showing the Mono/Lusis comparison (aka Chad and his girlfriend Allegra). I remembered them looking way more out of proportion together but they go rather well together :3

On the subject of tan resin, here is what happens when you sand it. Rook is a restoration project, so after I am finished sanding him, he will be airbrushed to be tan once more.



Just so all of you who are considering sanding tan know what you're getting into!

edit: What you're looking at it pictures of me modifying Rook's face = the damage was done mostly to his nose, which you can see on the right. On the left is the progress pictures. I also modified his mouth, gave him cheekbones on one side of his face, and changed his brow shape. The rest needs to be completed now. I also noticed that I put pictures of my other mods in progress in there. That's Gus, my Soom Migma boy, having his chest sanded. And Coco-Mollie, my CCC Ophelia, having her head boiled to fix scratching. CCC eresin is actually different than normal resin, though, so the boiling turned out differently than expected. ^^;; (Not bad, though.)

We had a dolly dressup day today. Salem doesn't really do "sexy" all that well. He does do "adorably awkward" quite well though?

I finished Rook's face mods today, and now I have to brush him over to make him tan again. I'll post a picture soon! Nasa He's wearing a certain wig! ;3

Jumps in and squeal over all the pretty Mono's that is pictured <3 (and to believe I at one time thought they weren't that pretty. |D now I'm sold. I want more.) They are all so pretty! I can't wait until I get my Mono finished, need to give him a face up and some body blushing (he's going to show off his nipples a lot, so they need some color).

Also some re-stringing and hot glueing. Have all your boys been hot glued/sueded and how do they pose after that? Any tips on how to best fix the head piece so it is posable? : /a

I haven't, though I probably should... Salem likes to default to a torso-slumped, arms-half-bent zombie pose.

_{Actually, come to think of it, I need to give him a good bath and restring him. I handle him so much he's getting a bit grungey and his stringing's gone all wonky on me ^^;}
