1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    2. Here's some spam for the new thread - Ella and her brother Sinjin

    3. Does anybody have a problem with posing Pixiu or is it just my inability to? I have my Xiu kicking me all the time when I posing him, even in spite of the fact that I've restringed him and fixed body joint soft silicone cushions. And he is very bad takes a sitting position too.

    4. Definitely not just you :XD: It's tricky to get my Kret to sit up properly, and his arms are either dead straight at his sides or in some crazy kung fu arrangement in front of his face. I've tightened up his stringing (he was super loose when he arrived) and have hot glue sueded his head, but am waiting until I take him apart for painting to suede the rest of him. He likes to tip forward at the hips when I'm trying to stand him up, as well. Hot-glueing his head definitely helped though - he could only do this shy sideways/downward look before, but now I can point his face in any direction and it'll hold.

    5. I tightened their strings and sueded some of the joints, and now my two dragons stand like a rock. They're actually the most stable of the bunch. Probably because of their big feet... :)

The arms are definitely the biggest problem - without sueding the shoulders, they don't pose at all...

Some older Lorien spam for the new thread...

    6. Had to find this thread. Can I please have some dark grey Pixiu spam. My husband will be ordering me a blank one for Christmas, from Resinsoul this time.... I have a gargoyle tattoo on my head,(gargoyles were placed on buildings to scare away evil spirits.)
so the pixiu will be the real version once I do his face up.

    7. Dark grey, you say? Har you go!

    8. I thought Luna would be grumpy because I bought her best friend new clothes but I didn't buy any for her. But she seems quite happy for him! Maybe its because she knows I'm planning to make her lovely things :)

    9. Thank you Pinkandyellow he is gorgeous, what a lovely colour and the face Wow, can't wait.

    10. I'm super excited! Resinsoul just sent me the picture of the resin color! >_< Hopefully Lysander will be in the mail soon! (for everyone who doesn't know, I got a batch of medium tan resin that's between the coffee and chocolate tans) The color looks good in the picture, so I'm hoping he looks good in real life too! I just wanted to share my enthusiasm with someone. ^_^

    11. I swear its stuff like this that makes RS so damn awesome. Please share the pics when you get your new doll home as I've got a character that would like to have a chibi version of himself *rolls eyes* and their tan is too light and their chocolate is too dark.

    12. Fairy Milliner, ch3rrybl0ss0m

Yes, I know that sueding could help, but I'm afraid of doing it, in spite of the fact that I've seen many tutorials about sueding. I hope in the nearest future I will have enough courage to try sueding technique and my Pixiu will stand like a rock too.

    13. Trust me, I'm still terrified :XD: I only worked up the courage to do it properly for the fist time last week with my Pixiu. What I found helped was a little improvisation trick: I'd roll tiny strips of paper around my index finger and then tape them in place. The finished tube was no bigger than the top part of my finger, which helped get into the small curves, but rolled several times around my fingertip to help protect against the heat. Dab a little glue on the inside of the joint, hand the glue gun to a waiting assistant (thanks Mum!) and then swiftly but firmly smear the glue around the inside of the socket with the sellotaped bit of the paper. The shiny tape helps give a nice smooth finish! Sooo much easier than using the paper itself to smooth the glue, since it would always just stick to the resin for me.

    14. I've been fooling around with Mio a bit. :)
He's got hot glue in his hips and shoulders, and that's all. Like I said, he stands like a rock.

    15. I just ordered the the dragon yesterday. Looking at the pictures here makes me excited. Can't wait to see it. I haven't tried sueding yet, so I guess I'll have to learn. I love the colored resins. Mine is just normal skin, but I ordered through Junkyspot and that or white or tan were the choices.

    16. I honestly laughed for a good solid minute this morning when I saw your picture, Fairy Milliner! I've seen so many people at concerts just like that.

    17. Do you think you could post pictures of where you put the hot-glue/suede? I'm trying to figure out my Pixiue too, and I seem to have failed at sueding him/her. Don't think I completely understand how it's done.

    18. Here you go, KingOfChains - I'm not sure how well you can see it in this photo, but it's the best shot I could get.

You basically want to cover the whole inside of the socket with a thin layer of hot glue, preferably as smooth as you can get, but don't go right up to the slot where the elastic and S-hook go through. If you get the glue too close to the hole, it could catch the elastic when you're taking his/her head on and off. The glue could start peeling away from the resin or come off altogether if that happens, meaning you might have to repeat the 'sueding' process over. That's just theory though - I don't know if that would happen for sure :XD: Hope this helped!

    19. I can see it fine! Thank you! By the way.... do you have the problem of being able to see the suede because of his neck not taking up all of that crevice? It seems like it does that with mine.. i used too-dark suede though..

    20. Glad I could help! :)
Hmm... I can see little bits of the glue poking out from the base of his head, but it's only noticeable when I really look for it. That can probably be taken care of with a bit of gentle picking :XD: I don't actually use suede at all, just hot glue - to my knowledge (my best guess, really), the process is only called 'suedeing' because that material is what was originally used by the folks who came up with the technique.
