My name is Aimee Steinberger and I love dolls!

Several years ago I started to rekindle my love of dolls with ladies like Barbie and Gene Marshall, but I grew frustrated with their lack of posability. Then on a Japanese Gene site,... I saw some breathtaking dolls. I assumed that they were one-of-a-kinds, but they weren't. They were just expensive, somewhat limited resin dolls called Super Dollfie. I saved up for months to get my very first Super Dollfie from the Japanese company, VOLKS in 2002. Then I created a website, with information about my doll, since there were very few english websites about them.

After a while my friends (Helene and Janne) and I decided to create a discussion group called Den of Angels. We wanted a group where we could share our dolls in a pleasant atmosphere. Eventually we outgrew the Yahoo Group and created a forum which I hosted. I am one of several moderators currently running Den of Angels forums. Many people, especially Cassiel and Janne, helped to create the informative pages you find on this site. These dolls are now one of my most treasured hobbies.

As for me, I grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. I now live in Southern California with my husband and my fat black cat, Youta. I am an animator by trade and an alumni of California Institute of the Arts (BFA in Character Animation). I am currently working on Futurama and have previously worked on the Simpsons and for Warner Brothers and Disney. I also am a staff writer for Haute Doll Magazine. I also co-edited the Haute Doll BJD Orbyrarium book.

My favorite doll company is VOLKS (Super Dollfie). My favorite thing to do with my dolls is to take them to a park or a tea house with friends and take photos. Besides my love of dolls and animation, I have a passion for cosplay, kimono, haute couture, Sanrio, Japanese culture, action flics, folk lore, the ocean and the colors pink, blue and lime.
